As the kids ran into the school, a few parents came in as well. There was Gabriel with his daughter Eve, Quason with his son Isobu, Ben with his daughter Orchid and his son Rey, and Harris walked in with his second son Anji. Suzaku ran over to greet his dad, happy to see him and his brother. He also asked about his other father Seikaku.
"Sorry, he'll be a couple minutes late. He'll be here, trust me."
Harris reassured him. Suzaku knew his second father was late sometimes, but he showed up. The students went into class, and the teacher came into the class inside of a whirlwind of sand. He seemed to be a pharaoh of some kind.
"Hello students and parents. Today we'll be going on a field trip to the Mazoku Lands. Primarily the…more wild side. No one will be harmed of course, and those that are will be treated by me." he said readying a transport spell that took the form of a large worm-like creature. He noticed Seikaku run inside the building, and secretly gestured to him for Suzaku, who went to go hug him tightly.
After about an hour, everyone got on the transport worm and flew high into the sky at a rapid speed. The worm kept them in place with sand that acted like seat belts, and had a barrier of air around it so no one would lose oxygen at the high altitude. One of the students, Isobu, yawned at he looked down at the ground below.
"They look like ants running towards something important. Never really liked ants but then again they're important for a healthy ecosystem. Also they're basically the best army on earth. Or in it I should say."
Isobu muttered to himself, not caring who heard. He was always the laid back kid, going with the flow and helping when needed. Eve was sitting behind him letting pollen blow through her fingers like a balloon, before letting it go and watching the pollen form bubbles in the sky that slowly float down. Rey was drawing a laser sword for himself in his notebook and admired how realistic it looked. He then drew other things around it like throwing stars, a space ship, and robotic parts. His sister just rolled her eyes at how nerdy her little brother was being, but saw that there was one extra student who was making a sort of mischievous face behind Suzaku. She only knew his name, Ronin. He was about the same height as everyone, about the size of an 18 year old male, and had long pink hair with fox ears pointing backwards. He also had a sort of shrine maiden outfit and a very feminine like body despite being a boy, and had fox-like arms and legs, and a single fox tail. His eyes were bright blue and had slit pupils that seemed to track the smallest movement. Orchid was always confused by him as she never really seen him use his powers, fight, or do much of anything besides look at Suzaku and spin his paper fan around sometimes. Meanwhile Ronin kept looking ahead, seemingly cooking up a plan.
After about an hour and thirty minutes, they made it to the Land of Mazoku, and saw that it seemed to be an endless star filled night there. Anji looked in the trees for fruit to snack on, but saw they were in the process of growing and weren't ripe yet.
"Now children. Remember that this is still unknown territory, and we shouldn't just wander too far. We'll be going to see the Elder of the land and everyone needs to be on their best behavior, understood? And be careful what you pick, make sure it's ripe first."
The teacher said as he began to walk with the students. Harris looks around while walking, reminding himself of when he was training there for almost 50 years in spiritual time. He went through absolute hell to become a demonic god, but it was well worth it. As everyone walked, they noticed the many Mazoku come and go around the forest, some stopped for a moment to watch everyone before they left. Ben's wife Tasha looked around, remembering her childhood playing around and messing with her plants all day long. Then she saw the old house of Koradel and Rey, the Mazoku she named her son after. After the whole fight with Reaquiem, the two boys decided to travel the world one day at a time, but regularly visit when the time comes.
Eve was eating a fruit that seemed like a purple banana, but it was sweet and crunchy like an apple on the inside. It reminded her of the spirit of Adam and Eve, and how Adam always had an apple with him. She loved talking to them as a kid because she was a child of faith in humanity, and saw God as a second father figure. Through Adam she learned to fight, and through Eve she learned to heal fatal wounds in a fast time span. Gabriel knew of this and thought it was educational for her to learn from powerful beings. She also had a small crush on Isobu, but didn't feel like it was the right time to tell him.
As everyone followed the path, they started to see a large serpent like figure appear, coiled up multiple times, and his eyes were large and seemed to be watching them. The teacher stopped when he got in front of him and bowed down to the massive serpent. Everyone else looked in shock at how large he was, and wondered how could a monster be as large as a giant.
"Great prince, you need not use illusions to hide yourself in such a form. Please show us your true self."
The teacher calmly said as the illusion of a massive snake started to vanish and show it was a boy with a human upper half, and a snake-like torso. He seemed to be in a foul mood now that his intimidating form was easily found out and tried hitting the teacher, but went right through him as his body was made entirely of sand. The king, who was a dragon, stepped over to stop him from trying again.
"Ah. Imhotep my old friend. I haven't seen you since…hmmm..since the war began. I take it these are your students, the Kamui Class. Welcome all of you. I assume you wish to know the origin of your powers?"
Everyone looked at him surprised that he figured it out with no one telling him anything. He smiled and showed a holographic image made of light of what seemed to be a shinto temple.
"As you may have known, magick has been something man could never fully explain or comprehend to the fullest extent. It comes in many different forms. Ceremonial, blood, nature, astral, in old times it was thought to be a gift of God, or even a curse of the Devil. Some never believed, others denied it's existence. But sometimes fate despises denial, and thus here we are. The nature of your powers in particular, are of an Asian sort. You're familiar with the Kami of Japanese mythology?" everyone nodded in response. "Well their powers are almost the same as every other god. In Ainu mythology, the name Kamui refers to their gods and goddesses. But written a different way it could also mean Authority. So in a sense your powers are a godly authority over a certain thing. Not exactly the simplest explanation but it got there." the king giggled a bit, while everyone else looked at him with a bored expression on their face. Suzaku however looked at the back of his hand, and saw it to be a magick circle. But wasn't at all sure why. He wasn't born into Harris's family, he was adopted. He didn't hate the fact he was, in fact he was more confused as to why he was chosen, and what did it mean for him that he was given friends he could share a specialty with. But he stopped thinking about that and more about what his symbol meant. He could already use magick, and didn't have much trouble learning more, so what did this Kamui symbolize? His ability with magick itself, or a certain type he's better with than others. He was sure he'd find out as time went by.
After they finished in the land of Mazoku, everyone headed back to the city, and back into the school on time for lunch. It seemed like a good day so far, and the parents were talking with Imhotep about corny jokes they used to tell.
