A tall young man around 17 years old checked his multitask watch with his skyblue eyes. He had a pretty face rivaling that of famous stars from centuries ago. He had a short crimson red hair, which made a strange combination that weirdly fitted him.
Name: Ethan Oswind
Age: 17 Years old
Job: Registered Student of Sky Tower İnsitute
Strength: 11
Agility: 14
Endurence 12
Stamina: 11
Bloodline: Rank D( mutated): Electrocute
Bloodline: Rank?(Grade 0): ???
'Still too low' Ethan thought before uninterestedly scrolling through his stats and info page to find what he's searching. A multitask watch was something humanity has recently developed. 12 years ago a teacher from their Sky Tower İnsitute has found a way to digitally analyze people's stats and evolution progress through their blood samples. Every day the watch would take a bit of your blood to analyze your stats and bloodline, before re-supplying the blood back to the bloodstream. The teacher that invented the watch was regarded as a genius and promoted. She is now the leader of research department in the tower.
Even though Ethan scoffed at his stats, his attributes were still incomparable to the humans that used to live on the earth centuries ago. İn the past an average human had between 3-5 stats from each category and even the best athletes of humanity would barely be able to reach 10-11 in just one category. But now even a trainee has stats that surprasses the best athletes.
The reason for this change was the appearence of bloodlines. A century ago the sky cracked for an unknown reason and many different species appeared one after another. Along with those species came a type of radiation that were never seen before, for the humans at least. Those species that came from the crack seemed to know about it as they called it the mana. 80 percent of the humanity couldn't resist the mana and died due to an unknown illness. The remaining 20 percent was hunted by the other races for various reasons, as the other species knew how to use mana, they had an overwhelming advantage, so much so that even the technology that helped humanity conquer earth before was helpless against them. As the hunt continued the humanities unity has crumbled and most of them surrendered and accepted to be other races slaves. A really small part managed to escape to unconquered territories, hoping to be never found by those mighty races. Ethan and the so called Skytower was the descendants of those that escaped from the grasp of those mighty races.
'We are the lucky ones.' His uncle Gustav would tell Ethan. But Ethan didn't share this sentiment at all. They were trapped in the sky in a base that they built with their technology. But in Ethan's eyes this was just a cage. What was the use of living if they can't even get out of their base.
Ethan was a little distracted as his mind was busy remembering the past. ' I need to focus. I will see the earth that my father has conquered. Even if the chance of me dying is extremely high I can't miss this opportunity. I will one day find my mother as well. And prove them all wrong.'
Ethan checked the time one last time while his hearth started to bump faster and faster. '23 minutes left. I hope Gwen managed to complete that task. I can't mess this up, I need to be prepared for reaching the ground.'
Ethan took a deep breath before he started walking to the door at the end of this empty corridor. ' In 42 hours, I will be free.' he reminded himself. He opened the door and enetered the cafeteria with a casual face and a light smile on his lips.
The cafeteria was extremely loud, people were laughing or shouting everywhere and the inside was a complete chaos. Most of the seats were taken since it has been more than 30 minutes since lunch time began. When he entered he instantly attracted attention as several people looked towards his way, the cafeteria quitened down for a moment as some people murmured while others frowned at Ethan.
'' There comes the trash...'' a 16 year old skinny kid murmured while looking down.
'' Look at his smug face, the child of a traitor and an outsider. What right does he even have to share the same room with us. Whenever I see him, I just want to bash his face on a wall.'' A burly kid remarked. His voice was not particularily low as many people heard him including Ethan. Ethan didn't even spare him a glance as he continued with steady steps towards the food area completely ignoring him, but the smile on his face was clearly gone and his eyes were extremely cold.
''Watch your mouth. It is forbidden to curse war heroes in public'' A cold voice rebuked him. Whole cafeteria seemed to be silenced by just a sentence from that young man. The burly kid that just spoke looked at the direction that the voice came from and he immediately broke into cold sweat as he cursed internally. He has unintentionally offended such a big figure.
''I-I'm sorry young lord. P-Please forgive my insolance, I was...'' He stopped as he realized that the handsome young man has already left the room after shutting him down. He sighed in relief and shame as he though ' I have overestimated myself... such a figure will naturally not be offended by someone as insignificant as me.'
Ethan looked towards the door that the handsome young man has left with a puzzled expression. He knew that person since there was no one in Sky Tower that hasn't heard of him. He was the dream prince in many girl's dream. Son of the Supreme Leader of Skytower, most talented junior of this generation. Ethan didn't know much about his stats but he knew he has already stepped into the tier one stage among awakened beings. As awakened beings every tier symbolized a step up in power. Ethan was tier o. There were many requerements for someone to increase their awakened tier. Bloodline growth and physical growth was one of those requirements. To be able to rank up to tier 1 one should at least posses 20 stat points from each category and also have his bloodline matured to some extend.
Ethan looked at the 'dream prince' Jason's way for a few seconds before resuming his walk to food area. He didn't think he should be thankful or grateful since he knew Jason didn't stop that burly kid for himself. His father was not only a personal issue it was also a public issue as part of the skytower see him as a hero and other part see him as a traitor. The issue regarding Ethan's father was so dividing that people young or old was regularly fighting about the issue.
