It was a large knight covered from head to toe in blood-red armor with a Y-shaped hole built into its helmet. It also wore a tattered red cape and had a long red hair-like ornament extending out of the back of its helmet.

"Blood-Red Commander Igris!" Jason mumbled in shock as he stared straight at the knight.

'Isn't it going to appear in the Job Changing Quest?! What's it doing here?'

Igris was staring at him with his cold eyes.

While Jason and Igris were locked into a staring contest, Jason was hit by an ominous mana as the surrounding mana began to shake, crying in fear.

A powerful pressure descended on his body which caused the floor to crack under his feet.

But it was only for a split second due to surprise as a powerful aura radiated from his body, neutralizing the pressure, completely overwhelming it.

A smile appeared on his face as he said without looking behind, "I never thought that I would get to meet you so soon, Shadow Monarch Ashborn!"

Sure enough, a large shadow was standing before the gate staring at him with glowing purple eyes.

The shadow was quite huge and muscular with glowing flame-like purple hair and two curved black horns. It was wearing jet-black armor and a long smoky black cloak, wielding a pure black sword.

Why Ahsborn?!

The answer was very simple. After all, if Igris was present here then it was not difficult for him to guess the owner of this dungeon.

The light in Ashborn's eyes changed for a second before returning to normal. He then walked forward towards the throne.

When he passed by Jason, he glanced at him as if trying to see through him.

Jason grinned and continued to stare at Ashborn as the big guy walked past him, giving Ashborn the vibe of staring at a divine being.

Igris got on one knee and kneeled before the throne as Ashborn sat down on it.

"Who are you?!" An old voice echoed in the room as Ashborn's eyes turned serious.

Even though the question seemed simple, Ashborn was pointing toward the power residing in Jason.

Jason thought for a moment before he chuckled. "...I'm someone whom the Absolute Being has chosen."

"What? Chosen... by the... Absolute Being?!" Lights flickered in Ashborn's purple eyes. "But it's impossible..."

"Haha, I understand you. After all, the absolute being died several eons ago, right?" Jason asked with a mysterious smile.

Seeing Ashborn nodding his head with a serious expression, Jason smiled mysteriously and continued.

"But I never said that it was the absolute being from your world, did I?"

"My... World...?" Ashborn's eyes narrowed as he stared at Jason. He opened his mouth after a minute, "I see. So that's how it is. What brings you to this world then?"

"Maybe fate." Jason shrugged his shoulders. "So why do you summon me here?"

"To satisfy my curiosity," Ashborn replied.

"Oh! I see. That's a good answer. It's a little surprising to see that you can still feel emotions." Jason nodded his head and laughed lightly. "I mean, you're alive from so many eons, normally anyone would turn stone-hearted."

"I get you. Hadn't felt it for a long time," Ashborn replied with a chuckle, finding their conversation somewhat funny.

"Well, which side do you stand?"

"On the same side as you."

Ashborn stared at him and asked. "What do you mean?"

"I also want to prevent the Monarchs from destroying humanity." Jason sighed and said.

"Well, to be honest, I think it's just completely the wrong thing to bring a completely different species into your own grudge, especially one who had nothing to do with that said grudge."

"That makes the two of us," Ashborn replied in a serious voice, agreeing with him.

"I can feel that three of the Monarchs have descended on Earth and have chosen their vessels. But since they are hiding their traces, it's difficult to pinpoint their location." Jason waved his hand and a huge throne-like chair arose from the solid ground. He took a set on it and continued. "If you hadn't summoned me via the gate, I might have not found your aura too."

Ashborn was surprised by his magic and nodded his head, listening to his words.

"You're right. You're like me or else a normal human can never feel our presence at all if we don't want to." The King of Death sighed heavily, his shoulders dropping, looking tired.

"I'm tired of this long, unending war. At first, it's my revenge which drives like a force but after so many eons, I'm tired of it."

"I know. I have read about you." Jason smiled, showing a rare genuine smile. "You're really a kind soul. It's such a shame that you... You're different from me."

"Hahaha... maybe," Ashborn laughed. "Since you know about everything. It turns things a little easier. Are you interested in joining hands with me?"

Jason shrugged his shoulder, fine with both ways. "I don't mind at all. After all, I even have a perfect candidate as the vessel for your power of death. Even though I have changed the future for good but it can never change the basic nature of a living being."

"Oh? Who can make someone like you praise him so much?" Ashborn asked curiously.

"You'll see him soon enough," Jason replied. "Oh yeah, since you're a Monarch. Can you feel the presence of others? I mean you can find them since you're one of them."

Ashborn shook his head. "I can't. They all are hiding in the space between the dimensions. As long as they don't descend completely, it is almost impossible to find them."

"Just as I thought." Jason sighed in disappointment.

"You tell me you come from another world right? What type of place it was?" Ashborn asked.

Jason smiled and shared his foggy memories of his original world with Ashborn.

Shadow Monarch was clearly shocked as so much information entered his mind but he was more intrigued to learn that this world was actually a fantasy world written in a book by a human.

As they continued to chat about their plan, their talk shifted to Igris as Ashborn could feel Jason's interest in his loyal subordinate.

"You seem interested in my powerful general Igris." Ashborn had seen Jason observing Igris with interest.

"Yeah." Jason didn't hide it either and said. "How can I be not interested in one of the wings of the Shadow Army, the infamous Soldier of Death Igris?"

"Haha..." Ashborn couldn't help but laugh at his words, seemed quite interested in his new friend. "So, want him to follow you?!"

"I had before. But..." Jason sighed before continuing with a smile. "He is very loyal to you and bending his loyalty towards me using my power, I will only be insulting the honor of a knight."

Ashborn's eyes showed an amused light before he laughed. "Hahaha... you really are an interesting fellow."

"Well then, I think it's time for me to take my leave. The old man will be dying from anxiety, waiting for me."

Ashborn and Igris continued to stare at his back until it disappeared from their view.

Nobody knew what they were thinking about!

Since Jason and Ashborn had reached an agreement, now they only had to wait for the movements of the Monarchs.

Jason also asked Ashborn to let him meet the Architect since he could put that crafty and cunning bastard into submission.

When Jason exited the gate, it closed down in its own, indicating that the boss had been slain.

The people cheered in joy with reporters fanatically capturing images of Jason for the headlines.

Jason greeted Go Gunhee and made a fake report before leaving the place for the Association to clean up.
