Chereads / Pokemon Adventures / Chapter 2 - Aloha, Alola

Chapter 2 - Aloha, Alola

Alright, here's another chapter. Note: I don't own Pokemon and its anime. But this is ep. 1 from the Sun and Moon anime, not exactly copied verbatim, but enjoy nonetheless.

"Oh yeah!" Ash shouted.

"Pedo" the pokemon Ash was riding whooped in response.

Currently, Ash was riding a Sharpedo through the gentle waves of Alola. The smile on Ash's face proved that he was having fun and the screaming Pikachu on his shoulder proved that as well. And now Ash and Sharpedo would jump from a few waves and causing a splash. They would twist and turn every few meters as if they were running from something.

"Get back here,"

Looking back, Ash could see Keldeo running behind them. Ash's grin widened as he saw Keldeo's smile along with Keldeo catching up to him. Ash had an idea so he slowed the Sharpedo as he saw a wave approaching. Keldeo questioned what Ash was doing as he was right next to him. Keldeo didn't have time to react as Ash went high into the sky before crashing down, splashing him with water.

Keldeo did a double-take as he saw Ash sped up again, laughing while doing so. Keldeo huffed in annoyance and sped up to where Ash was. Seeing this Ash tapped Sharpedo, asking it to, "Go full throttle,"

The pokemon nodded as it sped up as ordered, it then jumped into the ocean. Keldeo skidded to a stop as he looked around for any sign of Ash's reemergence. Seeing that Ash won't do so in a while, Keldeo decided that he would wait and see where Ash would pop up.

All the while, Ash eyed the coral reefs which were full of pokemon. He would switch gazes from a school of pokemon to another pokemon swimming above him. He soon swam by a new pokemon which Ash never saw before. He gave it a little pet and in response the pokemon wiggle. Ash smiled in wonder toward the new pokemon but sadly he could feel his breath run out. So he tapped the Sharpedo to reemerge for air.

Once emerging, Ash could see a Lapras idly drifting. On top of the Lapras did Ash notice a lone girl, fishing. Ash watched on as the girl, also noticing a little blue pokemon beside her, reeled in her fishing rod. Ash thought nothing of it until a pokemon suddenly emerged from the ocean, scaring him off the Sharpedo.

"Pika?" Pikachu asked in concern as he saw Ash fell into the water, the girl and her pokemon looking in concern.

Ash emerged from the water and this time clung to the Sharpedo for leverage as he caught his breath. The blue-haired girl and the pokemon giggled at Ash's misfortune which made Ash blush in embarrassment. But that went away as he and Pikachu laughed along as well.

Ash thought nothing to the girl as he and Pikachu left for the docks that they got the Sharpedo. Seeing the docks, they parked the Sharpedo and soon stood on the docks, talking to the woman who organized pokemon for water rides. Ash thanked her for the fun ride and also thanked Sharpedo for the ride.

Ash and Pikachu walked toward the beach area that connected to the docks, that was until a voice interrupted them.

"Ash get back here!"

Looking back, Ash and Pikachu froze at seeing Keldeo charging at them. So the only thing they thought was to simply run. So that's what they did.

It didn't take long for Keldeo to catch up as he was right next to Ash. Ash didn't say anything as he understood that Keldeo knew that they were simply having fun. Ash looked to his left and noticed tried to run past Ash.

Ash grinned as he declared out loud to both pokemon, "I challenge you both to a race!"

No words were spoken as all three tried to outrun each other across the beach. Keldeo, purposely slowing down knowing that he can catch up easily, took time to notice the beautiful beach and its occupants. 'Truly paradise,' Keldeo thought in his mind as he sped up again, easily catching up with Ash and Pikachu.

What Keldeo, nor Ash, and Pikachu notice was that in front of them seemed to be a pokemon sleep peacefully. It abruptly shook awake as Ash suddenly stepped on its tail. Ash turned around and let out an apology.

