“Oww…”
I woke up to a stiff neck and shoulders due to a weight pressed on me for a while now. I tilted my head a little and saw Yana nuzzling me, still sound asleep. I blinked a few more, just enough to shake away the dream that I had: there was Amber and we were talking—again. I knew the gist of it even if I couldn’t remember the whole conversation.
“…a good time. She’d love it.”
“Yana’s… not that kind of girl. I respect her.”
“Respect her…” I echoed aloud, getting conscious all of a sudden.
I threw a quick glance at the other passengers in the bus. Seeing they were all snoozing, I looked out of the window instead. Approximately five hours since our departure, the scenery had now transformed from buildings and highways into a bushy, rustic landscape. We’d been soaked in the bus’s AC for about two hours now since the last stopover and I could already tell how refreshing it must be to stretch my legs and breathe the air outside.
