Chapter 2 - Chapter 1- Pastel skies above calm seas

The sky is painted with a maple orange gradient falling into a relaxing pink as a ship with white sails and an intricate crest resembling the silhouette of an angel, docks itself at the harbor of the city of the eastern highlands, Aramus. From this ship comes out a tall man with white hair and black empty eyes exiting the ship with a man with navy blue eyes and a grey coat following closely behind. Stopping at the end of the boardwalk the two men look back at the ship to see their crew step out the ship one by one walking past the two men and towards a big building made out of bricks and stone.

The last three crewmates pass the two men with drunken expressions and staggered movements, the shortest of the bunch trips on the final board in front of the man with empty eyes, Horus who looks at the tallest of the trio, Gabriel, with an annoyed expression. "I told you three not to drink so much. Unlike Cessil, you three can't take your liquor. By dawn you three will be cleaning the barnacles off the ship." Walking away as the final words left his mouth. The man in grey, Cessil follows closely behind as they get ahead of the crew opening the door to the building akin to a mansion. Pacing towards a giant platform. Horus sits down in the middle of it, waiting for every person to get in; his every breath being a silent one. Footsteps parade the city streets as passersby and citizens look out their windows and alleyways as they watch a march of more than 500 men enter a single building one by one without a word leaving their mouths, nor their eyes wandering about. Their noise fills the streets of Aramus as the people watch at awe with how neatly the parade of men went through, and with the last man entering the room, the doors shut. Leaving the pastel glow of the sun to illuminate the giant mansion through the windows and the cracks of the door, slowly fading away as each minute passes by.

The group arranges their numbers, with the end product being four groups of 140 lining the space end to end, with the twilight illuminating their paths as they stop their pace and stand in front of the man with empty eyes. Waiting a bit more until the halls become dark, with only a shed of moonlight entering the windows as the man with empty eyes stands up lighting up the room with a bright white light from above them as he starts to speak, his eyes filling with a dark crimson, almost black color. He says, "Congratulations everyone. Today you all accomplished something amazing. We've destroyed the Boros faction's military battalion, leaving not a single comrade behind and facing their aces with unwavering resolve. So tonight, I'd like to reward you all until the sun rises again." Ending his sentence Horus walks down from the stage his hands on his sides, swaying with each step to reach a door with a silver handle and opens it. A burst of yellow smoke leaves the room, followed by a ball of fire exploding in the middle of the hall, exploding into hundreds of pieces of colorful paper as their families and loved ones come running out with smiles on their faces, some dashing through the crowds with bright trails of light being left behind as they look for their children to embrace them. And with the last one leaving the room, the only person without someone by their side, was the man with empty eyes, Horus and the man with navy blue eyes, Cessil.

The light in the room turns into a soft gold, Horus gestures Cessil to follow him up the stairs and towards the balcony. Leaning out of the railings, Horus' eyes turning a shade lighter as Cessil follows behind him.

"Isn't it great? The moon I mean; never worrying about a thing as it circles the world over and over again. Round and round it goes, the spirits slowly floating upwards as they find the place where they shall be judged, shining so brightly at the darkest period in our day to day so the lost find their way. Your parents are still there, walking towards the moonlight, watching over you with each passing step. Even though what happened did, I can hear them say their thanks and congratulations to both of us."

Cessil walks next to Horus putting his hand on the railing letting out a tear that soon turned into a silent weep as Horus' eyes turn into a dark crimson red.

"I wish they are. They chose the path they chose and I can only make them proud."

Horus stands up and pats Cessil on the shoulder leaving a gift where he was. A letter with a familiar crest, his family's crest. But he doesn't open it, holding it with both hands gently he continues to weep in silence.

On the building's roof patio, stood another man, Lucas; Black hair and orange eyes with a black trench coat with boots and gloves, as well as a black fedora on a man at a height of 5'5 looking towards the moon with a fogged bottle in his hand, clenching it tightly as he tenses his brow, the lingering scent of liquor wafts into the air as lets out a pained sigh.

Horus walks up to Lucas and sits down beside him after tapping him in the shoulder, surprising Lucas as he snaps back from deep thinking

"Still holding on to that?"

"I.... still need it."

Lucas responds trying to force a smile, his cheeks red from the liquor he drunk on the ship.

"The power to hold an entire lineage in the palm of your hand just like that. You are quite the spectacle."

Horus states, glancing at the fogged glass bottle, he sees faces in agony slamming on the glass trying to scream for help as they get enveloped in the fog.