The pokemon let out an angry meow and shot a flaming ball of fire. The fireball launched and contacted Ash's face, making him fall to the floor. The pokemon walked away after that as it was seething to itself while eyeing Ash.

Pikachu tried to touch Ash's face to see if he was alright but reeled his hand back as Ash's face was hot to the touch. Keldeo trotted forward and raised a hoof. The hoof let out a gentle spray of water, cooling Ash's face.

"You ok?" Keldeo asked.

"Never better," was all Ash could say, grinning.

Getting up, Ash ran off to where his mother was vacating, Pikachu and Keldeo following him. Now about the region where Ash is currently vacating is the Alola Region. A delicate island nation, full of life, tradition, and pokemon. All of these combined would equate to a perfect place for a vacation.

That's what Ash's mother was thinking as well. She could smell the fresh air, and enjoy the taste of her juice while laying down on a chair. Beside her was her pokemon, a Mr. Mime, also enjoying a drink.

"Isn't this nice? The hot sun, the cool air, and the people around. It feels just like home,"

"Mr. Mime" her pokemon responded, raising its glass and then sipping the contents.

"Mom! Mom!" Ash yelled, catching her attention.

Looking up, Delia could see her son running towards her with Pikachu and that other pokemon friend of his.

"Yes, Ash?" she responded, lifting her gaze towards Ash.

Ash stopped in front of his mother with an excited expression on his face. Keldeo and Pikachu soon caught up with Ash, they too had a smile on their faces. Seeing this Delia asked her son, "Did you have fun with Pikachu and Keldeo?"

"Uh-huh, we went skiing with a Sharpedo until we play a game of chase. It was so cool, I got to see a lot of cool pokemon." Ash explained, imitating himself swimming.

"That seems wonderful Ash," Delia replied.

"I know right,"

"Yes, but now we have to deliver this egg to prof. Oaks cousin now remember?" Delia asked.

"Oh yeah, I remember," Ash confirmed.

"Ash remembers something?" Keldeo whispered to Pikachu, earning a giggle from the mouse pokemon. This also made Delia and her pokemon chuckle as well, leaving as fuming by himself.

"Well, let's get going," Delia said, making Ash forget about Keldeo's jab.

Walking up to a curbside, Delia waved a carrier to their spot. The person saw the wave and trotted over to the group. Delia asked the carrier for a tour, to which he agreed upon and beckoned the group to hop on.

Mr. Mime, Delia, Ash, and Pikachu sat in the carrier while Keldeo had to walk alongside. The carrier called the pokemon, that being a Tauros, to head forward toward the Alolan city.

Moving through the city, the carrier began to give a tour of the ways of Alola. He talked about how people use pokemon for transport, day-to-day activities, and whatnot. Ash took all the information with excitement, now wanting to learn more about the Alola region. All the while, Pikachu would be too busy playing with the tail of the Tauros, which was playfully flicking side to side. And Keldeo was observing the buildings and stands belonging to the city.

The carrier finished his tour as he looked forward, guiding the Tauros to their destination. But now that Ash is thinking about it, what was the destination? Ash looked up to his mother and asked, "Hey mom, where are we taking the egg?"

"To the Pokemon School, that's where prof. Oaks cousin works," Delia answered.

"A Pokemon School?"

Delia was going to explain what the Pokemon School was until a hand tapped her knee which took her attention.

"Mime, Mime,"

Looking at her pokemon, Delia could see her pokemon pointed at the row of fruits on display. "My would you look at all these berries,"

Looking past her, Ash and Pikachu looked in wonder at the fruit. They eyed Delia, asking to get some berries to eat. Delia let out a giggle as she politely asked the carrier to stop. He did as he beckoned the group goodbye.

The carrier left, leaving the group to look and pick out the fruits on display. It wasn't until then did Ash notice a popsicle stand. Ash had a sparkle in his eye as he began to walk toward the stand. Confused, Keldeo stalked behind Ash, wondering what's got him distracted.

