After they took in the humans, Lilith and the army returned back to their camp to rest.
But, there were still many problems that they need to solve before everything turns back to normal.
At the queen's pavilion, there sat Lilith and a woman with dark features.
"You're planning to welcome them as people of sanctuary? Isn't that reckless?", Hela, the Captain of the Queensguard, casually said to Lilith.
They were friends since childhood, so there's nothing wrong with speaking informally when they were both alone. Although, Luke was having a nap in his mother's lap at this time.
Lilith stared at her son while she brushed her fingers on Luke's hair. "I'm still considering it but, when I looked at the children who were with the them, I felt sympathy towards them.".
Hela looked at Lilith with a confused face before sighing in surrender. She knew how stubborn her queen is, nothing can stop her if she knew thought about something.
"So, how can you deal with their blood? You know that there's a blood restriction on the barrier, right?", Hela asked her.
"Of course... I got to deal with that myself so I'm giving them my blood.", Lilith answered without looking at Hela, but stared at her son instead.
"No! You will not give them your blood! I'll rather do it myself than give them the blood of a monarch!", Hela stood up from her chair and refused in anger.
The table fell on the ground as Hela slammed her cup of wine on it before leaving the pavilion. Lilith followed her using her eyes and found that she was going to where the humans were.
'Haaah... That hot-blooded friend of mine, I got to stop her first before she does something again.', Lilith sighed then put Luke on the bed before exiting her pavilion.
Many soldiers saluted to her as she passed by them hurriedly to catch up to Hela. That woman will definitely beat up the humans first then give them her blood after they were beaten half dead.
"My queen!", Lilith heard Adam's voice, stopping her.
"I'm in a hurry, Commander. What is it that you wanted to say?", Lilith impatiently said.
"Um.. I apologize for what my soldiers did with the prince earlier, my queen. They were just children and wanted to have some fun by the camp, but I didn't knew that they took the prince with them.", Adam lowered his head apologetically to Lilith and looked at the kids that were kneeling on the ground.
They were familiar faces in Lilith's eyes, even the Commander's son, Earl was with them.
"We're sorry, Your Majesty. We just wanted to play with Luke because we haven't seen him since we started training."
Earl looked at Lilith with his slit-like eyes, never showing his pain and emotions. The other three children also apologized towards her.
Lilith was a little satisfied with their attitude. These should be the temperament of a dignified demon that could lead the future generations.
Lilith waved her right hand and smiled at the four children, " I know that you haven't seen Luke for a while, but it was still wrong to start a fire in the middle of the camp while we were fighting an enemy. You can just come to the castle after you guys finish training here, I'm sure Luke will be happy about that."
The children's beamed with happiness as they heard Lilith invite them.
'This means I don't have to sneak into the kitchen anymore! I can just barge in there and grab a whole meat for myself.', Earl drooled as he thought of himself, eating a whole sweet roasted ham.
The other three were also having their imagination in the castle as the Commander bowed to Lilith again, "Thank you for your consideration, my queen."
"They are just children. Go easy on them, Commander. I'm sure my nephew also wants that to happen.", Lilith turned around and started to catch up to Hela after looking at Earl again with a little sadness on her face.
The humans camped at the entrance of the barrier just like the current position of the demon camps. It only took a few minutes for Lilith to get to their pavilion, where the people acquainted with Luce stayed.
Lilith saw Hela standing inside the pavilion using her senses and saw two humans outside watching her walk towards them.
"We meet again, Queen Lilith. I'm sure you'll have some explanation for what's happening right now.", Levi greeted Lilith while smiling politely.
"My queen, whatever it is that you're going to do, I'll put my life on the line just to let my daughter have a happy life.", Hector cupped his hands and bowed slightly.
"Don't be so dramatic, both of you. I got a guess of what you two will be in Luce's letters but, the two of you now contradicts my predictions.", Lilith smiled and politely told them to greet her like that.
These two men are the benefactors of Luce when he was in the human territory, so Lilith should return back the favor of what they did to them.
The three got into a situation where they were all comfortable when a scream coming from the pavilion was heard.
"Oh... That was fast. I didn't expect someone can withstand that test and be awakened immediately.", Hela showed a satisfied smile as she watched the two men, basked in her blood, crawl in pain.
Levi could hear their bones crack and flesh be reaped inside the pavilion and quickly turned towards Lilith to ask, but Lilith raised a finger to stop him.
'What exactly are they going to do to us? The Merchant King and Marquis Rain are both suffering in there right now.', Levi gritted his teeth in frustration.
"The two of them are having an awakening. They are both turning into demons, and with a tinge of monarch's blood at that.", Lilith seemed to know what Levi was thinking and talked, looking inside the pavilion.
"What?", Hector was shocked. He worried for what will happen to Mir if she was to have to be turned into a demon.
"What about the children? I'm afraid they can't take this pain. They will die in shock if they were turned so early.", Hector asked Lilith, hoping that the children should be spared and don't have to go through with all these.
"The children will be okay... for now. The barrier will suck the life out of the beings that doesn't have a demon's blood in their bodies, but the children who haven't turned eighteen years of age can enter the barrier without having a demon's blood."
The screams worsened as Lilith was talking to them, leaving Levi and Hector in a dazed state for a while until the screaming stopped two hours later.
"Wooh! They're both okay now. They should be able to stabilize their new bodies for a month or two. I'll go ask Commander Adam to create a sturdy prison in a distance first."
Hela walked out of the pavilion, exhausted. Then headed towards the demon camp after she exchanged glance with Lilith.
Watching Hela left, Lilith then turned towards the two men beside her. She stared at them for a moment and then said, "I'll let you steel yourselves first. You have no choice to refuse anyway."
Lilith walked inside the pavilion, the smell of blood still lingered inside, but she let it out with a wave of her hand.
She found a chair in the corner and sat on it. The tip of her purple dress touched the carpet of the pavilion.
'I wonder if Luke is awake now.', Lilith thought.
She then saw Levi and Hector entering the pavilion with tensed expressions on their face.
"We're ready...", Hector said while some sweat from his face dropped to the carpet.
