The two suns hanging aloofly in the sky shone down their murderous heat on the ground, along with bright light.
Their heat reached every corner of the planet's side in front of them.
Standing under this torturous attack, with metal walls adorning both the sides of the long road connecting the city and the village.
Soldier Fato stood with his teeth gritted against each other. His military uniform, stretched tight from his chubby belly, was drenched in sweat.
A literal pool of sweat piled around his feet. His hand waved the fan endlessly to no avail.
"I wonder whether he'll come today or not?" He raised his palm and wiped his face from the thick layer of sweat... which sadly reappeared almost immediately.
Just as his head began to spin and he felt his legs go weak. He appeared in his sight.
From the hazy distance, his eyes couldn't quite see clearly, he peered at the edge of the road in his sight.
A tiny sillouthes slowly and leisurely treaded over, growing somewhat larger in the process but not too much.
He looked to be around 9 to 10 years old. His looks could kill, even though he was a kid, with his fluffy dark violet hair neatly trimmed into a decent and clean look and his light purple eyes which shone with more hope than the blinding stars, no adult wouldn't dare say she didn't want to be a pedophile.
Ahem!
Seeing him calmly approaching, Fato felt as if his grand journey had finally reached a close.
But despite everything, he still stood unmoved and unhindered, waiting for the boy to come closer. But the small smirk, flickering on his face could hardly be missed.
The boy stopped in front of Fato, his cheeky and childish demeanour vanishing immediately as he did a formal military salute and shouted aloud, "Soldier Fato! Cyril Asmit at your service. I am proud you stood brave and didn't falter despite the hardship but now, please rest assured and relax. Leave the rest to me, I have brought some snacks for you, please help yourself!"
"Aw! Dear Cyril, I really wondered if you would come today. But now my heart is at ease. Yes, go ahead, train to your heart's content." Flashing a big wide smile, Fato collapsed in his pool of sweat and grabbed the shopper from Cyril's hands.
"Yes Fatty-I mean Soldier Fato. I will most certainly guard this post with my life!" With a posture spitting strictness and seriousness, Cyril walked some distance and stood guard against the wall.
Thankfully... nobody passed by this road much, the walls were just went to keep the animals and the few alien species inside for forever.
While munching, Fato licked his sweaty lips mixed with potato crumps and glanced towards Cyril, "Trainer Cyril, you do know that the forest is experiencing some strange phenomenon recently, right? It's going to be quite dangerous from now on. Are you sure you shouldn't be waiting for things to calm down before resuming your training? I know it's your goal to become someone like your father, but I don't think you need to put yourself in so much danger, when you're, despite everything, a kid!"
Cyril's stern, light purple eyes flickered as they pierced towards Fato, "I can never be like my father if I run away from such cowardly dangers."
Fato's eyes trembled as he sized up Cyril, he couldn't help but mutter, "So young, yet so bold! Indeed, he has the blood of a high official."
Fato shook his head and popped the can of juice, 'Though I can never be like him, no matter what!'
Gulp! Gulp!
As the juice slipped past his throat, his eyelids began to feel heavy.
Yawn!
"Rest well, Soldier Fato!" A caring voice drifted into Fato's ears. Before he collapsed in his sweat with a gentle thud.
The air turned silent.
Only Cyril remained standing with his one eye shifted towards Fato.
His lips trembled as a myraid of emotions piled up inside him.
"Hah__HEEHAHAHAHAHHA!! FINALLY, YET ANOTHER ADVENTURE IS ABOUT TO BEGIN!"
The air froze for a moment.
Before...
"Ahem! Ahem! Soldier Fato, you're asleep, right?" Cyril cautiously made his way towards Fato, hearing his loud snores and sealed eyes, his heart finally rested in ease.
"Tch! I truly don't know whether to pity you or what? Though I am afraid that if I started pitying you, fate, my old admirer and new stalker would feel pity as well and shift your life upside down. Sigh! O Cyril, why must you be so adorned by everything? Look! The day hasn't set for so long just so that it can gaze at you in peace."
Shaking his aloof head, he started walking towards the middle of the street and glanced down at the sewerage cover.
He pressed his feet on a specific place and it slid back, revealing an underground passage.
