The day was so fucking long! My eyes and back hurt ๐ช. I like coding but the set-up part is the shittiest!
Umakant Sir came in to take attendance and asked us to select one desktop. We needed to set-up unique user-id and password and personalize the desktop for using it throughout our first-year lessons. I tried in the desktop I had chosen yesterday, but that idiot did not start. I kept on pressing the power button but nothing. It kept beeping. I looked around to find some other empty spot.
Umakant Sir pointed towards the back of the class and told me to take the seat and it was next to that jerk from yesterday ๐. Not that I wish to be judgmental or something. I had just tried conversing for split seconds. How well could I have known him! But is it bad of me to call him a jerk just because he did not wish me yesterday? No right? He was rude after all!
I did not like him! ๐
Well despite all the fucking bullshit I dragged myself to the seat next to him. It was only him and me in the backrow. Others sat ahead of us. I sighed and turned on the desktop. The CPU light blinked, and desktop came to life but not with a blue screen as Umakant Sir had told. The screen was black with gibberish scribbled on it in white. I had not a single idea as for how to handle that. I raised myself from the chair searching for Sir to help me. He was not there. All others were busy, everybody else's desktop was working. Some had their headphones on listening to some videos. I could not catch anybody's attention.
I looked sideways. His desktop was also working. He was wearing a black stripped T-shirt and blue jeans. His eyes were squinted, his forehead was creased, he seemed extremely focused. The lazy demeanor from yesterday was gone. His long slender fingers moved steadily across the keyboard, sure of their actions. Not a bad sight at all!! ๐ Curse me as much as you can, but I had to ask him for help.
"Excuse me!", I said softly like yesterday. He did not respond. I looked around again to find somebody else, but my eyes turned to this guy again. He did not glance in my direction even once! I reached out and touched his arm with my index finger, "Excuse me, Please!"
He replied with only a "Yes". His voice was hard, border lining rude.
I asked him to look at my desktop and see if he could help resolve it. Trust me when I say I don't like him even more after that moment, because he looked from his screen to mine just once and in Flash kind of hurry and immediately returned back to whatever he was doing with a blunt "No!". What the heck man! ๐ก It's okay if you don't know what is happening but you can spend more than just a millisecond and atleast see what is actually there on the screen!
I thought, Okay! Maybe he does not like talking to strangers. So, I tried to befriend him.
I told him my name was Anjana and asked him his. His was Mubashir Ali.
I told him I had graduated from WBUT with CS major and similarly I asked him his. He has graduated from Jadavpur University, Biotech major.
I was pleased to be getting answers, but I could not continue the charade any longer. Sir had already entered the room and I had to get started with my set-up.
The day simply went on without me interfering him. I don't know but I feel kind of strangeโฆ.. I heard him during lunch hour talking to Palwinder and Shashank in a different tone, nice and kind and happy maybe. What was the problem in talking to me in the same tone? All the while I alone did all the talking part while his replies were curt. He did not even meet my eyes once.
I did not turn back to look at him afraid that I would get angry. I had made so much effort to initiate a conversation, thinking that he might be uncomfortable with strangers, but look there he was making effortless conversations with everyone else around except for me.
I am super pissed, and I will continue rambling if I stay up any further. Nighty Night dude! Pray that I don't cross roads with that jerk tomorrow ๐ด.
