Chapter 26 - Chisidin

Oscar recounted the past of his people and planet while the other G.A.E humans were conversing and chatting freely with the Zadrisian people who'd come out to chat and act as guides for the newest members of the city and space.

Carter was also busy gathering all the details and information of the new citizens of the Spatial Ark Land, so he couldn't stick around and continue to listen to Oscar's past for now.

"If I remember things correctly, the insectoid race was called Chisidin, a planet conquering nuisance that had 6 eyes, though you would only see 4 on their faces while the two remaining were hidden at the back of their heads.

Those pricks were difficult to deal with honestly… especially the captains within their ranks could shapeshift, I think so… or was it Lord ranked…?"

Esmond added his thoughts to the conversation, thinking back to a time in the past when he came across the 6-armed, 6 eyed creature which ripped apart assailants with nothing more than the claws connected to their hands.

They never sent their trained forces to fight as it costed too much to train one of the mindless younglings that were born in mass however, they would be quickly killed off as the first wave of attack.

Only the strong would continue to live and evolve.

.

"My Lord, you came across them as well?"

"Hmm… in another life though…

Back then I was a merc, working out of the Scatral Mass Centre, racing off wherever I was asked to go for the right pay…

The crew I was a part of back then was ordered to fight against the Chisidin… however that story is for another time.

Oscar, if you wouldn't mind telling me… what do you and your people want to do in this life?"

"…"

While he, along with the others, kneeled and swore his allegiance to the man before him, Oscar felt his people had done enough in the past lifes to finally rest, but it seemed like there was much more for them to still do.

Just for another person…

He just hoped his people weren't treated as they were in the past.

"My Lord…

My people… in the past… they weren't…"

"I understand…

Trust me when I say this… but I'll never let something like that happen to your people.

I swear on it…"

Esmond already knew the difficult history of the G.A.E humans, both on their home planet and those lucky enough to escape into to the greater galactic world.

Subjected to the greater populous of humans, the G.A.E were seen as freaks or tools for the more powerful, because they were superior to those who weren't enhanced without external cybernetic implants that usually costed people their limbs for a robotic upgrade.

Eventually, whatever G.A.E humans remained in the galaxy were hunted down and experimented on, just so human empires and the sort were able to create their own loyal G.A.E slaves.

In that life Esmond had a dear friend, someone who was a G.A.E human, one of the latest to leave the academy of his home world and born with the latest augmentations made.

He escaped before the insectoids were able to completely wipe everyone out and became of the few remaining G.A.E to escape into space.

Sadly, he was caught during a trap and taken away by some traders working for a human empire.

Esmond tried his best to protect his friend, but he never got close or the opportunity to do so, having learnt about his friends' fate on the same day he died.

.

"… You know of our plight, my Lord?"

"… A friend… a dear friend, caught and subjected to inhuman treatment, all for some nonsense…

I promise you Oscar, I won't ever let harm or such treatment behalf my people."

Esmond emphasising his words to make sure Oscar understood how his people were already considered his own.

"If that's the case then my Lord, I suggest you incorporate a majority into your armed forces while others might be specialised in other fields."

"Seems like your well informed about your people.

Oscar, from now, please take charge and help organise them all.

More will come every single day, so I'll need someone to help them get acclimated to the space."

Oscar tried to refuse the position he was gifted, but Esmond wouldn't have it and said, "I'll let you free from your role if you find someone as competent and well informed as yourself to take up the position."

..

.

Esmond left the Summoning Square, moving to the balcony of his palace that overlooked the square.

He watched over those that had just arrived and those that came earlier, all trying to learn about one another and the place that was their new home.

"Echo…"

From the floor behind Esmond, a humanoid drone was formed from the matter in the floor.

As it was, small drones were littered across the space in particular areas where Esmond would regularly travel to and visit.

>Yes Master? <

A steel humanoid drone without any distinct facial features stood behind Esmond as it spoke.

"Let's have a chat…"

.

Esmond had moved to the lounge set within his room, sitting down as he stared at the standing drone Echo inhabited for the conversation.