Looking back, Keldeo could see Pikachu ogling over fruits with Mr. Mime and Ash's mom. He hummed and went back to following Ash. Walking next to Ash, Keldeo spoke about what's on his mind, "Hey Ash where are you going?"

This snapped Ash out of his trance as he now looked at Keldeo next to him. Ash gave his answer, "I'm going to get a popsicle. Do you want one?"

"Uh, what's a popsicle?"

This shocked Ash as he asked Keldeo, "Do you not know what a popsicle is?"

"No, I never tried it at all," Keldeo admitted, looking away in embarrassment.

Ash ruffed Keldeo's mane as he let out a smile before stating, "Well don't worry, you'll find out soon. Come on!"

Ash continued toward the stand, Keldeo alongside him, as he waited in line. Ash was beaming at what sort of flavor he should get, all the while Keldeo looked over the line of people to see the flavoring of the popsicle. Keldeo looked over to Ash as he boasted about how good ice cream is.

"Alright Keldeo, today you're going to find out how great a popsicle is. Just you wait,"

"Is it that good?"

"Of course it is," Ash quickly answered before they were finally next to the order.

"Hey Ash," Keldeo called out; Ash stopped what he was doing before looking at Keldeo, "I don't know what flavor I want,"

"It's alright, well share one," Ash said, before turning and ordering a popsicle.

The person, owning the stand, gave a single popsicle to Ash. The only noticeable thing about the popsicle was that it had two wooden sticks in the bottom. Keldeo tilted his head in confusion, that was until Ash grabbed both sticks and pulled. Magically, the popsicle split into equal twos.

Ash licked his popsicle with one hand while he shared the other with Keldeo. Keldeo walked up to the sweet treat and gave a lick. Immediately, Keldeo's face turned from uncertainty to amazement. Keldeo licked again and again until he and Ash finished their popsicle.

"That was good," Keldeo commented.

"Yeah, I knew you would enjoy it," Ash said.

"Pikachu?"

Looking back, Ash could find Pikachu staring at them, wondering what they're up to. Ash grinned and beckoned Pikachu to come over. The mouse pokemon did just that and was soon upon Ash's shoulder. Ash gave Pikachu a reassuring pat.

Walking to the middle of the street, with Keldeo trotting behind as well, Ash suddenly stopped as the ground right next to him tore open and a pokemon emerged from it.

"Oh wow, what is that!?" Ash questioned as he got a closer look at it.

The pokemon seemed to be a bug type and had huge pincers on top of its head, ready for use. And it did just that as Ash got close to it. It lunged and pinched Ash's nose and let go before any of Ash's pokemon realized what happened.

The pokemon landed on the ground and burrowed from the hole it came from. It began to dig off the road and towards the forest.

"Quick let's catch it!" Ash yelled out as he chased the pokemon. Pikachu and Keldeo quickly followed along beside him. This left behind a very confused mother as she didn't know where Ash ran off to.

Off in the distance, a floating pokemon was observing Ash from afar.

In the forest, Pikachu led the group as they followed the fleeing pokemon. Keldeo was behind, and Ash was the last of the group. Panting Ash called out, "Hey, slow down!"

Neither pokemon obeyed as they continued forward. But Ash slowed a bit as he shivered, feeling that he was being watched somehow. And he was correct as the pokemon's eyes glowed blue but kept out of Ash's sight.

Ash sped up again towards the two pokemon and was sad to learn that the pokemon trail had ended. "Aw man, better luck next time," Ash panted, stopping on his run.

"Yeah, if we were a little bit faster, we would've caught it," Keldeo said.

It was then that Ash suddenly reached upward with his hand and suddenly caught a fruit the was falling. Both pokemon looked in awe as to how did Ash know that fruit was falling on him. But Ash shrugged, continuing to look up only to be started as the trees above him shook and then stopped.

Looking around, Ash noticed that he was lost, so he asked his partners, "Where are we?"

Both Keldeo and Pikachu could shrug as they too didn't know where they are. Sighing, Ash gave the fruit to Pikachu, to which the pokemon happily ate.

