Chapter 18 - Blindsided

I pulled all the air from the security guard and suffocated him to unconsciousness.

"Sorry about that Bradley. Right place at the wrong time."

I said after reading his name tag. I connected with my water clone who was surrounded by the other security guards in the security room and dispelled him. Oh yeah, I can do the water clone by the way.

I only had 10 minutes before the next call up from the patrol guards came, to get what I need. Ok elevator or stairs? I took the stairs. Mercury labs was huge. They had different departments and science divisions. So it was easy to get lost if you didn't know where to go. I had gotten the information on the layout of the place from one of the scientists after a session of convincing conversation. Just because it included threat of electrocution doesn't mean it wasn't effective. So I was prepared.

I quickly got to the 6th floor and swiped Bradley's badge to gain access. The doors to the floor opened up with a click and I proceeded. A minute later I was before the room I was looking for and allowed a smirk to appear on my face.

"That was easy."

And it honestly had been. Normal people are just not equipped to dealing with metas and the police department were already finding that out painfully.

I swiped the badge but nothing happened. After trying three more times, I got annoyed and stopped. It seemed like Bradley wasn't cleared to access this particular room.

"There's a lesson to be learned here Jin. Don't count your chicks before they hatch."

I drew back my hand and jerked it forward. A point blank shockwave shot out and impacted the thick double doors and blasted them in and away.

Suddenly the alarm started blaring and I groaned.

"Fuck. Well no helping it now. The cops are gonna be here any minute and I'd rather not debut myself today."

I looked at the black glove on my left hand and smiled in appreciation of my genius. This bad boy was the first field worthy gadget I had made. It was still a prototype but more than sufficient for what I needed it to do.

My pocket dimension plan was not my top priority but messing around with gravitons had allowed me to construct a discount one. It hadn't been even hard. All I had done was curve the space inside the glove and stretch it out to roughly a room's size. It was what I was going to use to store the machinery and other equipments I needed. Unfortunately it was a one time use thing because the battery in it was not strong enough. And to think that I had an abundance of energy inside me that I couldn't use. Even with that it was a pretty cool invention.

I pressed a button on my palm and with a whirling sound a green light shot out, scanning the equipment. There was barely a sound as I emptied the room of it's essentials. Success. Now I had what I needed to start my plans. It had been long overdue.

"Freeze!"

A voice said from the open space that had once been occupied by the door that lay in shambles at my feet.

I had of course felt the guards coming my way through my water sense. A walking bag of liquid in the shape of a man was hard to miss for me after all.

"Okay. If that's what you want."

The temperature around him lowered drastically and ice started forming on his body.

"Ugh…"

With a wave of my hand I threw him to the wall of the hallway. He slid down in unconsciousness as the ice broke off. I didn't want to kill him of course.

A multitude of steps came up the stairway and more guards poured out into the hallway. They saw the state of their friend and instantly started shooting. An ice shield formed on my hand, blocking the projectiles while I fired of a blast of wind, enough to knock them away.

I shot a shockwave from my feet and with inhuman speed appeared before the ones who were quick enough to get up. The first guy raised his gun to shoot at me but I grabbled hold of it and froze it. I hit his elbow and wrenched the now useless metal off of his hand before throwing a palm strike to his solar plexus.

He went down wheezing and I dodged a knife slash from a thin man. He started stabbing at me with expert skill but a timely slip from the icey floor made him overreach his strike. I didn't waste time to hit his neck and knock him out.

"We need back up!"

One of the men at the back shouted on his radio. It was time to go. I knocked the pistol away from the third guy and kicked out. He folded like a lawn chair and took the fourth guy behind him out too.

The hallway was now a tangle of limp bodies and groaning sounds. The last guy started scrambling away desperately but I formed a cyclone of wind underneath him, throwing him to the ceiling. The Impact also knocked him out and he landed on the floor in a heap.

I took a minute to appreciate how my practice was paying off. It was good to know that I hadnt been wasting time learning mixed martial arts. I breathed out and started to make my way down the stairs when I stopped. Something fast was coming towards me. I could feel the vibrations and displacement of water molecules through the air as an object going at sub-sonic speed headed directly towards Mercury labs. My face hardened. It must be Thawne. Fuck!