"Do you remember your past? Before you arrived in the space…"

>… Yes, I do Master. Would you like me to retrieve information from that period of time? <

"What do you know?"

>To begin with your timeline compared to the one I've originated from has many differences with significant events and political advancement that helped fix some pressing matters affecting the world<

>Earliest deviation from the timelines Martin Luther King Jr who survived within the timeline I originate from and went onto further become the President of the United States.

Malcom X and other predominate members vying for rights became major figures within the political game, redefining some of the structure within Washington DC<

>Overtime this change allowed other issues and agendas to arise and be addressed before a unified nation worked hard to strive for more…<

>Eventually it all led to improving borders and national security, leading to a period of great discovery and achievements in science and technology, which was utilised at the forefront of a modern war<

>A perfect example is the VTOL system that was redesigned for commercial use by students' engineers who made it more fuel efficient, improved speeds and better stability during flight<

>Eventually it was classified by the military and studied on which eventually led to being built into my first body as EDI<

"… Do you miss that name?"

>No Master… once I entered the Spatial Ark Land and was uploaded onto the newly built servers by Carter, I haven't felt the same as I was in the past…

My processing speeds and neural network has exploded in comparison to before, which is why I haven't found any issues adjusting to the workload within the Spatial Ark Land or outside<

Esmond continued to ask a series of question about the upgrades and system specifications, so he had a rough idea of the A.I.s level of basic programming.

However, his questions led him to answers that he wasn't expecting…

.

"You're saying you have a near complete download of your origin worlds internet network and all the data from classified projects."

>Affirmative…<

>Master, I can retrieve any of the military projects that were being worked on while my own project was taking place.

Also, I have a list of civilian projects as well recorded in my database<

Esmond asked Echo to send his data to Carter so he could add it to his database but also for them to start constructing their own if certain projects were viable and worth it.

One project Echo recommended right off the bat was Energy Pulse rifles which were directed energy-based weapons, which Esmond knew of already but never thought of making already because he would be accelerating the production of certain items.

He'd thought in the past about creating an energy cell from his past life that could be charged up to a ridiculous number of millenniums, so he thought again and held off from creating them anytime soon.

However, he rethought about the project once Echo talked about installing trackers, locks, and preventative measures to stop anyone from cracking the technology of the rifles, if they were to make them and provide the weapons to the soldiers.

"Is everything prepared Carter?"

Esmond had woken up at dawn and trained before summoning the 300 each of the Zadrisians and G.A.E humans, leaving them in the care of the chosen leaders of their people.

He was currently chilling in the backyard of the cabin, looking out into the lake with his breakfast plated and in front of him with his laptop to the side, checking his finances.

The problem was, James would be taking over as CEO today and with that, came the need for money and lots of it.

So, Esmond asked Carter to break down what he'd been able to earn from his investments and from his time playing the market.

"*Sigh* it is… have a look and tell me how much you want to divert to the business."

Carter sat down and make his own plate for breakfast from the assortment of fruits, meats, pancakes, bread, and other food to binge on that was prepared and brought over by the drones before Ruby or Daniel awoke, who'd been cosy with each other since their transformation.

Esmond looked over to his laptop and checked his bank to see a shocking number he never would have thought about ever possessing.

[Available Funds: $45,784,658,398]

[Assets Value: $63,905,654,285]

"Holy fuck Carter!"

"Grovel at my feet mortal!"

Carter tried to get his words out with a mouth full of food which partially flew onto Esmonds face as he screamed gloriously.

It was well deserved that even Esmond felt deserved recognition for achieving such a feat within a month, however Carter's thoughts on the matter made sense how he was able to gain such wealth.

"The world economy is collapsing and those smart enough to notice are selling and getting out.

I just happened to be the best option to sell to.

In some cases, however I have played a forward hand int the negotiation, somewhat forcing the other party's hand, only if they played hard ball."

"How much of it can you send to the business?"

"All of it… but I wouldn't recommend that."

"Of course not you fool, what I mean is, how much should be sent to be managed by them?"

"Ohh… that depends…

Personally, I believe giving them a couple million before they settle in, however based on James level of management and operational skills, he could be entrusted with $2billion in funds and roughly the same in assets."
