Chapter 23 - 23. Kindness (2)

The principal had really regretted his whimsical decision to support the student body and choosing to give them authority on the campus. If he could, he'd love to puke out all his bitter regrets, but unfortunately, the damage was done.

Even the vice-principal protested against Kim Suyoung. He was haughty, pointing fingers and declaring that the kid was simply attempting to seize power in the campus and instill deep fears in others, but some time ago, the vice-principal had long stopped responding to his calls and messages.

He even found the vice-principal's office completely wiped out.

The principal wondered if he'll ever see his face again.

"The young master thinks that you could be a useful person to him," Irene looked down and said softly, yet her voice sent daggers to his heart.

"Heh… hehe… Th-thank you for the kind words…"

"He hopes that this kind of mistake won't ever happen again. This sort of thing, he doesn't like it. Do you understand?"

The principal gulped, cold sweat dripping from his body in endless pools.

"O-of course! I'll see to it that this won't ever happen again…!" the principal gave a strong and loud reply.

nodded her head.

"Any worse and the V Group's public image would have been damaged extremely so due to your wanton carelessness. For someone like you, I'm sure that you care highly about your image, isn't that right?"

The principal nodded vigorously as if his head couldn't wait to fall off.

"Yes! Yes!" the principal mouthed words in agreement in a hurry.

This woman before him… her voice was calm and she didn't look the least bit threatening, yet… yet… everything about her screamed danger—that if need be, she'll send him to the depths of an icy-cold frozen hell.

He wanted to run, to escape, but he didn't dare make a move without her permission.

"Fix the damage you caused. And the chairman's constantly looking over the young master who's next in line to inherit many wealth and possessions. It was thanks to the young master's benevolence and generosity that you're not…"

Irene didn't say the last words.

She didn't need to.

However, the principal understood what she meant and perfectly so.

Death.

"Uguhhh…."

The principal sank to the floor in heavy tears.

It mattered not to Irene whether his tears were genuine or that he cried crocodile tears. She was only satisfied with the outcome that went according to Suyoung's orders and vision.

Irene stared at the tearful principal for a moment before turning around and slinking into the shadows.

She was aware that what she had done today wasn't lawfully legal. However, a sense of happiness and satisfaction filled her core.

Irene went home directly afterwards.

Just as she arrived at the main building to deliver the report, she saw children swiftly rushing out of the garden.

"Huh? Noona! You're back!"

"Noona! I miss you, Noona!"

They were Irene's little sister and brother who were currently in primary school and middle school.

Irene's father was a patient in the hospital due to a severe illness. The same could be said for her mother as well.

They had been admitted there immediately due to an industrial accident occurring in the surrounding areas of the Gates.

Because her parents' medical insurance wasn't enough to pay the accumulated bills while in the hospital, she didn't have much choice but to take care of the family.

Left with nothing, she gave up her desired career and set her eyes to the V Group where annual income was high.

However, even though she's being paid well, it wasn't enough to pay for her parents' medical bill.

Still, she didn't need to worry about it now.

But…

Irene furrowed her eyes slightly, glaring at her little siblings.

Only

"I told you not to come out of the garden."

"Suyoung oppa said that it's alright! He even said that we could bring friends here anytime to play!"

Irene was surprised.

"The young master did?"

Her siblings beamed a wide smile.

"That's right, that's right! He even said that we'll have a deliciously cooked beef for oppa's birthday!"

Irene couldn't help but smile a little seeing the bright, innocent smile on her little brother and sister's face.

Seeing them so happy made her heart feel warm and fuzzy.

At first, Irene thought Kim Suyoung was a terrible man. What were the good points about him? She couldn't see it. He was arrogant, flawed, and was prone to acting to his own will.

He never quite overstepped his line, but he'd come close to it every time.

'However…'

That was just him keeping a low profile.

After he woke up that day, Kim Suyoung became a completely different person.

It was as if he had bided his time, waiting for that moment to come this whole time and changing to a completely different person the moment it happened.

Irene was a C-Ranked awakened and even she wasn't able to see through Kim Suyoung's act.

Every time she reported Kim Suyoung's changes to the chairman, he'd simply laugh as if he already knew of this ahead of time.

'However, him showing so much affection towards people is…'

Was that simply his strength or weakness?

After Kim Suyoung realized Irene's household situation, he paid every medical bills she had for her entire family and even provided her a house by building a place next to the main building.

She then thought of the documents Kim Suyoung showed her. Inside the documents was a list of things that every employee in the mansion was worrying about.

At first, the maids that worked in the mansion all glared at Kim Suyoung with fervent hatred in their eyes, but in the end, they saw his true personality and cried in apology for their whimsical mistakes and for misunderstanding the young master when he ended up helping the troubles they faced in their personal lives.

A similar thing happened with Song Aera and the bullying incident she faced as well.

The principal and the order of the campus grounds came completely under Kim Suyoung's banner. It became his personal playground. He didn't need to take the issue that far for Song Aera, yet he did.

When Chairman Kim Shin jong read the report, he smiled, saying that it was nice to see his blood so spirited, that this is how he should be like.

The university was all people around Kim Suyoung's age. It's normal to have many toys he could play with however he should so wish—was what the chairman thought.

'…So a university filled with the top minds and talents is merely a toy and a playground to them… huh…'

Irene bit her lips, her thoughts a little disorganized from what she was feeling. She took a deep breath and calmed down before heading towards the main building.

As Kim Suyoung had a busy and tiring schedule, she had assumed that he'd be resting, but what she saw was far from the opposite. She found him doing extremely painful levels of intensive exercise, one that would make Irene—the calmest person Suyoung knew—to wince just by looking at it.

At this point, his exercise was closer to torture.

It was as if she was seeing a butterfly larvae escaping from its cocoon and spreading its newborn wings and flapping as hard it possibly could.

Moreover, his body was already close to becoming a warrior's body.

"Young master," Irene called out.

"Irene, you're here!" Suyoung beamed. "How's the situation?"

Irene nodded.

"I believe that it's not something you'll need to worry about in the future. Once Song Aera receives regular medication, she'll be fully recovered in no time."

"That's good. Make sure she's treated well," Suyoung said.

"Understood."

Breathing heavily, Suyoung stopped the intensive exercise and slumped his back on a chair comfortably.

Irene brought him a drink and a towel, Suyoung accepted it with thanks.

"Park Sungho and all his associated and underlings have all been eliminated. Park Sungho especially… he had a colorful background and he would surely shine brightly in the future, but now, he'll no longer be able t walk around in public unless it's under court orders. His place in society is no more and the people are better without him."

Suyoung nodded. "I see."
