Chereads / The Wall Of Flames / Chapter 28 - Kel

Chapter 28 - Kel

"What are you doing out here by this time of the night?" I raised a suspicious brow at him. There's no way he can claim this to be a coincidence. This parking lot is the company's, not a public one.

" I was on my way to the company when I met you." He smiled brightly, "Were you afraid I might be a thief?"

I shrug at his questions, "there's no telling what you might be. In this present world, you can't keep a thing past another."

"I get your point. I do."

"So, what are you doing here?" I raised a brow at him.

" What?" He looked confused.

" You said you were on your way to the company when you had a Collision with me. What were you going to the company to do?"

" Oh, that?" He smiled," my agency was contacted to help with the case of leaked pictures. I was asked to come to the company to help in locating the address of the uploaders."

" Oh."

Could it be that Dozzy couldn't get the work done? Is that the reason the boss asked this male here to take care of it?

" I see." I nod at him," it's after work hours, as you can see. You need to return in the morning, this way, you'll be able to meet the boss."

I don't intend to disturb Mar. He looked tired during our project work.

"It would have been better if I should see the one whose pictures got uploaded. I don't need the boss, as the deal has already been finalized."

"Is that so?"

I thought about how best to do this. Should I tell him to return tomorrow to see the person whose pictures were uploaded, or should I tell the truth right now?

Telling him to return tomorrow to meet the person whose pictures were uploaded seems to be the best solution to take right now. But it will look awkward should he find out I was the same person he met when he came to the company.

One way or the other, he'll find out the truth about me.

"I'm the one." I decided to say the Truth as it will save me some future question and answers sessions.

"I actually thought you were the one." He bought his phone out and checked the picture he has on his phone.

"You looked different from how you were in your passport photo, but I can see the similarities."

" Not everyone looks like themselves whenever they take pictures." I roll my eyes at him.

" That's true."

" Now you've found me, what do you want to discuss?" I check the time on my wristwatch.

I've stayed here far beyond my normal work time.

" Can we go to a place, and have the discussion?"

" I am not convinced that's going to be possible tonight. I need to go home already."

Not only I'm I feeling tired, but I'm hungry.

"Have someone you must run back home to?"

"Nah, it's just me. I just don't like being away from home at this time of the night. We'll talk when you come to the company tomorrow."

" I don't think I'll be here tomorrow."

" Why?"

" I have some works to do, that was why I singled you out from here. I wanted to have a conversation with you."

" Now?"

" Nah, you can pick the date if it works for you. It's your call, after all."

" Okay."

I turn to my car.

" You're not going to take my phone number?"

" They didn't give it to you?''

"No, they didn't. Actually, I made it sound like I'll be in the office during work hours to do the job."

" And why did you lie? " I fold my arms.

" I need the job. It's like a once-in-a-lifetime Job. Heathrow isn't a company a person says no to. Not if you want to get elevated. "

" I see."

" Can I have your number now?"

He gave me his mobile phone, and I inputted my number into it.

" I'll call you when I reach home. Whenever you have the chance to discuss this with me, you can give me a call. Provided it's not during work hours."

" I'll do just that. " I unlocked my car, and slide into it.

I checked the time on my wristwatch for the umpteenth time since I came to this café, the coffee I ordered had long gotten cold, but I'm yet to see the so-called computer technician.

It has been close to sixteen minutes since he called, and asked for us to meet. What I decide to do is wait until it gets to twenty minutes.

After that, I'll leave.

"Sorry, I came late." the male slid into the chair opposite me. "I was caught up in traffic."

Sure, he looks like someone who ran all the way here.

"I see." I nod at him, "you could have called to tell me of it. Had it not been for the fact I decided to wait for five more minutes to elapse, you wouldn't have met me here."

Neither would you have had the job?

Before he made an appearance, I've already intended to call Mar, to tell him how unreliable the technician he employed to help me, is.

"Thank you for that. As for calling your cell, I would have done so had it not been for the fact my phone tripped off after the call I had with you."

"Okay."

I felt bad. Had it not been for the extra time I decided to keep, I would have ended up getting him sacked for something he can't control.

"I'm Kel. Sorry, we didn't get an introduction done on the first day we met." He smirked, "your cute face might have been the cause of that."

"Flattery won't get you anywhere." I roll my eyes at him," I'm Osy." I bring my hand out for a shake," It's a pleasure meeting your acquaintance."

" The pleasure is all mine." He smiled brightly as he shook my hand.
