Chapter 44 Fight Me!

(General P.O.V)

(Barry)

The flash shot off without a second thought. He knew time was of the essence as he could see the dawning calamity about to hit the city he loved. He wasn't going to let that happen. Chasing after the reverse flash would have to come later. Right now he was needed somewhere.

Buildings passed by in his sight as he entered flash time to think. The tsunami in his eyes seemed frozen in his eyes as he took the first step onto the ocean. He'd done the calculations and his speed was just fast enough to run on water. He wasn't sure he was fast enough to do what he had in mind though.

His steps were strong yet light. His breathing controlled and his focus razor sharp. Despite the urgency of the situation - he felt alive!

Once he was close enough, the Flash was actually surprised at the size of the thing. It must have taken a bomb of numerous kilotons to cause such a huge tsunami! He wasn't worried however. Cautious yes but not worried. He had faith in his new speed. To prove to himself how far he'd actually come he decided to not deactivate the gravi-bands on his wrist.

The Flash started running back and forth along the Tsunami. He was trying to create a vortex barrier along the coastline. The wall of wind produced would hopefully contain the energy of the Tsunami before it hit the city.

Despite how fast he was going, the Flash had miscalculated just how ferocious the Tsunami was. He channelled more and more speed force energy to run even faster and before he knew it he instantly found himself in the city!

"What happened?"

He looked around frantically. It was currently during the day while seconds ago it was evening. He looked out into the shoreline and didn't see the tsunami. He didn't understand what was going but he knew where he would hopefully find his answers. He flashed away towards the Star Labs.

(Thawne)

Thawne was preparing to inject Barry with the serum he had created when a prompt appeared on his screen. There was a blinking dot of red flashing before it started heading towards the Star Labs. He looked away from the map and towards Barry who was lying inside the machine.

"Well well well, seems like our dear old Flash managed to finally time travel."

He whispered to himself.

"Not only that, but I can still detect the nanites in his bloodstream. The plan worked out successfully, Allen must have travelled back in time while trying to stop the Tsunami ended for the city. I had to adjust the charges to accommodate for his speed and he would have managed to stop it if he'd deactivated his gravi-bands. Which he didn't. Now then, he's most likely going to be there during our fight to stop me from pressing the detonator I'm sure. I already got what I wanted but maybe this is the perfect distraction I need."

The image in the screen changed to show Caitlin in a lab. One that wasn't part of Star Labs.

"I believe it's time we had our conversation, Caitlin. It's long overdue."

( Some hours later)

Barry was hidden from view as he watched the reverse flash battle his past self. The past few hours since he'd travelled back to the past were simply crazy. He had been disoriented with this huge deja-vu feeling. He'd tried to talk to Iris about not publishing the Flash's stories again as the flash but that talk had ended up bad. Iris was just too stubborn. He had decided to avoid going to Dr.Wells personal lab because that was where he knew his past self was so he'd taken the chance to try and talk to Cisco about time traveling without revealing he was from the future.

They'd come to the same conclusions that Barry had speculated. He couldn't risk meeting with his past self because any changes he did might create a time-line that could have disastrous outcomes. Barry needed to only stop the Tsunami and nothing else. He had no way to know if his presence wasn't distorting the time-line in the first place. So here he was hiding from himself and his opponent.

He had to let the reverse flash press the detonator and then after his past self disappeared into the past he would take over and try to stop the Tsunami before going after his opponent. That would hopefully minimize the ripples caused to the time-line.

There! Barry readied himself. The Reverse Flash had pressed the detonator and a rumble went through the whole city. A huge wall of water was headed straight for them. His past self hesitated for a little before running towards the coastline of the city, no doubt to stop the incoming catastrophe.

After his disappearance, Barry readied himself to attack the Reverse Flash before he was tackled to the ground and his hands held behind him.

"Who?"

The hold tightened and he groaned ready to deactivate his gravi-bands.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you."

Barry had an incredulous look on his face. His opponent turned to look at him.

