Chapter 27 - Epilogue

Wrath sat on his rock deep in thought, 'how did they get QuiverWing? she's too smart to get tricked but that's what Needles patrols told me' he flicked his tail, "ow" Scorch said.

"Sorry" he turned around.

"Still upset about it" Scorch sighed and he looked equally worried.

"But how?" Wrath cried.

"I don't know... but I can't help but blame myself, if I didn't have the day off I would be the one out looking for herns not her" Scorch snapped his jaw shut.

"No, she would still be out looking for herbs and you know that" Wrath rested his wing on his shoulder, it means brothers.

"I know but I can't help but feel guilty" he snifiled, "aa stupid cold, we're still out of peppers".

"So this sickness isn't going any time soon" Wrath tried to joke.

"No" Scorch chuckled.

"Can I admit something to you?" Wrath asked, 'well he is the only kin to QuiverWing so I might as well' he thought.

"Sure what is it?" Scorch nodded.

"I like QuiverWing, more than friends and since you're the only kin she has I feel right with you knowing" Wrath flicked his tail.

"Really, I mean it seems unlikely as you looked like you hated her back when she killed that dragon hunter" Scorch stuttered.

"I was mad don't get me wrong, but over time I saw the real her you know" Wrath tilted his head.

"So what are you gona do? how are you gona get her back?" Scorch changed the subject.

"I don't know, our patrols said that she is in a high security pit on the East side of the mountain" he explained.

"No easy task then huh" Scorch sighed.

"Yep we're in for a fight when we try" Wrath agreed.

"We shouldn't try in the winter, we don't have much herbs to heal any injuries and the sickness is getting worse" Scorch waved his head around in a distressed manner.

"I see, we should try in spring or if not and we get lucky with herbs, sooner" Wrath fiddled with his claws, 'maby try to save my nephew if he's still alive' he thought and growled in his throat.

"Miss her that much" Scorch teased.

"Really I tell one secret and you have to teas me about it" Wrath shoot at Scorch.

"Sorry I couldn't resist" he giggled.

"So what is QuiverWing to you, I mean is she a daughter, granddaughter or what?" Wrath generally wanted to know.

"Oh umm... I urr... umm" Scorch opened and closed his jaw.

"Sorry was that a sensitive question" Wrath tilted her head, 'now I want to know more about sky keepers' he thought.

"Kinda, it's not a question I get asked much" Scorch shrugged.

"Oh then what do you think we should do, I tried to lay low, I tried to fight back and I even tried to make it look like we moved island" Wrath flicked his tail.

"I think the laying low is working" Scorch admitted, "what makes you think it's not working?"

"QuiverWing getting captured" Wrath answered.

"Oh, but that's the only thing that happened and she was out in the open" Scorch comforted him.

"I know but-" he was cut off.

"Keep laying low it'll work" Scorch advised.

"You should take the thrown" Wrath could see him as the new king.

"No" Scorch shook his head, "I can be go to but I'm no good at the thrown, I rely on someone giving me orders, it's just how I was raised" he explained.

"So who do you think should take the thrown?, I'm sure they'll make you go to" Wrath asked.

"I don't know you seem like a good leader" Scorch shrugged.

"I am but... I'm not the best" Wrath shook his head.

"Well, I haven't thought of the topic much, give it time and we'll all find one we trust" Scorch advised.

"Go to I can see it" Wrath nodded, kinda joking.

"Ha very funny" Scorch faked laughed.

"So what was your old king like?" Wrath asked.

"He was fare, keeped everyone happy, had a lot of wisdom and knew a lot about herbs and how to heal dragons" Scorch explained.

"Do you want someone like him back on the thrown?" Wrath asked.

"Yes but his bloodline died out a long time ago" Scorch sighed.

"Aren't you his blood" Wrath asked.

"Yes but not purely his blood" Scorch explained.

"Oh I see" Wrath felt a little stupid.

"Anyway prey centre is running low so you should set a hunting party" Scorch reported.

"Oh, can you tell the ice thangs that I sent them on a hunting party?, they can't get colds and so it'll keep the sickness at bay" Wrath asked.

"Sure but we need heating that'll keep this sickness at bay" Scorch advised.

"Right" Wrath nodded, he then went to the sleeping chambers were a the of fire spits liv. He nocked on the side, "come in" Volo said.

"Can you work on heating? it'll help the sick dragons" Wrath asked.

"Sure thing" Father stretched, and the others followed him. 'Would it be anuff? would it help stop or contain the sickness?' Wrath though, 'these dragons relie on me and I cannot fail them' he felt determined to keep these dragons safe. Wrath went to the library, it was almost done it only needs a few extra things. "Needle!" he called out to his friend.

"Wrath nice to see you" he greeted but then sneezed.

"You too huh" Wrath blinked.

"Yeo but I had the cold before and I'll be fine" Needle dismissed his worries.

"So the library is almost done" Wrath looked around feeling proud.

"Yep just a few things to do, but I need to ask you something" Needle looked at Wrath with a worried expression.

"Sure go on" Wrath sat down.

"I'm worried about my flock, they are all sick and not use to the humid cold, can you get some sort of heating for them?" Needle explained.

"Already done the fire spits are working on it as we speak" Wrath smiled.

"Oh good then let's get this library done" Needle picked up the stone slabs and built a new shelf. Wrath spent the rest of the day working on the library and helping the acatinal dragon with a problem. At the end of the day he went to the prey centre and saw that Scorch was right, they were low on food. He ate a quick meal and went to the main cave were it was much warmer and all the dragons were resting near many of the heating. He saw a group of clouds slashers and sent them on a sneak patrol to Petles mountain, like he would always do since QuiverWing got captured. 'Maby we'll find someone new, hopefully' Wrath knew that he was getting desperate at this point.
