For the next few days, Jason took it easy and spent his time accompanying Cha Hae-In and his other girls at his villa.

Jin-Woo went to the U.S. to participate in the International Guild Conference accompanied by Lee Joohee and Yoo Jin-Ho.

The number of gates appearing around the world has bumped up quite a bit.

Jason let his subordinate clear the large number of gates that were appearing around the whole world.

Things were progressing pretty smoothly.

Jin-Woo's Shadow Monarch power had increased up to a high level under Jason's training.

Jason had even taught him the Death law. Jin-Woo could completely use all the powers of Shadow Monarchs after mastering the law.

Cha Hae-In also mastered the Telekinesis ability and became as strong as a National Rank Hunter.

Jason also asked Yang Xue to make more potions so he could help the other hunters in amplifying their powers.

Because of that, the overall strength of the Republic of Korea increased to a new level, even surpassing countries like America and China.

The happiest person from all these changes was none other than Go Gunhee, the Chairman of the Hunter Association of Korea.

Even though he never showed it, he was constantly worried about the common people's safety.

With the increase in the number of hunters, they could contend with the large number of gates appearing around the world, shifting the balance in their own favor.

...

Hunter's Association President's Office

As usual, Go Gunhee was still working late in his office. Unlike in the canon, his health was at its peak condition.

Suddenly he felt something was amiss and raised his head.

'…..!!'

He forgot to breathe, then.

Because except for the pitch-black darkness, everything outside had vanished.

An event like this couldn't happen.

"But… But, how can this be?"

Go Gun-Hee gasped out in pure shock and was about to get up from his chair, but then…

But then, he realized that there was someone else in the office right at that moment.

Someone he had never even seen before.

That man was sitting on the couch as if he had been there for a very long time, too.

'A human….? No, this isn't the aura of a human being.'

It was an Ice Elf. Also known as the Hyakki.

Go Gunheee turned towards it slowly and asked.

"Who…. are you?"

"…"

However, the creature didn't say anything.

Go Gun-Hee swallowed his dry saliva, unbeknownst to even himself.

'Its presence… I couldn't sense its presence at all... This is not an opponent that I can deal with.'

Go Gun-Hee quickly assessed his situation, and then, very softly flipped his smartphone up to glance at the screen in order to signal for help.

When he did that, the monster shifted its gaze over to him.

[All contacts with the outside world have been cut off in this space.]

*Flinch!*

Go Gunhee confirmed that the smartphone had no signal, just as the creature had said, and put the device down.

"Am I dreaming a bad dream right now?"

It was then.

"Keuk!"

Go Gun-Hee felt a sharp pain brush past his left shoulder and quickly grabbed it tight.

Something happened the moment this monster pointed at him. He cautiously lifted his hand away to discover a cut wound on the shoulder, as if something sharp had sliced him up.

Even if his body had recovered completely but it was not strong enough to take a hit from the Monarchs until he used the power bestowed by the Rulers.

The old man dazedly stared at his wound before raising his head back up. The monster was still sitting relaxedly on the same spot on the couch.

[Do you think that pain is also a part of your dream?]

Go Gun-Hee nodded his head.

"I see. So, this is reality. In that case, let me ask you again. Just what are you?"

[I wanted you to recognize me first, but, in the end, you were just a simple human.]

"Just a human….??"

The monster slowly stood up from the couch.

At the same time, couches, coffee tables, and other furniture near the creature were shoved violently away and crashed into the walls.

*Kwa-du-duk!!*

The furniture froze up in an instant and got stuck on the walls.

'Oh, my god….'

Go Gunhee's eyes opened wider.

The goosebumps-inducing chill slowly permeated into the office of the Association President.

It was then.

*Knock!* *knock!* *knock!*

[Huh?!]

'What?!!'

Both Go Gunhee and the Hyakki were taken back by the sudden intrusion, especially the monster as it had personally sealed the space. Nobody could enter this space without its permission but now...

The gate was pushed open and a person walked inside leisurely.

Go Gun-Hee and the Ice Elf stared at the man as he approached the old man's side.

"Huh, J-Jason? Hunter Jason?!"

When the old man saw him clearly, he immediately recognized the man who just entered the office. He couldn't believe his eyes. The helper Go Gun-Hee wanted to contact just now was standing in front of him now.

"Hehe, you seem busy old man." Jason greeted him with a smile.

[I-Im... Impossible!! H-How can you...]

Jason grinned and completed his sentence. "How can I enter your space, right?"

Glancing at him, Jason spoke in a cold voice. "You really made me wait so much. Finally, you came out of your hiding spot. Hehe..."

[What are you...? Heok!]

Jason didn't give a single chance to Frost Monarch as two daggers flashed, stabbing the Ice Elf's limbs and immobilizing them.

[Aaahahahaaahk!!]

"Oh, just shut your crap!" Jason flashed in front of the Frost Monarch and grabbed its face, slamming the Ice Elf on the floor.

He glanced at Go Gunhee and addressed him. "President, I'll deal with this creature so don't worry too much and get your wounds treated first."

After saying that, Jason's shadow extended, covering the entire floor of the President's office.

Multiple dark chains shot out of the shadow and stabbed the Frost Monarch, penetrating its limbs and other parts of its body, dragging the Ice Elf into the darkness.

Jason didn't give it a chance to scream in pain, let alone reach the thought to escape.
