“Okay, let’s do that,” Yana declared, wiping tears from her cheeks. She let out a long breath and I could see she had calmed down now.
“I’m sure you don’t know, but you actually led us to the right place,” I said. A rush of excitement flooded me, kicking away my previous thoughts.
Yana gave me a curious look but I just grabbed her hand, smiling. “Come with me,” I said. “I want to show you something.”
We took the stray path leading to the old amphitheater, and deeper into the woods until we reached a tunnel of trees opening to a bright, grassy area surrounded by vines and shrubs. There nestled tiny white buds that were only starting to blossom, emitting a certain fragrance which the Sampaguita (Arabian jasmine) is widely known for.
