I follow Mayor Johan to the window and find that fires have broken out all over the city. That's what I was smelling through the slightly opened window. From here we can't see what's causing them, the building is shielded by trees and hedges, but my sensitive ears can hear fighting in the streets.
Most of the voices don't have the signature deep timbre of the Titans, and the only thing that could possibly outnumber the Titans here is a mass Portal opening event or a slave uprising. This building is too quiet for a slave uprising, but then, did I see any here except the pets? Even the menial staff are from the Titan Clan.
