Esmond was sitting in the back seat of the Range Rover Layla had driven over.
Apparently, his mother had told Julia to get her daughter enrolled into university as well beside Esmond.
He had no clue about the schemes of his mother and Aunt Julia, but it was obvious to him that they were trying to find him someone.
Esmond had no issues with the idea of having a romantic partner, but he wasn't sure right now if he wanted to have more than one partner.
However, after seeing Amelia and May once they were picked up, Esmonds mind started to lean to one side quite strongly.
'Definitely… going to make them all my Queens…'
.
"So… you're joining us too, Lay Lay?" Amelia asked while calling Layla by her nickname.
The two were friends who knew one another through their parents and as such came to know each other from a young age.
Amelia knew Layla was supposed to be taking up her position as Esmonds personal secretary soon, but it solely depended on her mother Julia when that time would come.
She expected Esmond had already made plans within his own mind about the future of all three women in the car with him without having said a word to them.
"That's right.
Mum said it would be best to go to uni as it would give me more opportunities, especially if Esmond ever hires me beyond being his personal secretary."
"Ohh, so you're his secretary…" May replied after hearing Layla speak of her position.
In fact, Layla found May to be quite the character with her sharp look and cold attitude but for some reason she felt hostility coming from her after mentioning she was Esmonds secretary.
This went on until they arrived at the uni campus, further continuing until they found some common ground at uni.
.
"They keep staring…"
"Its fine Lay Lay… Esmond is here, so just ignore it…" Amelia said back to Layla, completely aware of the many eyes on them as they were walking together as a group.
"Mm… if I had my way I would poke out all of their eyes with my nails…" May chose not to hide her cruel and harsh side in front of the girls since she felt a sense of connection with them.
While it wasn't anything to rave about it was enough for her to find a sense of kindred relation with them
.
"May… please reframe from maiming anyone… *sigh* if you want, I can organise some security for you girls when I'm not around." They already had people watching them from afar, taken care of by Carter who'd realised early on that Esmond would make them his women.
Esmond offered them someone that would be visually present though more than capable to deal with any pesky bugs that might come to bother them.
However, the girls all refused and decided to continue with their routines.
Amelia caught up with some friends from high school and left for one of her classes while Layla walked with Esmond to her first class of the day with May walking on the other side of Esmond.
"Let me know when you're done, and where to meet, ok?"
"Mm… ok." Esmond agreed with Layla as she left for the stairs up to her room, waving at Esmond while running.
"She likes you…
*Sigh* I'm not one to take competition well…
However,… they both aren't bad people…" May believed she saw a twinkle in the corner of Esmonds eye that showed his passion for Layla.
But it wasn't enough to stop her from gaining what she most desired in this world.
"You aren't bad either…" Esmond said while holding his arm out in a gentlemanly manner.
Taking the hint, May intertwined her arm with Esmonds as they headed off to their first class.
While walking with Esmond, May understood something in her heart and mind that she hadn't expected before but understanding it was possibility was enough for her to comprehend what she needed to be done.
.
The day went on smoothly for the four with no one bothering any of them, however by the time they met up at the end of the day, they all looked exhausted.
"I need vodka…" Layla moaned, while complaining about her professors that'd bothered her all day with simple tasks of introduction and weekly tasks that would take no time at all.
"Yeah… lets go to a bar.
Esmonds buying." Amelia said without shy one bit, grabbing the girls and left the bags with Esmond since he wouldn't be bothered with the weight of their books, they were carrying all day.
After spending a couple of hours drinking at the bar near the uni campus, Esmond ended up driving the Range Rover home, dropping the girls home along the way.
Esmond told Layla he would pick her up in the morning, so he took the car home after dropping her.
To his surprise in the morning, May lived not too far away from him, much like Amelia but it wasn't of any concern to him.
Actually, all of them lived quite near each other so it wasn't a hassle dropping them home.
.
After dropping Amelia last, Esmond was getting called by Carter, 'Hey dumbass… those ships have cleared radars right now.
Hurry up and get home.'
Grabbing something to eat from the kitchen in the cabin when Esmond returned to the space, he went off to find Echo and Carter so they could get to work.
There would be people on the cargo ships that'd been purchased by Esmond who were tasked with operating them and getting them all to Adelaide.
They were all carrying loads of waste from the countries that had impounded them and previously seized the goods.
Esmond planned to get the waste from the ships into the space but also the ships themselves.
Esmond wasn't worried about the people what would be on the ship since the Zadrisians were present and more than capable to rewrite or erase memories with the Psionic Energy.
Actually, all the various races within the space were showing great growth.
Veveliaans for example had made great progress combining their powers with others of their kind and those compatible to create some new skills and abilities.
While only a portion were created through training, most had come through their connections with the other residents.
It wouldn't add to the requirement that was necessary to increase the numbers of summoned Veveliaans but Esmond wanted bothered.
He found the Veveliaan, like the other races were working hard to make sure everyone had power and strength to offer as individuals instead of relying on mass numbers of the species to fight.
.
Carter had actually found people that were wanting to escape their homelands and find greater pastures, including the crew of the ships which were former naval captains and officers that formerly belonged to various militaries around the world.
They were people found by Carter and Echo to have been discharged dishonourably, however when viewing the reports, there was clear bias shown to certain people with these officers being the scapegoats.
At the end of the day, those with people in power could sway the hand of justice as they saw fit.
Anton had made his own enquiries on the matter and searched thoroughly for the answers to their dismissals, and it was as Carter and Echo had found.
"Bring them over and tried to recruit them permanently, after which they can return to the upgraded vessels and leave when the times comes.
Those that don't, have the Zadrisian change their memories."
Esmond told Carter and Echo while looking out at a lake within the space which was more like a huge sea, but it was where the shipyards were.
.
As the ships appeared within the space like they'd driven through the gates that appeared before the cargo ships leaving them no ability to manoeuvre other than going straight ahead.
Esmond watched as hundreds of ships entered the space with his eyesight capturing the faces of the stunned passengers and crew who felt like discovers of a new world.
Carter shifted all the people over to the Second City and began their orientation to the place and got their thoughts on the two choices ahead of time.
Echo in the meantime quickly got the ships to the port and started having them cleared away of personal items and cargo before rebuilding the ships.
They would be refitted to carry garbage in some of the ships, with an enclosed storage area being created on each of the ships.
The plan was to make the ships fast and strong to deal with anything out at sea with Jones and his little Kraken army protecting the fleet.
Currently the Kraken were busy dealing with the mess underwater, cleaning up the hundreds and hundreds of cargo containers that were lost to the depths of the sea.
Everything was sent over to the space, but it was still quite a lot to gather in a short period of time and Jones had reported that there was far more waste in the sea than he'd imagined at first.
.
"Actually, brother… I was thinking of making some adjustments to the ships…
What do you think?"
Echo explained his thoughts on adding deep sea scanners and a revised Tractor Beam technology that came from information gathered from the Star Trek World.
It wasn't the only upgrade as some weapon systems and hidden compartments for special forces and spies to access but most of all would be the engines and compartments within.
The living areas provided to the crew would be increased and improved to have gaming systems and recreational sports onboard.
An enhanced Holodeck was also included where the device would use the powers of both the space and technology currently in its possession to allow it to form actual items that could be ingested.
For now, it would be restricted from granting the users too many options and functions but what it could offer was more than enough to occupy those working on the ship.
