Chapter 2 - My Rich Uncle is Handsome and Cool

Outside the door, Bob exclaimed, "Steve! How are you here!"

Steve said to Bob in his cold and oppressive voice, "Open the door!"

Bob said awkwardly, "I didn't close it..."

But before he could finish his sentence, I had already opened the door. Before anyone could react, I hugged Steve and said, "Uncle! I knew you wouldn't abandon me!"

Although Steve and Sheila had never met before, at this moment, I called him "Uncle" with such sincerity that even the cold-faced Steve froze for a moment.

He hesitated before calling out, "Sheila?"

I rubbed myself against his chest. He smelled of very good, high-grade perfume. He had good taste.

I raised my head again and stole a glance at his face.

Little Sheila had seen a picture of Steve in her mother's photo album. He was a tall, handsome man with a serious expression.

He looked exactly the same as he did in the picture. He just looked more mature. He was still very handsome!

Having such an uncle was great!

I couldn't help but rub against him again. "Uncle, I've been waiting for you for a long time. You're finally here! Wow!"

I started to cry in Steve's arms with my great acting skills. Then, I started to tell him about Bob's "Good deeds" one by one. "Just now, Uncle Bob gave me a cup of water and told me to take a shower. In the end, I fell asleep in the bathtub... I almost drowned... Sob, sob, sob."

Steve seemed to be quite puzzled. This was the first time he was meeting his niece. Why was she acting as if she was so close to him?

However, he was obviously more concerned about the information that I revealed, and he frowned. "What else did he do?"

"Sob, sob, sob... I saw Uncle Bob doing something bad with that aunt... I was very scared, so I took a picture and sent it to Aunt Dana... In the end, they fought, and Uncle Bob said that he wanted to deal with me, so I hid in the bathroom and didn't come out..."

My voice sounded so weak and pitiful, as if I had been wronged, and tears welled up in my eyes.

Bob panicked and quickly pointed at me, trembling, and shouted, "No! She's talking nonsense!"

But Steve didn't even look at him. He took out his cell phone, made a call, and called his assistant who was waiting outside.

He gave his assistant a look. "Call the police and have them investigate what he gave Sheila."

Bob was so scared that his face turned pale. It was obvious that he wanted to run away. "This... this is a misunderstanding. How can you believe what a five-year-old kid says?"

But Steve only gave him a faint look. He lifted me up and hugged me in his arms. "I believe you," he said coldly.

Bob wanted to defend himself, but he was held down by a few bodyguards called by Steve's assistant.

The assistant ordered coldly, "Stay put! Wait for the police to come and take you away!"

So, five minutes later, I smoothly left in Steve's car.

As soon as I got in the car, Steve kept a "safe distance" from me, and his expression returned to his usual indifference. "I hate children very much. Don't come near me. I'll send you to your Aunt Janet's."

When I heard that, I immediately shook my head like a rattle-drum and looked at him pitifully. "I don't want to go... Cousin Jacqueline always bullies me."

That was the truth. Otherwise, wouldn't I have chosen to contact Aunt Janet just now?

Steve looked back at me. "So you want to go back to your old life?"

I still shook my head. "There are too many bad people in Dad's family. I don't want to go back."

A sharp glint flashed in Steve's eyes. "Then what are you going to do? Do you want to live with me?"

I immediately nodded like a chicken pecking at rice, but I didn't dare to crawl into his arms like before. I only looked carefully into his eyes, "Uncle, you're now my most trusted relative. They all say that you're especially good to my mother..."

When Steve heard me mention my mother, an unnoticeable sadness flashed in his eyes. He quickly recovered and looked at me sternly, "Then do you know that it's because of your father that I've been cut off from her for five years?"

Steve's eyes were filled with the hatred of having his sister taken away.

It seemed that in his eyes, I was the main culprit who caused his relationship with my mother to fall apart.

However, I didn't give up so easily. Instead, I became more and more courageous. "But my mother has always missed you. Otherwise, how would I have remembered your phone number and known what you look like? Uncle, I will stay by your side in place of my mother."

Steve paused for a moment. His eyes were slightly red, but he didn't reply.

I shook his hand and acted coquettishly. "Uncle."

Steve finally said to the driver in the front seat, "Turn around and take her home."
