We were having P.E. that day in the gym. I was watching from the sidelines, waiting to see if I would get my turn, as the class played badminton doubles. Maris was partnered with Tessa, and as I watched them, I still couldn’t believe she was someone I knew from the past.
And it still bugged me why she had kept it from me all this time.
The moment they were done, Maris walked over to where I was and sat down beside me. Yana, on the other hand, had just finished the warm up stretches with Kira and they were about to play next.
I was thinking it was a good thing that they were paired up, for Kira, being the athletic star, could carry their team very well. Yana was usually having a hard time with sports activities that most of our classmates didn’t want to be paired with her.
“You really like her, don’t you?” Maris said to me. She had her towel draped around her shoulders and was looking straight, hugging her knees.
I just smiled. Both of us knew it was true.
