Chapter 9 - Another World

"Errrrrr!" I came to my senses, laying on my back and gazing up at the sky. I could see clouds floating on gently by, and I could the voices of birds chirping in the distance.

I rose to my feet, surveying my surroundings; I can't help but admire the mountains and grassy plains all around me. I could see a large tree in the distance. Plus, I thought I could make out a road next to it as well, though I couldn't say it was advanced. I can't help but wonder if we really ended up in a medieval world. Then I walked towards Natasha who was lying a few meters away from me. I sat beside her and raised her head to my thigh. I could feel her body temperature and the rhythm of her breathing. Then I tapped lightly on the smooth skin of her face and said, "Hey! Natasha, sleep time's over. Wake up!" After a while, she opened her eyes and looked around in confusion, "Where are we? What happened?" She asked while still rubbing her eyes.

"I don't know that for now, dear. I just know that we are fine." I said in a casual tone.

"The Tesseract activated on its own and sent us somewhere. I am not even sure if we are in the same world."

"What!? We are not on earth anymore." Natasha said shocked by the revelation.

"Yep, that's what I am saying," I replied with certainty in my voice.

"Julie, are you there?" I raised my hand and asked towards my hand. I lost contact with Mr. X and my other clone must have been deactivated due to the original Omnitrix's disappearance.

Judging by the orbit of this world, there is no satellite or something similar. This world entirely runs on magic and people use magic for their day-to-day work. Julie replied to my question with a detailed introduction of this current world which she found out through conducting a search function.

[Ben, while you and Ms. Romanoff were unconscious, there was some kind of energy that entered both your bodies. I tried diagnosis on it but it was of some unknown origin.]

As I heard this I was astonished I immediately cast on myself, which was given to me as a guide and that's what made me more confused and scared.

Everything has changed, it doesn't look good. What's with the mutation? Then I checked Omnitrix, in hope that it would try to find something, but it was not working completely. It was completely offline. Since it wasn't working. I took off the Ultimatrix gauntlet and put it in and took out two simple watches with the Galvan symbol in the center, a symbol to two triangles of black color pointed towards each other with a green background. This watch contained a connection of JULIE and would also act as a communication device as well as a map if we let it scan a place.

"Ultimatrix is not working in this world. Put it on Natasha, it works as a communication device and a map." I said while giving one watch to Natasha.

Then I asked JULIE about the time and it was 6:34 PM. I thought we cannot reach a nearby town in this short time. So, I started walking towards the forest. While chatting with Natasha we have been walking. Soon we reached an opening surrounded by trees.

"This place seems good enough for camping."

"This place, in the middle of a forest seems a good place to you," Natasha said. She was clearly confused. I waved my hand towards her.

"Just wait and watch," I said and then pointed my hand towards a tree. Using , I cut a huge tree and get rid of all the branches, and then I made 4 logs from it about the diameter of seven inches each. I waived my hands and buried the tips of all four logs into the ground making a rectangular shape from it. Then I raised its branches and connected the four pillars with it. Then I made another long log and made it into a ridge-piece for our Shack. I made 13 frames for a scissor truss roof. It would be long enough to hold a bedroom, kitchen, and washroom. It took almost 15 minutes to make an Old-American wood house of Elizabethan age. After finishing this outer structure and looking around, Natasha had set borne fire and was looking in my direction.

"A few minutes more and it will be ready," I said towards Natasha. She nodded. I then went inside the house and took out a ball of Vibranium from my . Using my ability, I absorbed it and put my hands on the ground. Then a thick layer of blue Vibranium started spreading from my hands and in a matter of a few seconds reached all the wooden walls. Now, I took a Crystal-Sapien crystal and absorbed it. I put my hands on the walls and turned them all to block the holes on either side of the wall both from inside and outside. Simply, by looking from the outside it transformed into a modernized house, judging by the looks. Then I reinforced with mana. After completing the structure and design I designed a bathroom along with a bathtub and made a kitchen inside. I also made a chimney inside because it was cold in the forest. When I exited the house Natasha was cooking what looked like a rabbit.

"How did you find a rabbit?" I asked Natasha. I didn't know there were rabbits in here.

"I heard movements when I was sitting here and when I checked, it was this rabbit." She replied still sitting but I could see fatigue in her eyes.

"OK, let's eat something and then go to sleep."

After we finished eating, we headed inside the house. I closed the door behind us and burned a fire in the chimney.

"Wow! It is so magical. Where did you learn doing magic, Ben?" Natasha sat on the bed which I materialized using mana manipulation. It was one of the creation ability of Anodite.

"After seeing your powers, I think you could have taken care of Loki and his army pretty easily. Why didn't you do anything?" She asked me while making herself comfortable on the bed.

"If I wanted, no one can even enter earth's atmosphere without my permission. But I let him do whatever he wanted because there are some stronger beings who are watching over our planet for their own interest. Do you think Loki has the conviction to attack a planet without anyone watching over him?"

"Do you think there was someone else pulling the strings?"

"Yes, Loki didn't even know the existence of the scepter he was using," I said while taking out the mind stone and the space stone from my and showed it to her.

"This was the power source of Loki's scepter and this was the source of Tesseract's power. These are called infinity stones. And these are the unities that based the existence of the universe." I explained both the origin of the stones to her.

"If these stones are the energy cores of the Scepter and the Tesseract, then what are there in place of these stones?" She asked the very obvious question.

"Those are also stones but I call them Life-energy crystals. I made them as a disguise for the original stones."

"What are the uses of these stones, anyway?"

"Space-stone can take you anywhere you want and the mind stone can use mind-controlling abilities."

"Why don't you use the space-stone to take us back then?" She voiced her thoughts but I can say she is pretty much irritated.

"There is no need for the stone to go back but I just need to know what the Tesseract wants from us. Since it sent us here to this world, but why?" I said because I was also curious to know what does it wants from us.

"OK. I understand let's sleep today was a very long day, first fighting a war with the aliens and now, getting lost in a medieval world." She said while stretching her hands. I could really say she was pretty hot at the moment but I was too tired to think anything at the moment. I took out a blanket from my and climbed onto the bed. Natasha opened her eyes for a while, looked at me and then snuggled up to my shoulder and put her head on my chest, and closed her eyes. She looked like a small kitten at the moment, I smiled at her behavior and put my hand on her waist and kissed her on the forehead, and closed my eyes.

Fury was sitting in his office at the moment. He was much tense because he lost the three best agents in this war. He managed to send Coulson's body to Tahiti to initiate the Tahiti Project of Magical City. The Tahiti project was actually designed for a fallen avenger to be revived again, therefore, he knew that Coulson will be successfully revived but he wasn't sure how to find; Natasha and Ben. He was lost in his train of thoughts, Loki's words were, again and again, ringing in his ears, 'How desperate have you become?' which were making him more 'desperate' by every passing second.

Someone suddenly barged into Fury's office while shouting, "Director Fury, you have to see this." It was one of SHIELD's capable Level:9 Agent; Commander Maria Hill.

Fury came out of his thoughts and inquired, "What is it, Commander Hill?"

"Mr. X received a message from an unknown server, you should see it." She projected the message to the screen in the office.

"This is just a number. What does it mean?" Fury asked, not understanding the situation.

"This is a code word Ben always uses for his nickname but he left a message there which is…." Hill replied and pressed a few buttons on the screen.

A few minutes later the screen decoded the message and it said,

[Lucifer: No one could be trusted in SHIELD.]

"Commander Hill, no one should know about this, I am going to initiate an investigation. No one should know about this and try to find out where are they?"
