I widen my eyes and, without saying anything, I reach down to the dog's height to start stroking his ears and muzzle, widening the smile when he takes heavy steps forward excitedly and starts running his tongue on my cheek with the tail that continues to fidget.
"Meet Biscuit." - when the woman begins to speak I remember her presence and I hurry to stand up with a serene expression, but before greeting her or being kind enough to let her in, I let her start introducing herself:
"I'm Ethan's aunt." - she says, nodding at her words and making my eyes widen slightly:
"My son said that Ethan is back and ..." - she stops talking for a couple of seconds, just enough time to look at me from head to toe, then bring her eyes back to mine and give me a wink of which I don't actually understand the meaning:
