Mount of Forgetfulness was covered in snow all year long. The thick ice layer that resulted from alternating snowfall and rainfall on top of the mountain was very slippery and thus posed a challenge to the most proficient mount climber.
Practically no one ever made the efforts to climb to the top, so no one knew what lied on top of the mountain. The nearby villagers knew the mountain by name, but no one was sure about the origin of its name.
Some people said that it was called that way because the original name had been forgotten as time passed.
Some more people claimed that those who climbed the mountain never came back and thus were gradually forgotten.
