Jason continued on and on, almost forgetting about the people in the room. Pausing to take a look at others which left him dumbfounded.
Whether it was Ye Zong, Ye Shuo, or even Xue Yin, all of them were staring at him with astonished looks, their eyes in a daze. They couldn't believe that such heavy words were told to them by a youngster. Even though his words sounded a little weird, if they put themselves in the places of those young ones, even remembering their young days, they realized that his words held a deep truth to them.
The environment shaped a youngster but their mindset could only be matured via experience and time.
It doesn't matter how much youngsters nowadays act like adults because, at the base of their mindsets, they are still young and bound to make mistakes.
Arrogant, Prideful, Self-conceited, Egostical, Show-off!
Those youngsters were full of such negative traits with a rare few exceptions from time to time.
The early success caused these young ones to feel full of themselves, looking down on everyone else.
Thinking about it, Ye Zong felt that the suggestions made by Jason were not a bad choice but maybe it would become a milestone for a better future for the Glory City.
And with that, he could keep his daughter close to him for a little longer.
"Well, even though it will raise some trouble, I find this suggestion quite satisfying. I'll discuss it with the elders and the leaders of the family and will try to put it into action as soon as possible."
Jason nodded his head and reminded him. "Make sure to involve the girls who are already betrothed. Tell their families to postpone the time for their marriage."
"I'll try my best." Ye Zong nodded his head.
"I believe you. Okay then, let's move to the real reason you came here." Jason smiled and continued. "The real reason you still remain in the Black gold realm for so long is related to a number of problems. The first is related to your cultivation technique. You practiced the Seven Heart technique which is quite good in the early stages but it had its flaws, making it a little difficult to advance in the later stages. I'll give you the complete technique later without any flaws."
"Second is your choice of demon beasts to integrate. Even though Black Scaled Earth Dragon is a very powerful demon beast at the black gold rank, it's not beneficial for you. All of your combat and secret techniques are related to Snow Wind attribute whereas your Black-Scaled Earth Dragon has fire and dark attribute, opposite of your base attribute."
"Eh? Something like that can affect the breakthrough too?" Ye Shuo was amazed, asking curiously.
Jason smiled and explained. "Cultivation is not just about practicing the top tier technique, integrating with a powerful demon beast, and just being diligent. From choosing a suitable technique, finding the perfect demon beast, the chosen demon beast's characteristics to its growth, state of your mind, and the harmony between your body, soul, and mind. Everything matters. If I have to say then everyone below Black gold rank is not even eligible to call themselves a cultivator."
Ye Zong was shocked by his words, his body trembling. "W-What do you mean?"
Jason looked at him and continued. "You can say that the realm below Legend rank is a test. A test to check the potential of a person. One only step on the path to heaven when he reached the Legend rank. That's why Legend rank is different from everything you have seen because only at that point you can finally resonate with the laws of the heaven."
Ye Zong felt like being hit by a bolt of thunder, shaking his mind. His eyes seemed to be in a haze, looking lost.
"I-If... It's real... then what am... I did... till now?"
Jason's eyes turned serious as he patted the City Lord's shoulder, speaking slowly. "Don't think too much, losing your focus. Because of the age of darkness, many records are lost, including all those secrets. As for you, there is still enough time."
"R-Really?"
"Yes. First, you need a demon beast suitable for your soul realm. You're in luck that I've just the demon beast spirit for you." Speaking of that, Jason retrieved a demon beast from his inventory, while faking it to take it out from the interspatial ring.
"A Snow Wind Ape King with the God-level growth rate. Unlike your normal ape beast, this beast has the potential to reach Legend rank and above. Integrate with it and make yourself familiar with it."
Ye Zong took the demon beast's spirit and carefully examined it before putting it inside his ring. Even though he loved his Black-Scaled Earth Dragon, for the sake of advancing, he would replace it.
Jason smiled and said. "Now for the main part. Because the safety of the Glory City is your responsibility, you've made some big sacrifices that have turned into a sense of regret, affecting your state of mind... The biggest one is your own daughter!"
"This..." Ye Zong's eyes trembled as he stared at the young man in front of him. Despite being young, he had seen through him completely.
"No need to deny it. City Lord, I'll be frank here with you. Life is way too short to waste it on regrets. I know you have heavy responsibility on your shoulders but what's the use of worrying for a future that might not even come? It's best if you put down your worries and spend some time with your daughter, easing your regrets. The most important thing for any child is the support of the parents, everything else is negligible in front of it. So, go back and do what you must do for your daughter as her father."
Ye Zong gazed in the distance, silently contemplating on his heavy words. Finally, after a long time passed he released a heavy sigh.
"You're right. For the sake of Glory City, I've neglected my daughter. Maybe I should do what a father should have done... It's such a shame that you're not my son." Ye Zong turned to him and smiled, his eyes revealing a slight of pity.
Jason shook his head. "We both are at the right places. Or else how do you think we would have met let alone have the chance to talk like this? This is the beauty of life, being unpredictable."
Ye Zong laughed and nodded his head. "Hahaha... you're right. You're the best thing that happened to Glory City in ages... Teacher Ye Kai made the right decision to let you teach the children."
Jason just chuckled and wrote down three cultivation manuals, suitable for each of them.
Keeping it safe like a treasure, Ye Zong and Ye Shuo returned, leaving the Inscription Association.
