The dragon elders have informed Sabrina that she was possibly pregnant and instead of being filled with joy, she is experiencing a mix of fear, trepidation, happiness and wonder. She told Kavan about how difficult it was for dragon shapeshifters to carry through their pregnancies which often ended up in miscarriage. She also told him about the fact that the is no certainty that their babies will grow up as dragon shapeshifters. They could very well grow up as normal humans without powers.
After receiving the news of her pregnancy, Kavan was at first overjoyed but after she told him the other complications that may arose, he was confused and assailed with a mixed of emotions. The first thing that came to mind was that if their child were to end up as a mortal, it would mean that he and Sabrina will outlive their own child.