It was neigh impossible for somebody to imagine something like this and here of all places, you shouldn't even speak of building it. But who was he?
The one adorned by the skies!
He used his father's money to buy various instruments which helped him to build this place.
And after cooking some bullshit story about his father being a general, which he actually is, and him wanting to be like his father but can't due to his trash ability, which is actually true, he moved the fatty and after that, he just had to feed him sleeping pills mixed with snacks and tell him to relax while he trained to stand guard.
Pfft! The poor guy actually bought everything he fed him. Well, he did respect him some bit, well maybe quite a bit.
Fato's only family, his sister, was suffering from a type of disease whose cure hadn't been found yet. The most the doctors could do is delay the inevitable and allow her to live some more. But even that treatment costed a fortune.
The guy awakened the most ridiculous of abilities to boot, he can... secrete more sweat than normal human.
Hence why he always had a pool of sweat under his feet.
'He must've been bullied a lot, I can tell from experience.' Cyril shook his head bitterly.
Sighing heavily, gracing the unworthy air to poke inside his mouth, he went down through the stairs and started scurrying his hands left and right.
Feeling the rough wall touch his fingers, his panic-stricken heart calmed down.
He could swear the darkness here made one feel like that they had traveled into an abyss.
Shaking his head, he started to walk forward.
After some torturous minutes, his head collided against a dead-end.
"Ouch! Dam__ No, no! I can't curse the wall, otherwise the sky will mock the ground for infinity. Tch! Being too handsome has its own cons! And for one like me, who cause the sun to appear in the night on one call and the sky to tilt for my amusement... I truly do need to watch my words."
Shaking his head, he searched the wall for a handle and the moment he found it, he pushed it down.
Like hope shinning dazzlingly in the midst of despair, light rushed forth and cuddled him like a caring mother.
The fresh smell of flora, carrying many strange and unique scents, wafted into his nose.
The birds' merry chripping, some distant but dangerous howls, all rushed to his ears, greeting him back into his adventure land.
His shut eyes shot open and the scenery drilled inside his eyes with joy.
"I am back! Now, my stalker, fate, I hope you don't shy away like the last 172 times and fail to deliver my gift."
He nodded his head with utmost seriousness and stepped forward.
Thud!
"The taste of dirt... Ahem ahem! WHICH FOOL CAUSED ME TO TRIP, HUH?" Just as he was about to jump to his feet, his vision fell on the dazzlingly golden light erupting from the ground in front of him.
"That's__" His vision shook as he shakily crawled over and started digging the ground.
He didn't had to dig much before the source of the light appeared in his sight.
It was a small, oval seed, barely the size of his pinky.
"This is... my ability!"
Yep, this was the useless seed he happened to awake in this world... Yep, useless, he had it since he was 6 years old, when it appeared, I
he didn't know crap shit what to do with it.
He tried hurling it at people, planting it and watering it, heck shoving it in his nose.
What did he not do?
But nothing, for 3 years, it did nothing, it was only recently during his last visit to the forest that this started to happen. The seed... started to glow like this.
At first it was for a few seconds, he even thought he was hallucinating the first few times, then a few minutes, the last time it glowed for nearly an hour!
Welp... it doesn't really do anything else.
He closed his palm, causing the seed to get sucked inside him. This was the only thing he could do with it, honestly.
Hs closed his eyes and imagined the seed.
He could see that in pitch black darkness, the seed continued to radiate like a divine entity.
'Hehe! Well, I am glowing from the inside literally, aren't I? Well, what else would fit a divine other than to glow like a divine? No?'
"Hahaha!" He jumped to his feet and dusted hid clothes.
Gazing at the sunlight peeking through the large trees and the shadows of the trees casting cool shades on the ground.
The place felt heavenly. These trees were actually magical, they wafted off cool breezes which alleviated the forest's temperature to a fresh degree.
He couldn't help but take another deep breath.
'Mhm! Delicious. I could enjoy some more of this everyday.'
"CAW! KEE!! REE!!!"
His eyes flickered into the sky in response to the mayhem the birds had started with their furious flapping of wings and the roars of the animals treading the land.
"What is ha__"
His eyes shot open as he felt the ground beneath his feet began to quake.
"A-an earth-earthquake!!!"
