A few minutes prior
Jason emerged from the portal and opened his eyes slowly, looking at his surroundings, still feeling a little shaken up from the feeling of traveling to a different universe for the first time.
He wanted to know his current location, the place where he had just arrived.
Looking around, Jason was a little surprised.
Because he seemed to be inside a place that resembled a cave's interior with a large passage enough to accommodate large animals.
'Just what in the world is this place?'
Releasing his spiritual intent, he scanned the entire place, forming a map inside his head.
'Hmm, I can feel a few auras from that direction. But their signatures are quite weird. Aside from that weak one that resembles a human, the other one has a very strong breath with great vitality.'
Walking in that direction, Jason asked Rin.
'Rin, can you find my current location? What is this place?'
[Master is currently inside a space crack.]
'Do you mean I made a mistake and came to the wrong place?'
[It is not that Master. Master is at the right place but rather than landing in the universe, you by mistake entered the portal that was connected to a space crack.]
'You made a calculation mistake?' Jason raised his eyebrow at her words.
[It is a pure mistake. Hehe...]
Watching Rin laughing like that, Jason sighed.
After the system had upgraded, unlocking more contents, it had turned into an AI, with free emotions much like a human.
[And I want Master to tone down his Qi or else you might destroy this universe.]
'Hmm, what do you mean by that?'
[Master, the current world is much inferior to the previous one. So despite you possessing the same strength, in this universe you're thousands of times stronger.]
'Oh, elaborate on it.' Jason asked, feeling curious.
[Master, every universe is governed by a higher existence which has laid down laws to suppress and manage his domain. The universe 'Tales of Demons and Gods' was a higher existence and that means you're under the suppression of over millions of laws. When you reach the Sage level and kill the Sage Emperor, you overcome all those laws and become the Master of that universe. But here the number of natural laws is only a few thousand. So, if you don't suppress your strength, this universe will break apart from your power, killing all living entities.]
'Are you saying that I am even stronger than the Gods of this place?'
[Master, you're a God in this place. You can literally do anything.]
'It is really interesting.' Jason chuckled, thinking about the situation.
During their conversation, he had arrived at his destination. Raising his head, he saw a few figures.
While most of them looked like angels, Jason's eyes landed on that young man.
'His face?... He seems like a Chinese?! No! He is a Korean. But he is not just your average person. That massive amount of power is no joke!'
[Master sure knows how to joke. If you even sneeze at him, he will be obliterated.]
Jason's face twitched hearing Rin's comments. Coughing a little, he called out...
"Hello! What's your name?" Jason asked the young man beside him as they moved through space.
Sung Il-Hwan had a dumbfounded expression on his face, watching the young man in shock."M-My name is... Sorry, My name is Sung Il-Hwan."
"Korean?" Jason raised his eyebrow at him which earned a nod from the young man.
Pointing behind him, he asked. "Then what was that weird place? And how did you get stuck there?"
"That was a dungeon." Sung Il-Hwan replied sincerely.
"Dungeon?" Jason had read Sung Il-Hwan's memory and extracted the information related to this dungeon.
'Interesting! I have to take a look to be sure...'
Jason smiled and raised his head, his eyes sparkled with bright light. "Well, it's nice to meet you but it's time for us to part ways."
Sung Il-Hwan felt a power pulling him back. Raising his head, he saw a portal in front of his eyes, not too far away. Looking at the things showing in that portal, Sung Il-Hwan's eyes revealed joy as tears rolled down his face.
It was the picture of an old park in which a group of people had gathered. Most of them were depressed, their expression heavy.
"Go ahead." Jason pushed the young man from behind, urging him to go ahead.
"Wait." The young man turned his head and asked. "I never caught your name."
"My name? I have many but you can call me 'Hades'!" Jason smiled at him and waved his hand, pushing him out of the portal.
Sung Il-Hwan felt an invisible hand grabbing him as he was pulled out.
Opening his eyes again, he saw that he had arrived at the park.
"This is... the old Park. But how did I get here?" Sung Il-Hwan had a headache as he held his head. "Wasn't I stuck in the dungeon? How did I... and who is this Hades? Do I know someone with this name?..."
While Il-Hwan was puzzled by a name constantly appearing in his mind, the people inside the park noticed his presence.
One of the hunters felt something and raised his head to see a young man sitting on the ground. Looking closely, he recognized the person and shouted excitedly.
"Sung Il-Hwan! It's Sung Il-Hwan!"
"What? Il-Hwan is back?" The person standing beside him followed his line of sight and saw Sung Il-Hwan.
"Thank God!" Another hunter looked at the sky and silently murmured.
One of the experienced ones immediately shouted at the police who had formed a barricade around the park.
"Call the doctors!"
Instantly Sung Il-Hwan was swarmed up by many people, asking his different questions.
But Il-Hwan was not in the mood to focus on them as the name 'Hades' put pressure on his mind, causing him to faint.
"Hurry! Carry him to the hospital!" One of the doctors hurriedly said.
At this point, a figure was standing at the top of the building, looking at the show with a smile on his face.
"Will he be alright?"
An alluring voice sounded inside his head.
Jason smiled. "He'll be alright. It's just the side effect of traveling in the river of time and alteration of his memories."
"Then why did you bring him back in time? Shouldn't it be best to just take him back to his home?"
Another charming voice asked him, slightly displeased.
"Haha... I just want to do it. I want to know how it feels moving back and forth in time." Jason laughed.
"You!... Can you be serious for once? He might have lost his mind and become a cripple?"
"Oh come on, have some faith in me here." Jason smiled as he looked at the ambulance driving away.
"What is your plan now?"
Jason closed his eyes and slowly spread his spiritual intent like a net all over the city.
'Hmm, the city is quite big, filled with a large number of residents, approx 1.50 million. Among them, around three hundred people can use the ability to use mana. The situation is not that good...'
Opening his eyes, Jason spoke. "The time zone is around early two thousand. It will be a little easy to get our identity card but for that, I have to hack the data."
'Rin, how much time do you need to do that?'
[Already done, Master. Here is your ID card!]
A small card materialized with Jason's photo on the card.
"Not bad." Jason smiled at Rin's insane speed. "You're the most reliable ally."
[Thanks for the praise, Master.]
After Rin received her full version, the new features were just insane. She was the most advanced supercomputer with god-like abilities.
Turning around, Jason left the place, moving to his next step of plan.
