Yana and I went ahead of Tessa who was left with Kira back at her place. We made use of the time to drop by our house first to see Grandma and then to Yana’s to drop off her mom and take pictures with her brothers.
After that, we set off for the evening. I was thinking we had a good start during the car ride. Yana was sitting close to me, our hands locked between us. I was curious as to what her mom had told her before getting into the car but she kept her mouth shut, smiling all throughout.
I was savoring the peaceful moment until Yana’s cellphone rang.
It was a quick call, but enough to bring worry to her face.
“Principal Clarion asked me to come in early. There's quite a scene with Mrs. B,” she said, sighing as she put the phone back in her purse.
