Chapter 2 - chapter-2 (childhood)

My name is "KANTINARAYAN PRASAD" But everyone calls me Kanti, I think mother loves me the most.

Loves more, and why not, I am the youngest, I have two brothers and three sisters. All my siblings are much older than me . All three sisters get married in very good homes.I heard, the relations that my father had done, the rest of my brothers, their The marriage will also take place within a year or two, and So what should I talk about myself, I am only seven years old now.

Kanti was a very mischievous child. If he go with friends, then disturb them, when he comes home, the elder brother starts teaching him at home. He used to fall asleep and when the brother scolded him, he would hide in the hands of his mother. The entire responsibility of their house was on both the brothers, both of them used to work in the field. And after the death of father, his mother Gauravati started selling garlands of flowers. But mother says me that "your father was also no less than anyone, he used to do a very big job. Those big schools up to the eighth standard had peons".

No one could ever understand Kanti.

Kati had become very boisterous,

Sometimes he used to run in the rain and sometimes he used to come home covered in mud.He went to third grade, but table three he didn't know. His enmity was with his school. Going to school felt like going to a dungeon. It had been three years since Kanti's father died, Gauravati always gave him father's love, and performed all the duties of father well. The marriage of both his eldest sons was fixed on the same day, along with both the daughters of Ramshankar. And why the marriage will not happen, both sisters were coming for both the brothers only.

The mindless Kanti started urging that I also want to get married, so his mother Gauravati explained to him that,We will marry him when he grows up.Gauravati said that "the one who will come for you is now will be very young" So Kanti said no "I want to marry a big girl". And everyone burst into laughter .Mother seduces Kanti and sends Kanti with his friends.

All the friends used to travel far and wide together. Sometimes they plucked mangoes by pelting stones on the mango tree, sometimes they threw stones in the river from the bank of the river, sometimes they played hide and seek, sometimes they shouted very loudly in front of someone's house, the people whom they harassed. They ran after him but could never catch him. After a few days the wedding bells of both the brothers of Kanti rang and the marriage ceremony was completed with great pomp.

GIRDHAR NARAYAN got RAJNANDINI and GOPAL NARAYAN got ROOPNANDINI. I was very happy because the number of people who loved me had increased. Mother's attention was now only on me. Two sisters-in-law Rajnandini and Rupanandini had handled the house very well. With the arrival of these two sisters, it seemed as if all the happiness of the house had returned. Both the sisters used to give a lot of love and respect to the mother. He had a very good relationship with my mother, but after few months, differences started between the two sisters. They started getting jealous of each other. And quarrels started over small things. They used to postpone their work on each other. Gradually, both of them asked for the division of the house, then the mother flatly refused. Mother said that "I will not allow the division of the house till Kanti's marriage". Mother promised that after Kanti's marriage, I will do the division immediately. The east side of property will be given to the eldest son Girdhar Narayan, the west to Kanti Narayan, the youngest son and the middle to Gopal Narayan. No one could disobey the mother's orders, so according to the mother's wish, both the sisters obeyed the mother's command.

It was winter season, every year a winter fair was held in the village, I used to go to this fair every year with my friends. I used to eagerly wait to go to the fair with my friends. This time my mother gave me Rs 50. When I was going to the fair, My mother hugged me and told me not to misbehave with your friends and come home early from the fair.Mom said "now you're grown up, you're 14, I can't be with you forever, start taking your responsibilities son", I was bored hearing all this,I immediately said "goodbye" and left for the fair. went out for On the way all the friends told what they would buy at the fair. When we all our friends reached the fair, they saw that there was a lot of crowd, seeing the crowd, our enthusiasm increased a lot. It seemed that today we will take all the goods of the fair home.

We did a lot in the fair like sitting on the winch, eating sweets, buying toys, walking in the whole venue, watching the circus, but the mind was getting nervous, the mind was getting depressed. It seemed as if something was about to go wrong. I bought some sweets and dumplings for the house and a handkerchief for my mother and left the house from the fair. On the way, two women were talking among themselves that "Gauravati was such a good woman, but what to do, God willing", seeing me, she became silent. My mind started to panic. Their mothers came on the street to pick up friends, and they all went to their homes with their mothers. Now I was going home alone, my heart was beating loudly and as soon as I reached home I saw that the ground had slipped from under my feet. and like a terrible lightning struck on my head, because my mother had left this world. Hearing this incident of my mother, I started suffering like a fish without water.

The handkerchief I brought for my mother was probably going to be used to wipe my tears. That day I realized that the world is not mine. Then my brothers and sisters in law took care of me.

After 6 months I had my 8th class. So I left school. After my mother's departure, my nature had completely changed, as if I had become a responsible person. I used to go to the fields with my elder brothers. And worked diligently. And I used to help my sisters in law with household chores. She loved me very much, and they never let me feel the absence of mother, thus 5 years passed. And after 5 years I turned 19 years old. Now my brother wanted to get rid of my responsibility by getting me married soon.My elder brother asked for the hand of a girl for me who was almost 4 years older than me. I did not accept this offer. But seeing the condition of the brothers, this relationship had to be approved. A few days later I got married in a very simple way. And our house was divided according to what my mother said 5 years ago, I got the west part.I got a calf of a cow, two fields, some utensils and a house to live a mile away from where our cows lived. I could not even say anything because I was very grateful to my brother. For a whole year we built a house there to live by our hard work. Now we both lived there but we used to fight a lot. 'HEMLATA' (my wife) loved me very much but I could not understand her love. One day she started leaving the house, I also let her go, if I was alone for a day or two, I was missing. After a few days I started missing her, then after a few days I went to her mother's house to pick her up, now we both lived together.

In this way the first candle was about to be extinguished, only then he lit the second candle with the help of the first candle and when the first candle was extinguished, he said goodbye to the childhood memories and started the memories of the days of youth as soon as the second candle was lit.
