Chapter 7 - CHAPTER 7: SOMETHING NEW

The sun was coming up as they came out of the basement, carrying all the children safely. All the parents were overjoyed as their children were safe and healthy.

"It must have been impossible with you guys," Enzo said.

The news spread throughout the city. The mayor came to visit them in the afternoon after lunch.

"Enzo and team, you all did a great job. Ask me anything I will try to get for you guys," he said.

Enzo looked at Levi and smiled. "You should ask; the real hero."

Levi stood up. "I guess… just make sure the city is safe from trouble, that's all I want. Its such a pain to fight these monsters."

The six of them smiled at him.

"And I want my 40 gold coins doubled," Levi said.

"You bastard," Mello shouted.

The mayor laughed at them. "As you wish."

*

"After collecting the reward, the time arrived for them to return.

"You guys did a good job," Enzo said.

"Let's meet again," Nora let out.

"Here, take this reward from me," Levi said.

"Wait, why 30 gold?" Enzo asked surprised.

"Well, share among yourselves, without you guys I might not have learnt something new. You girls can share this 10 coins," Levi said tossing the reward at the three girls.

"Since when you become so generous," Daisy said.

"You aren't fully weird," Evy said looking at Levi.

"He's weird, that's for sure," Mello replied.

"I'm sick of you guys," Levi sighed.

They got on the bullock cart and made their journey back to their place.

*

The sun was shining bright when they reached back.

"I want to sleep," Mello said tired of all the travelling.

"It feels good to be back," Daisy added.

As they were walking in the streets, Levi spotted the person whom he saved back in Amber. He smiled at Levi and approached.

"What brings you here?" he asked.

"I stay here," replied Levi.

"If I'm not wrong, you saved me twice."

Twice? The first we met was in Amber.

"First during the morning from those bullies and second time at the shop."

"Wait, it was the same person?" Levi asked, surprised.

"YEH! They were my clones."

Clones? Might be some kind of magic.

"Who is he… Levi?" Mello whispered.

"My apologies, I haven't introduced myself yet. My name is Elmer."

"I'm Levi," they introduced themselves

"Please visit my shop if you need anything. I have my own weapon shop and it runs quite well, I might give you guys a discount," he winked.

"Sure," Levi replied and made their way to the stable.

"I can't stay HERE!" he shouted.

"Getting rich is the only option," Hina replied.

"It's gonna take years," he sighed and laid down on the pile of grass.

*

During the evening the four of them made their way towards the Adventurers Guild. As they entered inside everything was rejuvenated.

"What happened here?" Levi asked.

"We have opened our own restaurant for our adventurers. The food is top quality and cheap compared to outside restaurants," the receptionist announced.

"It's something we have been waiting for a long time," Levi shouted happily at the top of his voice.

They sat around a table and ordered their food.

"Who the hell ordered alcohol?" Levi said with a straight face.

"Well, it's a stress buster for me," Mello replied.

"What the hell are you doing to have stress?" Levi shouted. "Can I have a sip?"

"You are still minor," Daisy replied.

"You have to be at least 18 to drink alcohol," Hina added.

"Do you guys want a sip?" Mello asked.

"No, thank you!" both of them replied in unison.

*

"That was tasty," Levi said getting up.

But Mello was in deep sleep and her face was red.

"And who is supposed to carry her?" he asked.

"She's a heavy drinker," Hina said.

"Levi, get her on your back," Daisy ordered.

"Why don't we leave her here?" Levi suggested.

"Come on, it's getting late," Daisy exclaimed.

Levi went near and carried her on his back. She looked at him with half eyes closed.

"Levi, is that you? You look so cute, let me touch you," she said dazedly.

"She's out of her mind," Levi said.

"Let me carry her," Hina said and held Mello on her back.

They came outside, the cold air greeted them.

"It's so chilly, let's hurry," Levi said, shivering.

Mello got off from Hina's back and walked to Levi.

"Hey, hey. You look cute today. Come on, let me carry you," Mello said, struggling to maintain her balance.

"Take this witch away from me," Levi shouted.

"Aww, are you shouting at me?"

Hina grabbed her while Daisy supported Hina.

"She's not drinking from next time," Daisy sighed.

*

NEXT MORNING

"Why the hell am I sleeping next to this GUY?" Mello shouted at the top of her voice.

Levi sighed. "It was you who wanted to sleep with me. You refused to let go of me last night."

"Did something happen? I don't know what I did after drinking," Mello asked.

"Well, the past can't be changed," Levi said with a regretful look.

"Did something happen?" Mellon asked, looking tense.

"Don't worry Mello, nothing happened," Daisy assured her.

"Yeah, I kept an eye on Levi the whole night," Hina declared.

"Give me my personal space," Levi shouted.

"What the hell do you mean by personal space? Look at those horses, aren't you invading their personal space and on top of that you are sleeping on their food," Daisy replied.

Levi sighed. "Let's go," he said in a low voice sick of all the trouble.

"Levi, why don't you learn magic?" Hina suggested.

"Come on, Hina. It requires a lot of time to learn and learning is not enough, becoming an expert takes a lot of toil on your body," Mello replied.

"Wait, can I learn magic?" Levi asked, surprised.

"Well, you can learn the easy one," Daisy replied.

"I'm gonna learn magic," Levi shouted with renewed strength. "Hina teach me magic."

"Did you forget what I said? You can't learn complicated magic. Your fragile body can't take the load," Daisy replied.

"Are we talking about magic?" It was Elmer.

"What are you doing here?" Levi asked.

"Oh, I happened to pass by and I saw a familiar figure and didn't know it was you," he laughed anxiously. "Levi, I can teach you simple magic, what do you say?"

"Hmm, does that have any side effects?" Levi asked.

"No. There's no side effects and it's a simple process. Let he help you."

Elmer grabbed his hand, closed his eyes and started chanting something. The whole surrounding turned white. Levi looked at Elmer in amazement.

NARRATOR: Levi and magic? Sounds like a bad idea to me.
