I don't know if he is really Zion's friend. I have never met him before but maybe they do know each other. Because, most of the people I know will rather pretend to not know Zion than be associated with him.
A boy with connections to the underworld is almost as dangerous as associating with people from the underworld. You do not know what you could get into and what that might cost you if you do. They are ruthless people after all.
Besides, to have connections to the underworld entirely means you have some kind of … history and that is not the best thing to have.
