The air began trembling.
Hundreds of Hunters surrounding the spot just below the Gate held their breaths and waited.
This was a memorable spectacle, this sight of countless Hunters waiting for one single moment to happen.
The gate was very massive, the size of a tennis court, hovering above the heads of the hunters.
Aside from the hundreds of best hunters all around the world, America had gathered all of its hunters to aid in the upcoming raid.
The close-quarter type Hunters quietly waited for their turns, waiting at the front. While mage-type hunters were standing behind them, ready to launch attacks at given notice.
Despite being the first time these hunters from different countries to be working together, they were at least aware of their positions, setting up a somewhat decent formation.
Taut tension filled up the atmosphere.
"Hey, what do you think what will come out of this gate?!"
"Who knows? I'll just blast away everything with my fists!"
"Pfft! Yeah, right. Let's just hope we don't have to save your ass later."
"Hey!!"
"Hey buddy, you should relax! You look like you're going to have a heart attack or something."
"Well, I have never faced such a giant gate ever in my life."
"Yeah, you're right. Just what type of magical beast will emerge from this massive hole?"
The hunters were whispering among each other, chatting to relax their tense nerves. Despite how tough everyone was acting, feeling the eerie atmosphere and dark and ominous magical energy oozing out from the gate, all of them couldn't help but gulp down in dread, fear gripping their hearts.
"Oye, kid, this is not a place for a shrimp like you. Just go back and play there. You're in my way."
Jason was observing the massive gate when someone grabbed his shoulder sharply, trying to pull him back. Glancing behind, he saw the huge muscular man grinning while exerting his strength. He sighed and ignored the man, not caring about him at all.
On the other hand, Go Gunhee standing beside Jason was bewildered by the appearance of the newcomer.
'I don't have a small build compared to other hunters in Korea. But... I look like a child in front of him.'
Sung Il-Hwan supported his thoughts, looking like a dwarf in front of the towering giant man.
Thomas Andre was definitely one of the strongest hunters in the states. With his high defense and terrifying strength, he could tear the magical beasts with just his bare hands.
He had a very huge ego, stated by his proud and aggressive personality. So, when he saw a young hunter standing at the front, he felt challenged as that was his spot all the time.
Since he was young, he had repeatedly spent many years of his life in fights to prove his natural talent for domination through an endless series of fights with those stupid enough to oppose him.
"You dare..."
"How dare you ignore me? Am I not worthy to be put in your eyes, huh?'
Thomas Andre's expression crumpled into something unsightly like he had swallowed a bug or something.
Through personal experience, his body knew how one should deal with an opponent who didn't want to submit.
Thomas Andre reached out with his hand. He was planning to grab Jason's shoulder and crush it.
His incomprehensible gripping power was one of his many hidden talents. Even if his opponent happened to be a powerful magical beast, he'd easily shatter its skull.
Now that the fool was within his attacking range, victory was as good as his. The corners of Thomas Andre's lips curled up.
Too bad, though…
'Wha….?!'
A small hand gripped his huge hand, stopping it in its tracks. And just a little ahead, two cold eyes were staring at him, the eyes filled with anger.
"Stop annoying me like a pest!" Jason grabbed the huge man and picked him like it was nothing before throwing him away.
Thomas Andre flew away like a bullet shot by a gun before he forcefully stopped himself, his feet sliding on the ground, creating tracks.
All the hunters present on the site were startled, staring at Thomas Andre before their trembling eyes turned to Jason's back who didn't even glance at Thomas Andre at all, as if he just did a trivial thing.
Liu Zhigang couldn't help but be astonished by the scene, feeling inferior to the young hunter because he was aware that he couldn't do that at all.
'The kid is the real deal here! I should get more familiar with him after this raid. There is nothing bad in having an extra friend than an enemy.'
"You!..." Thomas Andre glared at Jason but the young hunter raised his hand, his eyes cold.
"Let's first finish this raid. If you still want to have a go at me, I'll take you on. But..."
Feeling the atmosphere dropping with an immense magical power flooding the entire space.
"Remember that you'll die!"
*Boom!*
Instantly a huge blast occurred in the head of all the hunters with no one daring to take it lightly. Feeling the seriousness in his voice, they were sure that the young hunter was not joking at all and would follow his words for sure.
Turning to Thomas Andre, they saw him gritting his teeth and yet he reeled in his anger for the sake of the upcoming battle.
Soon, the noises quieted down and the atmosphere was silent.
With every passing second, the dungeon break was approaching closer and closer. He could sense a massive wall behind the magical wall blocking the gate.
*Ba-thump* *Ba-thump* *Ba-thump*
The hearts of all the Hunters were pounding away restlessly. It was all because of the nervousness seemingly oppressing everything.
Soon...
"I-It's coming!"
"The Gate's been opened!!"
Finally, the Gate began opening up.
The wall separating this world and the Gate disappeared and the 'thing' staying within finally stepped out.
A huge head appeared from the gate followed by a large body with two wings on its back. The creature had a size of over 30 meters with a scaly body, large wings, sharp claws, grey horns, yellow glowing eyes, a light brown underbelly, and a long red, whip-like tail.
"I-Impossible!" Someone muttered.
No one could tell who cried out first.
"A Dragon!"
"It's a Dragon!!"
The huge aerial creature blinked its eyes before it shifted them below. And that's when it discovered the stupid-looking humans and their jaws agape as they stared right back at the gigantic creature.
[Human! Humans must be killed! Every single one of you… I shall kill all of you.]
*ROAARRR!!!*
An intense malice took over its mind as its eyes turned bloodshot and he gave an earth-shattering roar of furry.