Suddenly Ash heard the rustling again, this time from a bush. Getting ready, Pikachu and Keldeo stood firm, ready for anything. They all slowly dropped their guard as a pink pokemon emerged from the bush.

"Aw, how cute," Ash commented.

The pokemon noticed Ash and began to wave its arm. This drew Ash in as he cooed out, "Aw it wants a hug,"

"Uh, Ash. I don't think that's what it means," Keldeo stated but it was too late. As Ash got closer to the pokemon, it squealed and swung its arms into a nearby tree and chopped it in half. Ash nearly tripped himself as he was surprised by the pokemon's strength. The pokemon continued to rampage as it knocked down every tree in its sight. That was until it spotted Ash again.

Backing up slowly, Ash tried to keep his eyes on the pokemon and tried not to panic. The same could be said for both his pokemon. He heard Keldeo, whimpering beside him.

"Now what?" Keldeo asked.

The wild pokemon got into a stance, forcing Ash to quickly yell out, "Run away!"

All three of them bolted, the bear-like pokemon giving chase. Looking back, Ash could shriek in fear as the chasing pokemon was breaking trees along its way and was slowly gaining upon them. They kept on running for a good while, not knowing that the bear pokemon stopped chasing them.

It took them a while to notice this as all three of them jumped over a wooden fence and landed on sandstone concrete. Looking forward, Ash was amazed to see that he was inside a pokemon school.

Running toward a lone girl with three pokemon by her side, the girl noticed this and called out to Ash, "No wait!"

"Ash look out!" Keldeo shouted behind Ash.

Looking to his left, Ash could barely scream as he was run over by a herd of Tauros. Each of the Tauros being ridden by students. The students riding the Tauros immediately stopped and turned back to the flattened Ash Ketchum.

"Sorry! You came out of nowhere and we couldn't stop our Tauros," a girl with green hair apologized.

Getting up, with the help of Keldeo nudging him, Ash gave out an embarrassed laugh and answered back, "It's alright I'm good at dealing with Tauros. You see I have a herd of Tauros at home,"

It was then that the blond girl from before backed away in fear, even letting out a squeal, as the Tauros began to converge on Ash and began to moo out their apologies. Ash rubbed their noses as he accepted their apologies, but he focused his attention on the blond girl freaking out over Pikachu, whom she nearly stepped on.

"Are you afraid of pokemon?" Ash asked.

"N-no, I love pokemon. Just from a research point of view,"

"Wait, you're scared of pokemon?" Keldeo stammered as he walked beside the girl.

"Did you just talk!?" she squealed out.

"Um... yeah," Keldeo responded.

The blond girl did a double-take before fainting. Luckily one of the other students got to her quickly. They waved Ash away so that she could get some space. Ash obliged and moved on towards the green-haired girl. Ash suddenly noticed that next to her was the blue-haired girl from earlier today.

"Hey, it's you," Ash pointed at the blue-haired girl.

"Yeah, from the ocean when I was fishing," she clarified.

Ash nodded, making the girl smile.

"Well, my name is Ash Ketchum, from Pallet Town of the Kanto region," Ash introduced himself before introducing his pokemon, "And this is my partner Pikachu and Keldeo,"

"Pika-pi"

"Hello," Keldeo greeted.

"Wow, a talking pokemon," a chubby kid yelled out in awe.

"Yep. Uh, mind telling me your names," Ash asked.

"Oh well, my name is Lana,"

"My name is Mallow, and this is Sophocles," Mallow introduces along with the Sophocles next to her.

"And her as well?" Ash asked again.

"That there is Lillie,"

"I see, thank you," Ash thanked. Looking around, Ash knew that this was a pokemon school. He could tell by the number of kids and pokemon together. He could see the entrance and beyond it was a courtyard. For Ash it was alright, being the first pokemon school he had ever been to.

"So now, back to the talking pokemon," Sophocles urged to the group.