"You knew I was here the whole time? How?"

The Reverse Flash laughed as he walked forward to stop before the fastest man alive.

"There's so much you don't know about being a speedster Barry."

He knew his name?

"Don't act so surprised. I've always been many steps ahead of you and your merry band of do-gooders. Which is how I know you're from the future. Now I'm going to give you a choice. Attack me out of anger or help your past self to stop that thing."

He motioned behind him. It wasn't really a choice. The body holding him down let go and he stood up to an even greater surprise. There were two of them. 2 Reverse Flashs.

"Tick tock."

Barry gritted his teeth and for just a second, contemplated breaking his enemies teeth in.

"This is not over."

He turned back and ran off. His thoughts troubled.

Thawne's speed construct disappeared and he went down on a knee breathing in deeply.

"That's the most I can do right now."

He brought up a hologram from his watch and made sure that Caitlin was still alone in her lab. He smiled a creepy smile then took off too.

( Jin's P.O.V)

I breathed in the air of the city as I flew up to hover above it. I was back. After so long I was finally back. It really hit home to me that I'd grown fond of Central City and in some way considered it my home. I had relationship with people here like the Star labs team and even Amunet, despite our relationship's fucked up nature.

Which is why I couldn't let Thawne destroy it. I had to put him down, a little because of the well-being of the city's residents but mostly because i wanted revenge.

I spread out my water sense to get a general feeling of things. I filtered out the excess information and honed in on the bright flashing lights happening near the buildings at the shore-line.

The Flash and Thawne were going at it and I was a little astonished at their speeds. They had both improved immensely. I almost joined in on the fun when I detected another Flash watching a ways off from the side.

"That means Barry is the one responsible for the temporal anomaly. He must be from the future."

I said to myself while electing to settle down and just watch. Not only were they fast but every blow that they threw out left dents on the walls of the buildings when they failed to land. What the fuck had happened while I was gone?!

I had confidence in my strength. Not to mention with the armor on, I was looking at 50 tonnes in strength alone. If things got awry I had my rune knowledge to fall back to, so it didn't matter how powerful the two speedsters had gotten. I would win any confrontation.

Streaks of gray lightning clad Thawne's form briefly which made me raise an eye-brow. That's new. He revealed a detonator in the palm of his hand and I frowned in worry. That couldn't be anything good. It seems both Barry's felt the same way too, as they readied themselves.

I felt it before any of them...a churning deep in the water unlike anything I'd ever felt before. Then the water rose up in a huge wave due to the bomb that had exploded in its depths.

"Thawne."

I bit out the name in anger. That fucking...argh. I moved to disperse the wave before stopping myself. Maybe this was why Barry had travelled back in time.

That incident had to happen because 2 Barry's existing at the same time couldn't be anything good. I sighed as I watched. Barry 1 flashed away towards the ocean before the other one came out and tried to attack Thawne. I had already detected Thawne's speed force clone construct as it tackled Barry 2 to the ground.

They had a brief talk before Barry run towards the ocean to make sure that he could intervene to stop the Tsunami after his past self fucked off into the past. Everything was just so frustrating! I didn't like standing off in the sidelines like that. Sure enough once Barry's past self disappeared into the past I flew after the present Barry and with one gesture the Tsunami dispersed and the ocean calmed down.

The flash looked around surprised at the impromptu disappearance of the huge wave of water before running towards the shoreline. I floated and touched down behibd him on the ground.

He whirled around fast and his eyes widened in recognition at my face. A mixture of anger and determination appeared on his face.

"You."

"Hello Flash. Or should I say Barry Allen. We need to talk."

"No. No talking. You're coming with me."

He shook his head.

I was surprised at his stubbornness.

"I am not your enemy. I have spared your life more than once. Otherwise if I had any animosity towards you, trust me, you wouldn't be here."

I could see he wasn't going to back down. His whole being was screaming, 'Fight Me.'

"Ok. Let me see just how much you've improved."