"They deserve it really, doing something so horrendous for something so simple. They were insane." Lucas says as he sits beside Horus with a grim expression.

"They got their comeuppance at the very least. People like that would do anything to feed their own useless curiosities." Horus responds as he puts his satchel on his lap to grab something. Lucas noticing his actions, sneaks a glance inside Horus' satchel being surprised to see the night sky inside it.

"Before they left that day, they gave me this. They said once you accomplished your thousandth mission, I should give it to you. Even asked for my help to set it up. Use it once we finish this one."

Horus hands Lucas a hand sized piece of crystal and looks him in the eyes with a melancholic expression as he stands up and heads towards the door.

Going back down he sees his crews faces filled with joy as they talk to their parents as if it had been centuries since they last spoke, chatting about stories and missions that were light enough for public disclosure. Music fills the room as three people go up on to the stage and start playing bright tunes and ballads with a piano a violin and a blonde girl's singing. Endless amounts of food enter the hall as the people do as they wish. That night, the Quillion array looked and acted like normal people.

The sun rises with a bright yellow glow seeping through the windows and halls of the Quillion array's base filling each room with a soft warm glow telling those inside that it's time for another day. Filling one of the rooms the light shines on a working Horus, filling up papers for the Quillion arrays private matters while in another room is a man with red hair and turquoise eyes writing on stacks of paperwork with quick fluid motions as he moves from one paper to the next moving at quite a fast pace, reading through the contents of every message and writing down the necessary info for each one in a matter of a few seconds. The man's name is Mira; Red hair, turquoise eyes, with a white long-sleeved polo with a frilled tie and black pants standing at a height of 6'3. His eyes moving like a bullet with every paragraph he reads and his hands flow through each blank space and line he needs to write signatures on. His hands stopping instantly as someone knocks on his door.

"Come in." He tells the person on the other side of the door.

"A letter about your project." Horus says as he walks in to the room, a piece of paper in his hands.

"A letter? From Jonathan I presume." Mira asks as he stands up and moves closer to Horus

"Someone's bothering your men at the field." Horus states giving Mira the paper in his hands which reads.

"Sir, a group of knights have come to seize a massive part of our operating land. They've brought 50 or so men and have killed 3 of ours just for looking at them. I suspect that the Boros faction made contact with the royal guard. Their alibi this time is that the land is being seized for suspicious activity."

Mira looks up to Horus and thanks him as he leaves the room and heads towards the field using a carriage, diving into deep thought as he makes the horse go faster.

Stopping at a large field is a carriage with fruits inside its cart, driven by Mira as the warm morning glow bounces off his skin, making his eyes look like gems and his hair flow through the air as the breeze flows past him. Stepping off the carriage Mira finds his workers and the royal guards blocking the path to the construction zone making Mira show an annoyed expression.

"May I ask why you all have come here today?" Mira asks the guards as he walks in front of them in a trench coat with a satchel hanging on his side. The knights raise their guard as a man in gilded armor with a white beard at a height of 6'0 slips through them with a sword and shield

"We are here in the name of the king. We've received an anonymous tip that you and your men here are plotting to assassinate my lord." The man said as he walked towards Mira with an angry expression.

"Is that so? Then I assume that the king has been informed? For your information, we are currently trying to construct a neighborhood for the homeless. In the name of your king, we have been given the permission to construct and give away these houses in exchange for a safe haven for our troops." Mira explains as he and the knight meets in the middle of the knights and the workers.

"Lies! The king would never allow something so ambitious to a bunch of nobodies! And a safe haven? Why in the world would the king give protection to a bunch of bandits! Do you even know who I am?! I am grand admiral Hans Griendervinde!" The man exclaims, his tone getting louder and louder as Mira's expression grows more and more Condescending.

Creating an aura of killing intent around him, Mira looks down on Hans continuing to make his aura more and more intense as he starts to talk. "I'll have you know that you have insulted my comrades and you even have the audacity to foolishly state your title as if you're some higher power than even the lowliest members of my group. I am Mira Harmon, the secretary of Horus Quinn of the Quillion array. A group of people you have no right to look down upon." Mira states glaring at Hans who has fallen down to the ground pale as a siren. Breaking a crystal from his satchel Mira shows the knights a video of their king sitting beside a man with white hair and crimson eyes, his legs crossed with a glass of red wine in his hands as the king laughs in fascination for the machine behind the scenes and starts to speak to it

"To the misfortunate people of Aramus, good morrow! It is I king Jarem Nix and beside me is the leader of a group named the Quillion array, Horus. He has offered me and all of you there a chance to help both you all and I in exchange for the safety of their crew of over 500 men! And if you still wish to hold your suspicions, I have given Horus here a copy of the contract with my blood as a signature making sure that this contract is fulfilled no matter what." After that, Mira reveals the aforesaid contract which proceeds to glow where the king shed his blood. A guard falls to the ground his mouth foaming and his eyes rolling back into his head as the other knights fall moment after moment.