"Oh yeah, this is Keldeo. One of my best friends. Also a water type. He likes to hang around with me and Pikachu," Ash explained to Sophocles.

But Keldeo being a water type caught Lana's attention. She got a closer look at Keldeo, all the while the colt pokemon could hide by Ash. Ash chuckled at this and asked Lana if she liked water-type pokemon. She eagerly agreed as she usually fishes in the ocean, going for water-type pokemon.

"Well, that's enough introductions for now, lets go. I'll show you around," Mallow said as she took hold of Ash's arm and walked him toward the school.

Keldeo and Pikachu followed along and with that, the rest of the group, and the now conscious Lillie began to converse among each other. After a while, Ash was soon outside the door to the principal of the school.

She knocked on the door, calling out to the person behind, "Hello, the new student is here!"

"Wait, wait, wait, I'm not a student" Ash tried to explain.

He couldn't finish as the door opened, revealing a Mr. Mime and behind the Pokemon was Ash's mom.

"Oh hey Ash, glad you've made it," his mother greeted, pulling a confused Ash into a hug.

"Wait, what's..."

Ash didn't get to finish again as another person, a male with darkish skin, walked out of the room and introduced himself. He was the principal, and Ash knew it, but he didn't know his name.

"Hello Ash, my name is Samson Oak. Prof. Oaks brother," the principal introduced to himself.

He then proceeded to mock a pokemon and then walked back inside, with his mother following behind him. This made Ash, Mallow, Pikachu, and Keldeo look on in stupor at the man's recent mockery. Mallow jabbed Ash's side and explained that the principal likes to mock pokemon as jokes. Ash could sigh as he hoped that he won't experience more of this.

They all sighed and went inside. Once inside, they sat on a nearby couch where Ash and Mallow began to talk with one another. All the while, Pikachu, Keldeo, and Mr. Mine began to enjoy each other's company, but not without Mallow's pokemon, which was known as a Bounsweet.

"Hey there! It's me, I got your egg safe and sound!" Samson spoke out loud, interrupting Ash and Mallow.

Looking at the principal, they could see him talking to a tv screen. They would've asked what he was doing, but the screen changed into a live feed of Prof. Oak of the Kanto region. "Oh thank goodness that it's safe. Thank you, Delia and you to Ash,"

"Your welcome," Ash's mom replied.

It was then that Mallow decided to interrupt the conversation, "Principal Oak, would you mind if I show Ash the classroom?"

"Of course! Go on then,"

"You ready Ash?"

"Of course I am," Ash answered back, he then turned to his pokemon, "Come on Pikachu, Keldeo,"

Ash got up with Mallow and a second later they were out the door with their pokemon following them. They soon found themselves in the classroom. Mallow walked inside and told Ash, "Now, this is our classroom,"

"Woah," was all that Ash said.

Looking inside the classroom, Ash noticed that the room was circular. There were two rows of tables and chairs. And in the head of the class was a chalkboard. There was a balcony in the class as well.

Seeing the balcony, Ash and Keldeo ran to the edge and was amazed to see the high view of the school grounds. Ash could see the field where he got ran over by the Tauros. There was also a lake on the school grounds.

"This is amazing, right Keldeo, Pikachu," Ash said.

Pikachu nodded his head in agreement and Keldeo voiced his amazement, "Yeah it's amazing,"

Standing on his hind legs, Keldeo could feel the wind blow his mane. The air passing through his nose. He could understand why Alola was paradise because it was paradise.

Ash smiled and rubbed Keldeo's mane. Keldeo turned to look at Ash. Ash did the same and gave him a comforting smile. Keldeo smiled in return and leaned into Ash. Ash chuckled, but the voice of Mallow interrupted them, "Wow, you guys must have a really deep bond. But I wonder, how come you can talk, Keldeo?"

"Well, I am a..."

"Why hello there Mallow!" a new voice interrupted Keldeo.

Looking back, the group could see a well-toned male walking towards them, his hand waving them his greeting. Mallow seemed to brighten up from the sight of him. It was evident as she called out to him, "Aloha Prof. Kukui!"

