When Difuya saw him, her body tensed up for no good reason, with her hands shaking a little.
Seeing through her nervousness, Zhou Weiqing sighed and walked inside. "If it isn't Princess Difuya? What brings Her Highness to my humble abode?"
He spoke in a teasing tone, in a somewhat joking manner but it had the opposite effect on her as she tensed up further.
Shangguan Bing'er and Xiao Ruse looked at her before shooting a glare at him.
Zhou Weiqing had a wronged expression on his face. He just wanted her to relax that's all.
"Stop making fun of her!" Xiao Ruse chided him before turning to Difuya. "Don't listen to his nonsense, Difuya."
Zhou Weiqing sighed and sat down in front of Difuya. He stared at her for quite some time before finally opening his mouth. "Godfather was right. You haven't made any progress since the last time I saw you."
Sighing heavily, he continued. "Why do you have to burden yourself with such a little thing? I just don't understand. I get it that you're embarrassed and sorry for your actions but you should not keep it in your heart. It's not worth it, okay?"
"Maybe I should have kept everything hidden from you." He grumbled to himself.
Watching her downcast expression, he decided to be serious and helped her put down the burden that she was keeping on her heart.
"Look, I'll be honest with you. In my entire life, I have never blamed you for anything you said to me in the past. And it's not because I hate you or want to mock you in the future, actually I somewhat agreed with your views at that time. You're not the only one angry with Godfather for betrothing you to me..." Weiqing smiled and said slowly. "I believe in freedom. I believe that everyone has the right to decide to choose their life partners for themselves. I agree with your viewpoint. Nobody should be sacrificed for politics..."
Finally, he smiled mysteriously and spoke. "And Godfather also understood it now and he wasn't angry with you anymore."
"R-Really?" Difuya finally opened her mouth and asked slowly.
Zhou Weiqing smiled and nodded his head. "Of course, you goof. Now, he only wants you to learn from your mistakes and not look down on others. You're a princess. Being a little proud and haughty is good, after all, it's every beauty's right. Every genius is like that but everything should have a limit. So be more open-minded and kind to others from now on... You should be an example for those who look up to you in our kingdom."
He patted her head and laughed. "So, stop thinking nonsense like that and focus on improving yourself. Life is way too short to waste time on such crap. Nobody is perfect in this world... So what if I'm a great genius, aren't I still a big pervert? Hahaha..."
But his laughter was short-lived as Shangguan Bing'er and Xiao Ruse pinched his waist, causing him to hiss in pain.
Seeing him like that, everyone laughed, easing the heavy atmosphere in the room.
Difuya finally relaxed her mood, a smile appeared on her face. She took his advice to heart and decided to focus on improving herself, cheering herself.
She stayed for dinner but even after constant pestering from Ruse and Bing'er, she decided to leave.
As the only guy, Weiqing was tasked to escort her safely to her dorm.
The duo walked in the streets at night without exchanging a single word with each other.
After walking for ten minutes, they finally saw the Academy gates. Since it was very late, it was not possible to enter from the front gate. But both of them were powerful Jewel Masters, easily infiltrating the academy.
Finally, when she was near her dorm, he decided to leave but she stopped him.
He raised his eyebrow at her in question.
"Thank you," Difuya spoke with gratitude.
"No need for that." Zhou Weiqing chuckled. "I liked your old self more. You see when we were young, Bing'er was very kind and gentle while Ruse was strong and stubborn. So, your arrogant and haughty attitude had its different charm."
"Idiot," Difuya blushed heavily and disappeared into her dorm, trying to escape from embarrassment.
Zhou Weiqing laughed at her girly reaction and left the academy to return to his place.
The next day, Shangguan Bing'er woke him up early in the morning.
"Get up! A guest is looking for you."
"Just five more minutes..."
Shangguan Bing'er snorted and kicked his butt before leaving the room while grumbling. "Can't you be serious for once?"
Zhou Weiqing rubbed his back and sighed. It's not like she had to say anything as he had already realized the situation. Picking up the aura from the living room, he identified the guest.
Draping the robe over him, he walked down.
"Boss!" The guest was a young man, almost in his late twenties. His aura was calm and collected but his eyes filled with fierceness revealed his real deadly nature. The young man was wearing casual clothes with a small fan in his hand.
He was one of the core disciples of the Heaven and Earth Sect, Yan Mo.
"What brought you here so early in the morning? Do you know I got scolded because of you?" Zhou Weiqing snorted and told him to get straight to the point.
Yan Mo smiled lightly, not paying attention to his boss's anger, and reported. "Sect Master ordered us to include Young Master in important matters from now on since you're the future leader! As for the reason of my visit, I've news regarding the movement of Demonic Palace in Fei Li City."
"Oh!" Zhou Weiqing was intrigued, signaling him to continue.
Yan Mo folded his fan and continued. "Boss, our guys found dozens of newcomers entering the city illegally. Three people seemed to be in the King stage through their auras while there were also dozens of Zong stage masters. With our current manpower, we can't handle them. I want to ask your permission to ask for reinforcement."
"Okay. Go ahead." Zhou Weiqing nodded his head. "Three units will be enough to capture them without any casualties."
"Yes, Young Master. If it's only about fighting them then one unit is enough but it will attract too much unwanted attention." Yan Mo nodded his head in agreement.
"Is there anything else?"
"Yes, boss. Last night, Little Qin went out to buy materials to create scrolls but when he returned he brought back two slaves." Yan Mo reported quickly.
"Slaves?" Weiqing was surprised. It was common knowledge back in the unit that he prohibited slavery. Anyone indulging in it would be heavily punished.
Seeing his boss's heavy expression, Yan Mo quickly explained. "Boss, actually it's not what it looks like."
"Oh? Please elaborate..."
"Boss, actually..."
Yan Mo then explained the entire story in a short summary.
