Chapter 28 - 25~You will pay for it, Ethan

I take a step back and look down instantly, unable to hold his searching gaze:

"Don't look at me like that." - I whisper in a faint voice, so much that I'm not even sure he's listening to me, while I regret not having connected my mouth to my brain.

«Today you won't eat that crap.» - after a couple of seconds his hoarse tone makes me lift my head up again to meet his eyes too blue to support them.

I frown and mentally thank him for changing the subject, even if his voice is always so damned authoritarian that it seems to have my father in front of me.

« I'll cook tonight.» - I raise an eyebrow when I realize what he says, only now understanding why I found him in the kitchen as soon as I got home.

I move my eyes to the pan next to him, noticing the sauce boiling, releasing a scent that I notice only now:

"You can cook?" - I cross my arms over my chest, but even if I could afford to eat spaghetti, I would certainly be fasting tonight, not being able to trust Ethan and his reduced sympathy for me.

«Don't underestimate me, princess.» - he says with a serious grimace, while my expression goes from amused to annoyed.

Princess!

'I'm not Meredith!' - I would like to scream at him not caring of being heard by my friend behind me, but I decide to hold back my aggression and take another step back to get away from him.

I have to stop giving him so much importance and I don't have to spend half a second of my life talking to him, but just as I turn my heels and get closer to the others, he doesn't give me the time to turn my back on him as he reaches out to my head, slipping his fingers between my curls at the nape of my neck.

I frown, resuming looking him in the eyes confused, but I understand his intentions only when he draws me towards him with his hand in my hair, forcing me to take two steps forward, as he brings my head to his chest:

"What ...?" -I try to ask but he doesn't give me the way to finish asking that he brings a spoon stained with tomato sauce to my lips:

«Try it.» - he says with a defiant tone, raising his eyes to the sky, while I try to pretend indifferent to his fingers that caress, not for the first time, my neck.

I satisfy him regardless of the desire to get away from there, but before I can put my lips on the spoon, he brings his mouth close to the cutlery, already two millimeters from my lips, starting to blow on the sauce without taking my eyes off, and it blows so slowly that a trail of chills cross my back as the warm breath that leaves his red mouth collides with my lips.

I don't know why I can't help but keep up with his game, continuing to watch him as I decide to wrap my lips around the tip of the cold metal, not knowing whether to cheer for the flavor of the sauce or get excited about the way Ethan admires me right now, as he stares at my lips.

I completely forget that I'm not alone with him in the house, even though the volume on the television is so loud that I don't think we've caught their attention, but I'm so distracted by Ethan's hand holding my locks in his fingers that I can't think about other things than the taste his mouth must have at this moment.

I move my eyes several times from his mouth to his concentrated pupils, unable to control my gestures as I slowly rise on tiptoe to kiss him without thinking twice, but as soon as the tip of my nose touches his stiff cheekbone he forces me to open my eyes:

"So?" - he asks with an amused tone, making me open my eyes suddenly when I realize what I was about to do.

"I've tried better!" - I hasten to reply with an almost alarmed tone, taking a step back again, and then resume breathing hard, in front of his cheerful gaze, while he nods to my expression, shamelessly making fun of me , which makes me nervous worse than before, so I try to hide the embarrassment and, as soon as he takes a step in my direction, I raise my arm in the air, exclaiming the first nonsense that comes to mind:

«Get away! You stink of sweat! »- while he continues to advance I hold a hand between his pectorals, pissed at myself for having made myself humiliated ... again, but instead of being offended, he broadens his smile and pushes against my thin fingers to get closer again.

"Do you want to hear it better?" - he asks in a tone that scares me, but I don't have time to escape as he blocks me with an arm between his body and the kitchen island, and then raises the biceps of his right arm up and show the armpit covered by the short sleeves of the shirt he is wearing.

I lower my eyebrows, moving my eyes between his smile and his armpit to understand what he plans to do, but my eyes widen as he slips his fingers of his free hand back through my hair and pulls my head to his armpit.

"Bastard! I'll kill you! "- I scream with a strangled voice with my nose pressed against the pit of his armpit, but instead of being distracted by his cursed perfume and the hoarse sound of his light laugh, I bring a hand to his back to sink my nails with the intention of removing it.

"Let go of me!" - I squirm when I realize that my gesture does nothing but amuse him even more and push him to draw my head again against his body, while my curls spread over his chest in a disordered way:

"Do I still smell of sweat, Valerie?" - he asks overwhelmingly as soon as he stops laughing, but before I can try to kick him at the crotch of his jeans, I feel myself grabbed by the hips and dragged back a couple of steps.

My expression changes from surprise to infuriated when I realize it was Ian who separated us and saved me.

I burn with my eyes Ethan, who, before looking at me, glances quickly at the friend behind me.

"You will pay for it, Ethan." - I suddenly snap when he resumes looking at me satisfied, but as soon as I take steps in his furious direction, I am again puffed by Ian, who grabs my arm before I can escape, to then roll his eyes.

"You two are incredible." - the cold tone of the man by my side forces me to raise my head in his shooting direction, perplexed by the way he looks at me, but at the same time understanding his words:

"I feel like I have to deal with two children every day." - he mumbles in a low voice, but while Ethan doesn't care about his words, I get so offended that I cross my arms over my chest, even if, before I can argue, he urges me to follow him into the living room with ice cream in my hand.

I grit my teeth for not being able to teach the bastard a good lesson and leaving a couple of meters away from me, but before I walk away from the kitchen and follow Ian's advice, I give him a murderous look again, to which he replies with a wink to make me even more nervous, so much that I squeeze the box between my fingers and promise myself not to satisfy him by eating what he is cooking tonight.

'You're not going to eat that crap today.'

Bastard! I won't eat anything you cook! I will always do the opposite of what you force me to do!

I avoid Meredith's weird canine look, who probably witnessed the whole fight, to just take a seat between Mery and Tommy, avoiding even the latter who laughs through his mustache as he looks at me sideways.

I sink the plastic spoon into the lousy-tasting organic ice cream, but I try to hold back the annoyance and start eating in silence, continuing to stare at the television screen even when the others are called to the table by the blond ass.

'El Chapo' terrifies me enough, especially when the protagonist's son is killed, but I decide to spend the rest of the evening watching the episode and avoiding the moans Ethan emits from the table just to make me understand what I'm missing, but I prefer starve rather than please him.
