Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 - Orientals and Cultivation History 1

"But, I can tell you one that has no disadvantages. Young man, when you hear of cultivation, what comes to mind?".

John was shocked.

Cultivation???

'Hmmm, cultivation right? I can't lie to myself, what comes to mind is cultivation techniques, weapon techniques, and a bunch of dudes holding short ranged weapons but are actually long range fighters.

But obviously, I can't tell him that. He would ask where I knew that from.

"Cultivation? Isn't that planting... or something?", replied John with a confused look on his face.

Uncle Wang who was at John's back looked at him with suspicion. He felt like John knew what he was asking about.

"No, John, cultivation is not planting or whatever…  at least not in that sense", Uncle Wang said when he realized John was making sense.

"Cultivation is a way that we Orientals use to get stronger since we're different from the other races, we can't use the natural path to get stronger, so the ancestors of our race devised a pa—"

"Calm down… dude, you can't drop a bombshell and expect me to follow you every step of your voyage into my confusion. At least, make some things clear.

First of all, what's with the Oriental business?"John stood up and asked with an annoyed look on his face.

"Cough… Cough… I guess I forgot myself there", Uncle Wang said, then he snapped his fingers, all the mist-like substance on his face disappeared.

What appeared on the face of the earth, just kidding! In the room was a man with Asian features, just like the Chinese people back on Earth.

It was a handsome man of about 20- 25 years old with long white hair, skin with texture and complexion akin to white jade, blue eyes that sparkled as the calm blue sea smiled upon by the sun. A typical example of the jade-like beauty mentioned in those cultivation novels.

'Who would have thought that under all those coverings, a face such as this was hiding there. Just through his face, he made a nightgown look like a million-dollar attire', John thought.

Uncle Wang, seeing that John was surprised by his beauty, laughed maniacally in his mind, 'I know you are confident about your looks, but now it looks like you are stunned, I'm sure your confidence level has reduced'.

"Dude… I get it you're handsome", said John, "though not as handsome as me", John murmured.

"But even as handsome as you are, you can't get away from explaining yourself, there's no random passerby to introduce me to this time… so out with it", said John tapping his feet.

"I'm not trying to get away from explaining, I just revealed my face to show you something. Look at my face, I'm sure you noticed something different", He said pointing at his face.

"Yea, your face is different from the other faces in the town but that's just because you're Asian, specifically Chinese", as John said that, he facepalmed.

Uncle Wang was confused,

" Asian",

"Chinese",

" What's that?", he asked.

"Just forget about those, go on with your explanation", said John but he was chastising himself in his mind.

Uncle Wang shrugged. He had a solemn look on his face

" Anyway, we, with a distinctive face like this, are called Orientals. Orientals are a special race of people who can't practice the paths given to all creatures by the Gods, all the different training paths I mentioned, warriors, elementalism, sorcerers, and whatever training paths there are again.

We watched living beings like us, become as strong as the Gods and ascend and thought 'if only I wasn't born an Oriental' in pain, regret, and despair

We Orientals though we were also humans couldn't sense mana and the elements like the others, to make matters worse we were created far later than them as if we were an afterthought.

For a thousand years, we lived in our pit of powerlessness and hopelessness. When our fellow humans and other races were destroying mountains and moving seas, fighting and killing gigantic beasts, we were having trouble fighting normal animals like us.

Until one day",

*****

The village of Hope.

It was a peaceful day, anyway as peaceful as it should be for powerless people. It was a small village, with a population of 3000 thousand, men, women, and children, as there was a problem of low reproduction rate.

They had huts made of mud and thatched roofs. There was a smile on every member of the village's face as the strongest hunters led by Wang Ling, the strongest man in the village hunted a peak cannon fodder beast, the diamond-skinned snake.

Their little ones could bathe in the blood of the beasts and temper their bodies to grow up strong like the hunters.

Suddenly, the sky only above the village darkened, lightning danced about in the sky and the smile of the sun was blocked by the darkness.

Raindrops the size of stones and the hardness of a stone fell from the Heavens directly onto the village.

Screams resounded all about as the weight and the speed and energy the raindrops carried pierced through the people walking in the village. The raindrops pierced through their heads and killed them, houses were destroyed with large holes being peppered in them.

As all these happened, some houses in the village were protected, like the building in which the hunters were cutting the snake into pieces and draining the blood from it into barrels.

Wang Ling, a man with short white hair, with a scar on his left eye and a strong muscled body looked up at the sky as if he felt something strange happening.

One of the hunters, Wang Ling's best friend, Su Ting, saw him looking at the sky and looking outside the window. "Wang, don't think you can slack off because you killed the snake almost all alone. What's interesting outside the window that you're looking at?", he said.

Wang Ling, who looking outside the window found all in the village like normal came back and continued working, he smiled and told Su Ting,

"It's nothing, I just sensed something is all".

" So it's just a feeling, forget it, let's finish draining the blood so that our descendants can be strong also", Su Ting said.

"Hmmm", Wang Ling and the other hunters all echoed.

Thirty minutes later they were done, as their weapons were taken to break through the diamond-skinned snake's skin.

They came out the door, wheeling the cut parts and the barrels of blood out the house.

The hunters shouted, " it's ready, gather around!!".

Suddenly, as if a fog were lifted from their eyes.

They saw an apocalyptic scene, (because the village to them was their world).

They saw their fellow people being slaughtered by the forces of nature.

And there were only some entities so good at doing this.

THE GODS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH", they screamed in madness.
