Jin-Woo returned after two days and shared everything that transpired in the U.S. with Jason including his great fight with Thomas Andrea a.k.a. 'The Goliath'.
Jason received a call from Jin-Ho who informed him about two uninvited guests appearing at the Ahjin Guild.
Jason quickly made his way toward the office and found a large number of reporters outside the office. He bypassed them effortlessly with his speed and entered the building.
*Shururuk…*
The automated door to the Guild slid open.
The heads of every single employee, including Yoo Jin-Ho, instantly snapped in that direction.
The little guy shot from his seat and reached him.
Jason nodded to Jin-Ho and extended his hand to the Big guy. "Hello, Thomas. Welcome to my country. It's nice to see you after such a long time."
Thomas Andre grinned, nodding his head. "Yup. It's been more than five years."
The duo chatted happily like two long friends meeting after a long time.
*Shururuk…*
While they were talking, the automated door to the Guild slid open again and Jin-Woo entered their view.
Jin-Ho had informed him too about Goliath's visit to their guild.
Jin-Woo and Thomas Andrea shared a handshake before the former asked.
"What brings you to Korea?"
"Oh, that."
Thomas Andre recovered his wits and formed another smile.
"Didn't I promise you before? I told you that I'll buy a meal once my arm heals up."
He raised his completely healed left arm and waved it around.
While Jin-Woo was chatting with Thomas, InTaek greeted Lennart Niermann, the strongest hunter in Germany.
Due to Jason having already killed five out of the nine Monarchs, nothing problematic happened.
Lennart was only there to get acquainted with Jin-Woo as he didn't get a chance to do so in the U.S.
Thomas Andrea gifted the 'Kamish's Wrath' to Jin-Woo, a pair of dual daggers forged from the sharpest fangs of the World's Worst Calamity 'The Dragon Kamish'.
They are mana-sensitive, meaning that their power aligns with their user's strength stat, and also allow their user to alter their weight however they please.
Jin-Woo's comprehension of the Death Law had reached an incredible level so Jason decided to give him a hand in having a conversation with Ashborn before the Eternal Rest.
"Hyung-nim, are you sure that it'll work?" Jin-Woo asked with concern.
"Don't worry, it'll work just fine." Jason pushed him back to the bed and placed his hand
on his chest.
"Now close your eyes and focus."
Jin-Woo nodded his head and followed his words.
Jason started channeling the law energy into Jin-Woo, pushing him into a state of slumber,
into the void of Eternal Rest.
Jason then created a barrier around him before standing up and turning around to face the three Marshal Grade soldiers.
Feeling their concern, In-Taek smiled and assured them.
"Everything is fine. It'll be over soon."
The three of them nodded their heads and stood near the bed.
Jason shook his head and exited the room. He then gazed at the sky where a massive eye-sized gate was hovering, looking down on everything.
'Everything is going as planned. Now, we just have to wait before the real show begins.'
It's been only a few minutes since he exited the room when he suddenly felt the barrier shivering.
The mana around the place had started to cry.
'Such pure energy of death. It's done already?'
Jason moved faster and quickly created another barrier around the place, preventing the
terrifying energy from running amok.
*Kiiieeehhk!!*
And then he heard Beru's screech confirming his doubts.
The door of the room was opened and Jin-Woo walked out from inside.
For the first time, a genuinely surprised expression flashed on his face.
'This Power! It's... nearly at the Intermediate Deity Realm!'
Even though Jin-Woo looked the same but the aura around him had completely changed.
The light in his eyes was more bright than before and the black gas was radiating from his body.
"Hmm, so this is the true power of the Shadow Monarch." Jin-Woo closed his eyes and felt the power flowing through his body.
Jason smirked and nodded his head. "Now, you're somewhat ready for the big event."
...
The air began trembling.
Tens of thousands of Hunters surrounding the spot just below the Gate held their breaths and waited.
Tension filled up the atmosphere.
And then… Whenever the gazes of these Hunters topped glaring at the Gate above and lowered to the ground, they would all look at one place without fail.
That would be the back of a pair of two hunters standing at the front, staring at the gate above their heads.
With every passing second, the dungeon break was approaching closer and closer.
*Ba-thump* *ba-thump* *ba-thump*
The Black Heart that replaced his human heart, powerfully pulsed within his chest to let Jin-Woo know of the current situation.
Of course, the hearts of other Hunters were pounding away restlessly, as well. It was all
because of the nervousness seemingly oppressing everything.
Jason standing beside him smirked as he looked at the excited expression on his little
brother's face.
"T-they are coming!"
"The Gate's been opened!!"
Finally, the Gate began opening up.
The wall separating this world and the Gate disappeared and certain 'things' stayed within
finally began pouring out in endless droves.
These creatures completely blotted out the sky in no time at all.
The Hunters below became completely dumbfounded by the number of descending
creatures that seemed to be at least over one hundred thousand.
"But, how… how can that many monsters… at the same time?!"
"There, there are just too many!!!"
Gasps and screams thick with despair exploded from here and there.
All those 'certain things' must've been under the influence of gravity-reduction magic, because they all landed on the ground very slowly.
"Attack! Hurry, attack!"
"Everyone, attack!"
Before those things land on the ground, they should try to reduce their numbers, at least by a little bit. Hunters sensed that their opportunity was here and began making their moves.
But before the hunters could make a move, Jason raised his fist and shouted.
"Nobody moves!"
His voice carried a certain authority making everyone stop in their tracks.
'But, why?'
'Why did he stop us from attacking?'