"Professor?" both Ash and Keldeo exclaimed.

"Yeah, he's our teacher," Mallow stated before turning to the professor and continued the introduction, "Prof. Kukui, this is Ash and his pokemon,"

"Principal Oak just filled me in," Prof. Kukui said as he walked up towards Ash.

"Nice to meet you, Ash," Kukui greeted as he extended his hand. Ash took it and was amazed by the professor's strength.

"Pikachu,"

Prof. Kukui turned his attention away from Ash as he solely focused on Pikachu. "Wow, so this is your partner Pikachu. An unlikely starter pokemon in the Kanto region, but from what I've heard is that you and Ash seem like great partners,"

Prof. Kukui then took his attention to the single quadruped pokemon in the room. He ruffled Keldeo's mane, this made the pokemon jump back, surprised by the contact.

"And you must be?" Prof. Kukui asked.

"My name is Keldeo," Keldeo awkwardly spoke back.

Prof. Kukui stood still, stunned by hearing a pokemon talk. He shook his head and let out his amazement, "Wow! A talking pokemon, now I never see that in a lifetime,"

"Yeah, I and Keldeo are great partners, just like Pikachu," Ash stated, getting a 'Pika' from Pikachu and a nod from Keldeo as they both agreed with Ash.

"Well then, I hope I get to see more of you guys then. See ya," Prof. Kukui said as he walked away from the group. Now that the professor was gone, Ash and Keldeo went back into sightseeing again.

But as they looked down, they heard a roar of a Charizard and saw a trainer being approached by three kids. "Oh no, not again," Mallow whined out.

"Who are they?" Ash asked.

"They are Team Skull, big meanies they are," Mallow explained.

"And the one with the Charizard?"

"That is a classmate of ours. His name is Kiawe,"

Ash nodded and yelled out to Keldeo, "Come on, let's go!"

They ran out of the classroom, and out through the building until they were at the front entrance gate. Walking towards the gate, Ash could see Lana, Lillie, and Sophocles cooped up behind the gate stand, peeking at the commotion.

Behind him, Ash noticed that Mallow and prof. Kukui also begins to converge where the hiding students were at. Looking at the confrontation of Kiawe and Team Skull escalate, he couldn't hold back his anger.

In a flash, he ordered Keldeo, "Alright, can you sneak up behind them and do something?"

"I think I have something in mind," Keldeo responded with a mischievous grin. This made Ash chuckle as he could see one of Keldeo's delinquent tendencies show up again.

Turning to Pikachu he said to the mouse pokemon, "Come on Pikachu, let's stop them,"

"Pika-pi,"

"Hey stop!" Ash yelled as he stood in front of Kiawe and Team Skull, who already sent out their pokemon before Ash arrived.

"Huh, who are you?" one of the members called out.

"Who are you to gang up three to one?" Ash asked, ignoring their question.

"Yeah, well what are you going to do about it?" the leader seemed to ask.

"Well, I'm going to battle you," Ash assured.

"Pika, pika!" Pikachu yelled beside Ash.

"Well, it's not that I need your help anyways but... Go Turtonator!" Kiawe shouted as he released his pokemon, Kiawe's pokemon backing off a bit.

"Wow, that's a Turtonator?" Ash wondered in amazement at the size of the pokemon.

"Yes, a trusted friend of mine," Kiawe said.

"Oh yeah," the leader interrupted.

The leader and the two of his people pulled out pokeballs and sent out a group of three pokemon. One group being Zubat, Salandit, and a Yungoos. Ash eyed the Yungoos, as he heard about the Alolan pokemon and its use in the wild.

"Salandit! Use Venoshock!"

"Yungoos, use Bite!" another member shouted.

"Zubat, use Leech Life!" a female member followed after.

"Pikachu use Quick Attack!" Ash ordered.

Pikachu nodded and charged toward the enemy pokemon. Knocking away some of the pokemon to the sky or the ground beside them.