I couldn't fight him at closed quarters like this because my mobility would be greatly restricted. I looked around me and saw a window on my immediate left. I blasted through it and flew a distance away from the building as a streak of yellow lightning made its way inside.

A second later he came out and started looking around. Meanwhile my mouth was open in surprise. Barry's awake?…Had I been so caught up in my plans I hadn't even known that? Caitlin should have informed me at least. I slapped my head in realization. I had been ignoring them due to my dear of Eobard, using them to threaten me. He knew I was good friends with Caitlin and that man would go to any lengths to achieve his goals. Blindsided through my own fault.

I absentmindedly floated nearer to him. Barry saw me and jump/sped away further. I touched down and we stared at each other for a second. Barry brought his fingers to his left ear and started talking.

"Guys, I think we found the one responsible for the break in. Yeah he's a meta. I'm sending you the visual."

I was waiting calmly. Interested to see what team flash would ultimately decide to do. A wary look appeared on Barry's face after listening to his earpiece.

"No I can handle this."

After saying that he turned it off and readied himself.

"You're Drakon, aren't you?"

I rose my eyebrows in surprise. Not that he could have seen it under the hockey mask.

"Didn't know I was famous. I mostly try to keep my dealings…private."

"The CCPD are aware of your crimes, already. Not to mention your break in to Mercury labs. Come with me quietly and I can help you"

How did they…oh Informants. Any accomplished detective had their own street Informants. That must be how he knows of me. His previous conversation must have been with Wells and the others warning him to fall back because of my reputation.

I mean, I took down a whole crime family, someone from Amunet's side could have talked. So they must be aware that I'm dangerous.

"Come with you? To where?"

I asked. He rose his hands up in a placating motion and started walking slowly towards me.

"I know that some months back something happened to you and you changed. You found yourself with unexplainable abilities and got scared. And that fear probably led to you making some bad decisions…"

I couldn't help it. I started laughing.

"God! Are you serious? You thought that just talking to me is enough to make me change my ways or something? There's a limit to being naive."

I sighed and straightened up.

"You're fast. I fought someone just as fast as you a while back only he had red lightning. Any relation? Please say yes coz I really need to unwind…"

I could see his eyes widen underneath his mask.

"Who was he!? Tell me!"

He started shouting.

I jumped up and floated in the air. This was going to be fun. Let's see just how fast early canon flash is with enough motivation.

"You'll have to catch me first."

And with that I shot off down the street.

I zoomed past the cop cars coming our way and looked back to see the flash gaining on me and fast. I sharpened my wind armor at the front and let loose a large shockwave from my feet, instantly shooting off at an even higher speed. I weaved past buildings, ducked under Bridges and even dodged a news helicopter that was flying too low for its own good.

The flash didn't let me escape however. No matter how fast I was going he was matching my speed. I could even see streaks of yellow lightning growing in number while cladding his form. I. Want. That! This was the fastest I had ever gone and just imagining what it would be like flying while applying the speed force was enough to leave me giddy.

I laughed in joy and excitement and shot off towards The ocean.

I reached the shore and stopped. The flash came to a halt below me and without talking started to swing both his arms at me. 2 twin blasts of air flew at me, before with a wave of my hand I dispelled them. Now that's interesting. It was too early for him to learn that ability. It must be because of the butterfly effect. What else could he do?

I laughed in amusement.

"Bad idea to use a wind attack on someone who can control it. Let me show you how vast the difference between us is."

A wave of my hand and I sent off a great gust of wind at him. He narrowly dodged because of how huge the attack was. Sand sprung up from around us, carried by the air. I started pelting him with the grains but another blur and he was standing far away. He's too fast. However let me show him why specializing is a bad idea.

"No matter how fast you can run…without traction you're useless. Disadvantages of being a one trick pony."

I commanded the wind to lift him off the ground.

"What the…"

He thrashed around futilely. He tried the air twister attack again but I negated the wind surrounding him.

He didn't have anymore tricks up his sleeve so I mercilessly slammed him to the ground and with a grunt of pain he fainted. What a glass canon. I had learned all I could from him anyway and he still had time to grow in strength enough to pose a worthwhile challenge. But by then I would be ten, no a hundred times even stronger.

I took off and flew to my mansion, there was a lot that needed to be done. Soon, few would pose a danger to me.
