The group of bandits did not come from a foreign land and just happened to occupy the ten villages in the eastern area of the Hong Kingdom. In fact, most of the members came from the villages. They were all those who were poor enough that if they had stayed in their villages and continued living honorably, they would end up dying honorably. Eventually some of them wondered, was life not better than death? What was the merit of leading an exemplary but miserable life?
It started with one man who experienced too many unfortunate events in a very short period of time. First, he broke his leg while hunting. The leg became badly infected so he was stuck at home doing nothing and had to rely on his wife to make a living. The wife worked hard to earn money for her family, consisting of one husband and three small children.
