If I could summarize the next twenty-four hours that had passed after the night of the field trip, it would be with these words: ‘I want to see you’ and ‘I can’t wait’. Okay, maybe it wasn’t much of a summary, but it was the part that stood out to me the most.
Yana and I had been on the phone for the most part, and she told me it hadn’t been easy asking permission from her mom to go out during the week.
“But it’s the only day I could spend with you before we leave to the province for All Saint’s Day,” she said on the phone. “My sis is at home so I have to think of a believable excuse, too,” I said after. And then the costume check that was supposed to be scheduled a few weeks later came to mind, and the problem was solved. Yana didn’t want to lie to her mom, and I didn’t want her to feel bad, that’s why we asked Tessa if we could do it earlier.
