Chapter 82 - Chapter 82

Lady Melissa's eyes trailed back to the top of the newspaper, only then realizing the title of the newspaper.

"Whitechapel's Black Record, Another Horrible Murder"

The title was written in big, bold black letters.

"I assume the victim was a prostitute as well?"

Lady Melissa asked her parents, the common thing so far was that Jack The Ripper had only killed prostitutes.

"They haven't released information about her job but if I'm not wrong her profession is a prostitute."

The Duke replied, finally looking up from his newspaper to stare into Lady Melissa's eyes for a few seconds.

The Duchess silently nodded her head in agreement, thinking that Mary was probably a prostitute.

Strangely enough, when Lady Melissa had saw the man who she assumed was Jack The Ripper murder a woman, it wasn't in whitechapel, instead it was in a dark alleyway.

Lady Melissa now, a little doubtful considering that all of the past Jack The Ripper victims had been murdered in whitechapel, including Victoria.

Yet, her gut feeling didn't waver even a bit, fighting against her doubtful mind, that was doubting that the man she saw murder the woman and Jack The Ripper was the same person.

Lady Melissa went back to her seat, her delicious meal just arriving soon after.

"Melissa, be on the lookout for whitechapel district, we can't take any chances."

The Duke firmly said, looking at her.

"Don't worry father, I'll make sure I'll be on the lookout for the whitechapel district."

Lady Melissa said, lying through her teeth.

Lady Melissa opened the lid of the dish, being greeted with the amazing aroma of the pasta, and it seemed delicious from first glance.

Lady Melissa slowly and gracefully ate her pasta, feeling that she had been acting too barbaric these past few days by how she had been eating her food.

Although she took much longer eating the pasta than usual, she got to enjoy the pasta more, and it's texture and the feeling it had given to Lady Melissa.

"Did you enjoy the meal, dear?"

The Duchess asked, staring at Lady Melissa, who happened to be using a napkin to wipe some of the pasta that stuck on her face.

"Yeah I did."

Lady Melissa replied, smiling at her mother.

"Unfortunately I have to go now mother and father, I have some lessons to attend to, I hope to see the both of you later."

Lady Melissa said, excusing herself before bowing down to her parents, as Lady Melissa was leaving the dining table, she heard a goodbye from her parents, smiling to herself.

'If I'm not wrong, the first lesson is...swordsmanship with Duchess Ella Rosera.'

Lady Melissa thought, exiting the room and heading outside to the Shayla estate's training place, specifically only for her, which was different from the knights headquarters.

Lady Melissa realised she had left her sword in the knights headquarters, quickly going there to retrieve it.

She was going to take the dummy's broken hand as well, hoping that nobody was in the area practicing already.

Fortunately, or unfortunately for Lady Melissa there was someone in the knights headquarters, practicing yet, it was only 2 or 3 people, so Lady Melissa hopefully wouldn't get caught.

Lady Melissa thought that the knights were supposed to be running first; before heading to the knights headquarters to practice, but she brushed it off.

As Lady Mrlissa was approaching the knights to get her sword, she heard them say something.

"You know Lady Melissa? I bet I could beat her in a duel, look at her, she might be the daughter of a noble but that's all she'll be! At the end of the day she's only a woman."

One of the knights said, and the second knight laughed at his line.

While the third knight tried to hint to them that Lady Melissa was in fact behind the three of them, and that the 2 knights should just shut up.

Unfortunately for the two knights, they didn't get the memo and ended up looking back, confused to what the third knight had been trying to tell them, and being faced with a very intimidating Lady Melissa staring right back into their souls.

"Good Morning to you knights as well! A wonderful thing to start the day by talking about me."

Lady Melissa said, sending the both of the knights glares, especially the first knight that had been talking about her.

"It's not like I'm scared of you, at the end of the day you're just a girl."

The first knight said, acting arrogant and confident, while the second knight stayed silent, silently panicking.

"Is that so?"

Lady Melissa asked, sarcasm dripping off of her voice.

"Why don't I challenge you to a duel? Since you're so sure you can defeat me, why don't we prove that theory out?"

Lady Melissa asked, challenging the knight to a duel, knowing that if the knight had declined the duel, he'd be made fun of by his teammates and friends.

"I accept your duel."

The knight said, believing that he would be able to defeat Lady Melissa as soon as the duel started.

"In fact, why don't we do the duel now? Right here, right now."

The knight challenged Lady Melissa, pointing at the knights headquarters and then pointing to both himself and Lady Melissa.

"Fine."

Lady Melissa replied, getting her sword before 'accidentally' hitting the sword right into the knight's head.

A few minutes later, the knight who had accepted Lady Melissa's duel, was on the other side of the corner, while Lady Melissa was on the other side of his corner.

"In the count of 3…..2…... 1…NOW.!"

The third knight shouted, being the referee to Lady Melissa and the first knight's duel, while the second knight sat down on the empty bench, both scared and anxious watching the duel.

Lady Melissa ran to the knight, with her sword on her right hand, while her left hand was filled with some dirt.

The knight ran as well to her, ready to attack Lady Melissa with his sword.

However before the knight could even do so, Lady Melissa had thrown the dirt she had previously picked up right into the knight's eyes.