"That's fast," Kiawe commented, amazed by Pikachu's speed.

Concentrating again, Kiawe could smirk as the other pokemon gathered and attacked Turtonator. All of them, hitting the shell making it heat and glow before it blew the pokemon away from the turtle pokemon. The pokemon landed on their trainer's feet, struggling to get up.

"What was that?" Ash asked.

Kiawe immediately answered Ash's question, "If anything touches the spines of Turtonator's shell, they'll blow up,"

"Wow, that's awesome!" Ash yelled out.

"Salandit, use Flame Burst!" the leader suddenly shouted.

The Salandit's back hunched and emerging from its mouth was a fireball. The Salandit forced the ball out and it was now heading towards Pikachu.

Taking charge, Ash called out, "Pikachu, dodge it and use Thunderbolt,"

Pikachu jumped up into the air and let out a streak of lightning that electrocuted the Salandit. This pushed them back and they were on the ground, sizzling from Pikachu's thunderbolt. Ash could hear his newfound friends cheer at the sight of Team Skull getting what they deserved.

But within the tree line, a pokemon was keeping watch, but more importantly, it was keeping watch of Ash. Funnily enough, the pokemon froze as Ash suddenly looked at the exact spot the pokemon was hiding. But the pokemon calmed a bit as Ash shrugged and went back into the pokemon battle. The pokemon thought to itself that he was the Chosen One and that he's worthy of his gift to him. Looking to its right, the pokemon could see fruit hanging in front of it. It took one and waited so that it could play its playful prank when Ash was done with his battle.

Ash could chuckle as he saw the Team Skull bullies back away in fear of the power of Pikachu and Kiawe's Turtonator. Looking to his left, Ash could see Kiawe raise his hands. On one of his hands was a watch containing a crystal. What caught Ash's eye was that the crystal was glowing, along with Turtonator. It didn't take long for Ash to find out what Kiawe was attempting to do.

With a yelp, Ash grabbed Kiawe's arm and told him, "Stop it, that's enough,"

"No, we need to finish them off,"

"But can't you see that they are done," Ash told Kiawe, pointing at the downed pokemon. While still conscious, they struggled to get up.

"Besides, I think that they've got enough now thanks to me," Ash said.

"What are you talking about?" Both Kiawe and the leader of the Team Skull group called out to Ash.

"Maybe look behind you," Ash chided as he pointed behind the group.

It was then that they heard the sound of air rushing out of tires. Looking behind the group of three, Ash, Kiawe and the group behind the gate post could see Keldeo walking backward as it had a grin on its face.

'Who's that pokemon?' Kiawe thought to himself as he has never seen that pokemon.

"Hey what gives!?" the leader yelled.

Keldeo jumped a bit at been caught. But it was too late, Keldeo did his job.

When Ash went off to face Team Skull, Keldeo took his time in crossing the lake and over a border made of stone. When he passed those two trials, Keldeo was in front of what appeared to be Team Skull's bikes. With a grin, Keldeo lowered his head and charged his horn into the tires.

Seeing that the colt has slashed their tires, all three of them went into a fit of rage as they all attempted to tackle the pokemon. Keldeo, with grace, jumped over them and ran up to Ash.

"Good job, Keldeo!" Ash complimented Keldeo.

Ash kneeled and embraced Keldeo in a hug. Looking down to his right, Ash patted Pikachu voicing his pleasure at how good he did at the battle. He did so with Keldeo as well.

"You won't get away with this!" the leader yelled.

Looking behind Keldeo, Ash let out a laugh as he could see all three of the bullies run away, after they collected their pokemon, and were pushing their bikes. When they were gone, Ash let out a sigh and sat down. Keldeo followed suit and bedded down near Ash.

"That was amazing," Lana yelled as she and the rest of the students emerged and went out to praise Ash and Kiawe.

"Yeah, thank you," Ash said.

