"Eirlys, did you talk to someone just now?"
"Ah, Mother!" I ran over when I saw my mother standing at the entrance. "Mother, thank you for your hard fork today."
Mother smiled at me and stroked my hair. "I'm home, dear. Have you eaten yet?"
"Yes. I ate the leftover food from last night!"
"Have you done the laundry? And washing the dishes?"
"I have done everything. Mother, take a rest. I will fetch a glass of water for you!" I pulled my mother's hand gently and made her sit on the couch. Then I ran to the kitchen, poured some water into the glass, and gave it to my mother.
"Thank you. I feel refreshed now. You really are a good girl."
I was happy to hear that compliment. I worked hard every day just to receive that simple thank you from her. It was worth getting tired all day for that.
