"Little friend, you're back!" Seeing him appearing from the seal, the Dragon Emperor spoke excitedly.
The great senior had lived for over millennia and didn't want to see a genius like him fall down like that.
Jason could hear the worry and relief in his tone and apologetically smiled. "I let the seniors worry for me. I hope seniors will be benevolent and forgive this junior."
The other divine beasts were clearly unhappy with Zhou Jason's rash actions but hearing his sincere apology, they put down their anger.
"Hades, what happened inside? How are you able to escape from the Nether Lord?" After confirming his safety, the Dragon Emperor finally asked the doubt in his heart. "We felt some tremors from the seal and thought..."
He stopped and looked at Jason for an answer.
"Well, when I entered I found that the Nether Realm had an abundance of pure Nether energy and pure Destruction energy so I asked Nether Lord to borrow some of it but that greedy and shameless fellow refused. So I... I can only resort to snatching it. Hehe... The Nether Lord tried to stop me but he... died in my hand in the end." Jason scratched the side of his face and explained. "Now, nobody will disturb seniors for the next thousand years and more. I hope seniors will not blame me. Hehe..."
"What?!" Dragon Emperor and the other divine beasts couldn't help but exclaim loudly.
'He... killed the Nether Lord?! How?...'
Twelve pairs of eyes stared at Jason with shock and disbelief filling them.
After a long time, the Dragon Emperor sighed and said. "It seems I still underestimate you, little friend... You're even able to deceive this old senior. Hur hur..."
The other divine beasts were also not fools and understood everything with that slight hint. The real strength of the thin and frail human child standing in front of them might have already been far above them.
That's the only reasonable answer!
Dragon Emperor's eyes flashed with bright light and spoke. "Well, let's forget it. Hades, use your Saint energy and enforce this seal. That way, there will be no more Nether Lord even after ten thousand years."
Jason looked at him and replied. "Senior, we can't do that."
"Hmm..." Dragon Emperor raised his head and looked at him.
"Why is that?" The Dragon turtle beside the Dragon Emperor stepped forward and continued. "If we don't enforce it, then there will be another Nerher Lord after a hundred years. We can't let that happen."
Jason sighed slightly and answered. "Senior Dragon Turtle, forgive me to say that but even if we repair the seal, the Nether Lord will definitely return... The only way to erase his existence forever is to destroy the evil and maliciousness of every living thing. As long as greed, jealousy, evil, etc, such things exist, Nether Lord will return sooner or later."
"Hades, it seems you know something."
Who was the Dragon Emperor? He was a peak existence in the entire world standing at the apex and had lived for a long time. He guessed immediately that there was a reason behind Jason's words.
"Senior Dragon Emperor, the word that I'm going to tell you next might hurt you or your feelings so let me apologize in advance." Jason took a deep breath and spoke. "Well, things are like this..."
He slowly explained to the twelve divine guardians beasts the importance of the Nether realm and why it had appeared so many years ago. And the consequences of forcefully sealing it away.
"... Then isn't it mean we have wasted so many years guarding this seal for nothing?" One of the divine beasts asked with a bitter face.
"No!" Jason said slowly. "Senior, despite your reasons but it's a fact that you guys have protected the entire mainland for over many millennia. You guys are the real Heroes! I sincerely thank you all... It's just no one knew about it. This junior is only able to learn it by chance."
Dragon Emperor stared at Jason and could feel his sincerity. He sighed and turned to the divine beasts before speaking in a slightly apologetic voice. "It's a misjudgment on my part, letting you all stay here for so long, stripping away your freedom from you all."
"Please don't say that Master." The eleven of them immediately kneeled down and bowed their heads.
The big senior sighed and asked. "Hades, it only needs a single person to purify the Nether realm from time to time, right?"
Jason nodded his head.
Dragon Emperor then said solemnly. "You guys should leave this place and live your lives. I'll stay here and fulfill that job."
"No, Master let me do it!" One of them voiced out.
"No, I can do it!" Another one followed quickly.
And so many voices rang out.
"Silence!" Dragon Emperor's roar rang out and he spoke in a deep voice. "This is my order to you."
"... yes, sir." The eleven of them agreed reluctantly.
Jason looked at everything with a small smile and cupped his hands. "Senior Dragon Emperor, if I'll be bold enough to speak, I want to say something."
Dragon Emperor spoke in a very friendly tone. "Hades, you didn't need to hesitate. Go ahead."
Jason smiled, "Senior Dragon Emperor, you and other seniors had already given so much for many years. The real reason behind the appearance of Nether Lord and Nether realm is us humans but you guys are the ones suffering from it, even losing many of your species in front of your eyes."
"Little friend, what are you trying to say?" Dragon Emperor couldn't help but ask.
"What I want is very simple actually. Senior, please hand over the responsibility of purifying the Nether realm to me and come with me to the surface, giving a chance to this junior to take care of you and show you my hospitality. You had shouldered this burden for so many years, let me take it on my shoulders from now on."
"I understand your feelings, little friend. But..." Dragon Emperor stared at him for some time and spoke gently. "I've guarded this seal for millennia. The outside world has already become an unfamiliar place for me. And after my brothers, children, family, and friends died back then, I don't have any lingering attachment to this world."
Hearing those words, Jason sighed and somewhat understood his feelings. He spoke with a light smile. "Doesn't Senior have two descendants alive in the Lustre Spatial Realm? You shouldn't feel down so much... But if Senior still feels that you can't, then will Senior be interested in following me to the upper worlds after I ascend?"
"Upper Worlds? Ascend?" Dragon Emperor sounded puzzled.
"Hehe... Senior will understand later. For now, please come with me to the surface."
Dragon Emperor glanced at the seal and sighed. "Alright. But we should still enforce the seal. Nether Lord is not our only problem from the Nether Lord."
"That's natural." Jason nodded and made a few hand seals with his body exuding pure Saint energy.
