"Good."
The Duke replied, seeming satisfied with Lady Melissa's response.
"An-"
Just as Lady Melissa was about to say something her breakfast had finally arrived, covered in a lid, so Lady Melissa wouldn't be able to know what it was.
But whatever the heck it was, Lady Melissa knew she would love it after smelling it.
The servant slowly opened the tray's lid, and lo and behold it was cheeseburger with French fries on the side, and some sauces like cheese and chili to bring out the flavour of the French fries.
'Wonder when the chef will be able to dissapointed me.'
Lady Melissa thought, before shrugging her shoulders and thinking he'd probably never dissspoint her, until she dies.
"I'll eat now father, mother."
Lady Melissa said before using her hands to take the burger in front of her and put it in her mouth to chew it.
'Tastes good, like usual.'
Lady Melissa thought, after all anything the Shayla's personal chef made was always good.
" Looks delicious."
The Duchess said, staring at Lady Melissa's food.
"It doesn't only look delicious; it tastes delicious as well."
Lady Melissa replied, giving the Duchess a small wink.
"I should go now, or else I'll be stealing your food if I continue watching you eat it."
The Duchess said, excusing herself.
"Have a good day mother."
Lady Melissa shouted out right as the Duchess was leaving.
"Thanks, you too dear."
The Duchess replied, giving a warm smile to Lady Melissa.
"So…. I heard you and some guy met up a few days or weeks ago."
The Duke said, after making sure that the Duchess was nowhere in sight anymore and that it was just the two of them alone.
"Haha, what do you mean dad?"
Lady Melissa pretended not to know what the Duke was talking about, acting dumbfounded.
"You know exactly what I'm talking about Melissa Mendy Shayla."
The Duke scarily said, and Lady Melissa's heart started racing, she knew things would get serious when either one of her parents would use her full name.
"I'm not sure I'm catching on dad."
Lady Melissa sweetly said, putting a smile on her face in hopes he would just move on from the topic.
"Don't make me repeat it again now Melissa."
The Duke said with a calm tone, yet his words were intimidating.
"I know you bought those desserts for a boy."
The Duke said.
'OH MY G*D PHEW SO HE DOESNT KNOW ABOUT GASTON HE ONLY KNOWS ABOUT THE TIME I WENT TO LA VIEN EN ROSE AND BOUGHT LADY CELINE AND SOPHIA THE DESSERTS.'
Lady Melissa internally shouted at herself in her brain; if that was even humanly possible.
"Oh are you talking abouht the time I went to La Vien En Rose and bought a ton of desserts and sweets?"
Lady Melissa asked.
The Duke nodded his head in agreement indicating that he wanted Lady Melissa to continue her statement.
"I didn't buy them for a man dad, I bought them as a little gift for Lady Celine."
Lady Melissa confidently said, wearing a smirk on her face.
"Oh, so it was for the tea party then?"
The Duke quickly assumed.
"Yes dad."
Lady Melissa nodded her head.
"Good thing I didn't tell your mother then, you know she likes to gossip, her heart would break if she found out this wasn't true."
"HAHAHAHA."
Lady Melissa let out a big laugh, the sides of her stomach hurting from laughing too much.
"Anyways you should finish your french fries Melissa, or else they'll get cold and soggy."
The Duke said pointing towards the French fries that was indeed starting to get cold.
"Oh shit yeah, thanks for the reminder dad."
"LANGUAGE."
The Duke jokingly shouted.
Half-jokingly at least.
Within a few seconds Lady Melissa had finished the French fries, she had finished the cheeseburger as well earlier.
"I shall excuse myself now father, have a nice day."
"You too Melissa."
The Duke casually replied before going back to read his newspaper.
Lady Melissa walked up her room.
'That was a close call.'
Lady Melissa thought, luckily she hadn't accidentally expose herself or she would never live down the humiliation and embarrassment.
'One of father's many connections probably told him about where I was and what I was doing, I have to be more careful.'
Lady Melissa thought, biting her fingernails.
Luckily, Lady Melissa had a little trick up her sleeve, after all that was why she had read so much about alchemy in the library yesterday.
Shortly after, Lady Melissa had arrived in her room, quickly checking the clock to see the time.
It was now 11 30 AM, she hadn't even realised she spent so much time just eating breakfast and talking with her dad.
"I should probably take a shower now."
Lady Melissa said, talking to herself.
Lady Melissa quickly took a set of clothes from her changing room, deciding that she wouldn't wear a dress as she didn't know who she would be meeting later on in the afternoon.
She quickly rushed into the bathroom before taking a long warm bath and rinsing off her body.
'Looks like ill finally be able to test out some more serious alchemy spells later.'
Lady Melissa thought, excited that she would be able to try out the alchemy spell she had been eagerly reading about the whole night in the library.
'I hope it works.'
Lady Melissa thought, hoping that she didn't screw up the spell or anything.
If she did, she would have some consequences, which she desperately didn't want to deal with.
Lady Melissa quickly left the bathroom after changing into her clothes, she locked her bedroom door, making sure that nobody would be able to come in it and quickly enchanted a spell so that the entire room would be soundproof for the next 30 minutes.
Lady Melissa didn't want a single chance of anybody finding out what she was going to do, and that included the Duke, Duchess and even Sophia.
No matter what, she couldn't get caught or else she would have some serious explaining to do to her parents and Sophia.
