Kavan felt inexplicably drawn to the rock inside the purse that he had snatched from Reesha. He believed that was the missing fox bead that Karen was looking for.
When he saw the stone, he felt it calling to him and he reached out to touch it. It gave him a sort of a zap, like an electrical current passing through him. It made him feel as if he is suddenly filled with special powers.
So, he wondered if he could use it. He decided to make the purse float. He placed it on the table and focused on making it float, like how he watch people with powers in movies do it. The purse did not budge no matter how much he focused on it.
'Okay, so maybe not that kind of power,' he mumbled to himself. Maybe it gave him super strength, he thought. He went over to the table and used a finger to lift it. It didn't even budge an inch. Right, not super strength either.