Jason's father, the Supreme Leader has once declared Ethan's father Marcus as a Great Hero of Skytower. Even after the so called betrayal and his eventual death this decision was still not canceled. As a person his father personally declared a hero is verbally attacked in public Jason had to step up or this would be a slap to his fathers face as well. Ethan also used to defend his father fiercely but as time passed he started to ignore other people's opinions about the issue. ' Who do they even know about my father? Let them speak their bullshit for now since I will prove them all wrong later.' Ethan didn't care what other people believed, even though his knowledge was limited he knew more than others. And for him his father was absolutely right at the decisions he made at that time and he didn't care what others thought about him at all.
After a few seconds of awkward silence cafeteria turned to it's usual loudy self and people ignored Ethan and mind their own business. Even though he attracted much attention while he entered, when he was inside no one greeted him or spoke with him. There was a reason even if he was trash and more than half of the Skytower hated him not many people dared to pick a fight with Ethan. The reason was his uncle Gustav. He was his only family and backer here, after his father's death his uncle was the one who raised him. But as a backer he was quiet strong! He was one of the five departmant leaders, Leader of Security Department and a tier 2 awakened. Right now the highest ranked awakener in skytower was president at tier 2 peak, so his uncle was a big deal. 'I wonder how strong my father was?' Ethan thought to himself. His only clue was that his father was also known as the conqueror since he conquered a giant region and was the overlord of it for 2 years. He knew his father killed a few Tier 3 awakened beings but he had no idea how strong his father was.
Ethan shook his head to awake himself from his thoughts while checking the time. '20 minutes left. Where the hell is Gwen?' He began scanning the crowd again as he selected his food. He was annoyed when he couldn't find any meat since it was his favorite. He casually picked up a chocolate cookie and started to nibble on it as he roamed in the cafeteria searching for his friend. As he was roaming some people realised something was different about Ethan today. But not many people could point out what it was exactly.
He seemed to be extremely confident and relaxed. Normally he was restless and fierce. Normally people would either ignore him or attemp to bully him if they had the guts but this time it felt like he was ignoring everybody else instead. He treated the usual mocking and disdainful glances like air. Not many people has realized this but to people that observed him closely or to his bullies the change was obvious. One such person that was getting annoyed second by second was Gabriel. Gabriel was a short 16 years old young man with short brown hair. His face was exceptionally long and his nose was also quiet long too. Combined with his unusually low height, the resulting combination was not pretty. The calm and confident Ethan was a foreign thing for him and he felt a faint sense of danger. ' What has changed?' he asked in his mind. And this was indeed the right question to ask.
But the answer was not someone that born talented would grasp. What if a person who has been tirelessly practicing with a D grade talent to achieve impossible dreams were suddenly given a chance to do better. His confidence and fighting spirit will rise up and he will work even harder to achieve his dreams. It was a negligible possibility, but that was the case with Ethan. He has many dreams. Exploring the earth, taking revenge for his father, finding his mother and so on. But to achieve all his dreams he has to be extremely strong. Unfortunately life has somehow played a joke on him. He was the son of the most talented Sky Tower awakened ever, but he only had a D grade bloodline. Everyone has regarded him as a trash except for his few friends and his uncle, even when he worked twice as hard as everyone he could only watch them get farther away from him.
But all this changed 5 days ago when he awakened another bloodline. Awakening 2 bloodlines were extremely rare but was not impossible at all, in Sky Tower there were 4-5 such people beside himself. But aside from awakening a powerful bloodline his first bloodline was also mutated. A mutated bloodline can no longer be regarded as the same grade as a non-mutated one. It was not certain the rank of a mutated bloodline but a mutated bloodline was always stronger than a non-mutated one of it's own kind. He was hiding his abilities for now, but still that doesn't prevent the air around him changing completely.
As Gabriel was contemplating the changes that has happened to Ethan he stole a glance at Abby, the girl he brought here for a date. When he realized that Abby was also examining Ethan intently his rage rised like a volcano. He coughed for a few times and only then managed to take Abby's attention back at himself. Abby turned at him and looked at him weirdly
'' Are you okay? You should drink some water, in case something has stuck in your throat.'' Abby sincerely advised.
''....'' Gabriel was speechless as his words were stuck in his throat. Since he could not take his rage on Abby he silently sipped his water as he hatefully glared at Ethan.
Abby also secretly glanced at Ethan. Ethan was naturally charming and now with his aloof personality Abby felt that Ethan today was extremely eye cathing. Than suddenly as if realizing they were looking towards him, Ethan turned to them and gave a radient smile to Abby's direction causing Abby to blush profusely as she immediately cut eye contact out of emberassment and hide her now reddened face. ' That smile catched me off guard!' She complained inside as she was biting her lower lips. She never expected the calm and elegant Ethan to smile at him suddenly. While she was thinking all this she failed to see Gabriel in front of him was trembling from head to toe, he couldn't even hold the glass in his hand properly. ' THAT BASTARD.THAT BASTARD.THAT BASTARD:'
Ethan unhurriedly started to walk towards the end of the cafeteria. He was naturally not smiling at Abby whatsoever, he didn't even realise they were there. He was only searching for one person for the entire duration and he saw her. The moment he saw her she winked at him, meaning her task was completed succesfully. Thus he smiled at her to show her, his appreciation. '15 minutes left, just in time Gwen.'
''WHERE DO YOU THİNK YOU ARE GOİNG YOU BASTARD!?'' A roar and the sound of glasses and plates breaking was heard. The cafeteria was once again silenced as they dumbfoundedly watched a trembling and red Gabriel rush towards the trash Ethan.