It was until Ash suddenly reached his hand again and caught a fruit again. The students, and the professor, were impressed by Ash's reaction. To them, it was like a magic trick, but to Ash, it was confusing him. They all stopped their cheering as a figure brushed past the group and floated into the mountains.

"Woah, who's that pokemon?" Ash asked.

"That was a pokemon?" Sophocles responded to Ash.

"Yeah, it was yellow, and it had an orange crest on its head," Ash explained.

Prof. Kukui's eyes widened at Ash's description, for that he knew what type of pokemon just described. "That sounds like..."

"Tapu Koko," Kiawe finished.

"Tapu Koko?" Ash asked

"The Guardian of Melemele Island," Lillie stated.

"An Island Guardian?" Ash questioned himself.

He got up, Keldeo following suit, and waved goodbye to the students. He walked away from the school and ran back to the hotel where he and his mother were staying the night as tourists.

A quarter past dawn, Ash was sitting down with his mother and her pokemon, Keldeo laying down beside Ash's chair. Pikachu was sitting near Keldeo, enjoying his bowl of pokemon food. Ash would enjoy his food, then politely waved down a waiter for more food.

His mother would giggle at her son's tenacity to eat everything on site. And she couldn't blame him, the food was really good. He got a piece of his food and shared it with Keldeo, who always enjoys eating with Ash no matter what type of food is served.

Ash smiled as Keldeo ate on. When Keldeo was done with his share of food, Ash set his plate aside and began to reminisce the recent events that happened today. He then heard a pokemon call out to him. He, Keldeo and Pikachu, looked up immediately from the call. Looking past Ash's mother, they could see the same pokemon from before.

The pokemon spotted them as well, as it floated off. Ash excused himself in front of his mother, where he then ran past her and jumped of a railing. He landed and then took off, Keldeo landed after Ash and ran alongside him.

After a few twists and turns, they soon found themselves in a courtyard where there was a balcony overlooking the city. Above said balcony was the pokemon itself. "Tapu Koko?" Ash asked the pokemon.

The pokemon nodded in return, confirming its title to Ash. Ash, with Pikachu on his shoulder, and Keldeo all slowly walked toward the Island Guardian. When a few feet away, Ash spoke to the pokemon, "So it was you who was stalking me,"

Not surprised by this, Tapu Koko nodded. Ash thought about his next question and finally decided that he wanted to lift the mood of this conversation. With a smile, Ash called out to Tapu Koko, "Was it you that gave me those fruits?"

The Island Guardian nodded again, this time more excited now. Ash smirked at this, so he slouched his tensed shoulders a bit at seeing the mood change. Ash then asked Tapu Koko, "So what is it that you want?"

Tapu Koko, without a beat, rose its shell-like claw and gave out a watch that was similar to Kiawe's watch. For some reason, the watch then floated towards Ash and then floated in front of him. Inside the watch was a yellow crystal, and it glowed brightly.

Looking up at Tapu Koko, Ash shook his head as he couldn't accept this from the Guardian, especially if he didn't do anything rewarding. Tapu Koko shook its head, but it reassured Ash with a nod of its own. Ash looked at the watch, and then put it on his left hand.

Ash was amazed as it fits snuggly into his wrist. Truly a perfect fit. The Island Guardian chirped and then floated off into the distance, leaving Ash by himself. Well not by himself in a literal sense. Keldeo moved in front of Ash and began to inspect the watch. Ash could chuckle at Keldeo's sparkling eyes.

"Come on, let's go," Ash said as he walked away from the balcony.

Within the next few days, Ash could be found inside prof. Kukui's house, talking to his mother about the amazing things about the house. The woman would giggle at Ash as she felt relieved that Ash fitted into Kukui's house.

"Well, goodbye mom. I have school now," Ash ended the call as he and Keldeo both left the front door of Kukui's house.

On the way to the school, Ash turned to Keldeo, and then eyed Pikachu as he challenged his pokemon, "I challenge you to a race,"

"You're on!"

"Pikachu!"

With that, Ash and his pokemon all ran to their destination, anticipating their new adventure.