"The blood of the king has a special property, first, it makes sure that both parties are safe until the contract is fulfilled. However, it only prevents sickness or most dire injuries in his territory. And secondly, those who betray the contract or betray the king are killed at the sight of his blood. This, is the security measure of your king." Hans' eyes fill with dread but then, his eyes explode from his head and every organ inside him begins to explode as well. He screams the loudest he had his entire life until his lungs get destroyed losing consciousness as his body gets mutilated from the inside.

"Scum worthy of such punishment. You are truly detestable." Mira says as he proceeds to put gloves on and waves his fingers making the corpses of the knights burn that then turn into impossibly clean water which promptly vaporizes as Mira turns his back and tells his workers to continue construction in a calm tone, walking back to the carriage as he arranges his thoughts and looks through his satchel before he enters.

At 10 am in the morning Mira starts the day off ridding the city of scum that dreams of flames.

Horus finishes his paperwork and heads to the room of three of his men. Gabriel, Michael and Lucas to make them scrape off the barnacles under the ship. With a smirk on his face and jet-black eyes he kicks down the door of the room manifesting monsters of shadows that enter the room with swords and guns in hand which promptly wakes the three up making them fill the room with crystals, dust, and glowing white strings that Horus destroys before it reaches outside the room.

"Time to clean the ship" Horus states as he throws scrapers on each person's bed. After a moment the world turns grey for a second, and in the next the three are in the sea wearing black jumpers with the scrapers in their hands with Horus looking at them with a sign. "Be back before high noon. We have things to finish." Horus looks at Gabriel and throws his sign towards him as he tries to swim up hitting him in the stomach and pushing him back until he hit the boat taking the air out his lungs while Horus teleports out of the water and into the entrance of the training hall where he opens the door and sees Cessil and a man with black eyes and short black hair preparing to start sparring.

Horus sits and watches the two from a bench under a tree. Both of them are wearing protective suits, with Cessil being armed with a sword and the man with black hair, Norris is armed with a long spear. Both weapons are made of foam with wooden handles but this doesn't stop the two from creating clean cuts in the ground and walls as they start their battle. A clean string of attacks barrage Cessil as he avoids them all by the skin of his teeth, making sure Cessil has no leeway to move. But Cessil starts his counter attack first by parrying a straight jab from Norris and running on his spear until he reaches Norris' face and tries to get behind him, his hair turning a bright blue as he jumps above Norris who is able to prevent Cessils attack by jabbing him with the back of his spear before he lands, hitting Cessil in the stomach and pushing him back to the edge of the platform. Cessil's hair turns into a bright cyan as his speed increases drastically and his strength Is sharpened tenfold before he starts another string of attacks against Norris. Like flowing rapids down a hill Cessil goes at Norris hit after hit pushing him back over and over while Norris desperately tries to counter, and after one last hit, the raging rapids of water turn into a deadly burst of water, striking Norris' spear and breaking it, prompting Norris to use his ability.

The room fills with a pale gold color for just a few moments, giving the room a peaceful, silent glow of gold at 8 am in the morning. The birds could be heard from afar and the wind brushes through the flower garden making its pleasant scent fill the hall as Norris for just a moment strikes Cessil using a spear made out of a potent white material. Cessil turns into Navy death negating most of the damage before he gets knocked outside the field by the sheer strength of Norris' ability which ended the battle with one single strike. Horus stands up and informs the two that breakfast is ready and throws Cessil a roll of gauze for his injuries and promptly leaves to go eat breakfast.

Entering the dining hall, Horus is met with the faces of over 400 of his men chatting about and walking around the room with the glow of the morning sun basking them in its warm light, bouncing off the walls and through the doors as it paints the room a soft gold. Sitting down at the table, Horus and his men start their day off with abundant amounts of food flowing through the doors and onto the table they sit at. Dishes of all kinds fill their tables with complementing scents and pleasant looks as the crew wait patiently for the countless droves of maids to leave the room and start the feast.
