Chapter 1 - The Beginning

Before receiving his quill and ink, Lafayette Enfòwòñ and his family had lived comfortable lives, with the father known as the local scholar, and the mother, a waiter at the local pub.

The boy loved to read the material his dad had tucked away most of the time, finding the studies of the outside world a marvel. Most of all, he loved hearing the tales of adventures from afar from those who stopped at the pub from all over the world. It made him wish for it himself.

Though his parents wouldn't let him explore the world, on his 16th birthday, they got him a quill and ink. The quill itself had a silver tip, along with various markings along the side of it he couldn't read.

He also got a notebook to record all of his thoughts and such. He loved it all. Instantly, he started to craft stories of his own, often inspired by the lands of his mother's tales & his dad's scrolls.

However, one night, the town bells rang, and all of a sudden he was thrust into his parent's shoulders, forced to leave everything, including his stories behind. After many weeks of running, they arrived at the Local Province Capital. His family was given preference due to his father's scholarly role and thus managed to live comfortably yet again.

However, the boy still wished with all of his might that he could still get his quill and ink, along with his notebook. One night, when his parents had celebrated a bit too much, he rode off into the night.

Unlike the journey to get to the capital, the boy remembered the route. Within a few days, he managed to arrive.

The town was ruined. The only things left were the bones of structures burned down and the dirt path.

He nearly turned back, knowing the search would be hopeless. But, all of a sudden, the air started nipping at him. The ground beneath him shook a little. He started to dig on the site of his old home. Within a few minutes, a brilliant light of green and purple showered the area, with the quill and notebook in his grasp.

As he looked around to thank the spirit that had helped him, the light vanished. Out of nowhere, the inscriptions on the pen started to glow the same colors, with his ability to suddenly able to read what he thought were scribbles shocking him.

All it said was "Write your destiny."
