That's my schedule for everyday until I turn 18 year's old. Every kid in New Salem (a new country made from South America) has a test to take that determines which group they get put in. Aurameleus is the group on one side of town and they believe in drugs and sex and gangs and fighting. The other group is called Sereniteus and they believe in pureness and being eternal and magic and even meditation. I am sadly part of Aurameleus and have been for my whole life because of my father being the leader here. My father was named after the creator of our group-Markus Aurameleus The 5th.
Today is Monday and I am heading to the fighting ring to practice with my mentor who helps me fight and learn new moves. I've had the same mentor for 8 years now. Dimitri Vegas Jacobs is my mentor and he's been a mentor for 9 years. He's 20 and he practiced to be a mentor at the age of 10 now he's a pro.
I step into the ring and face Dimitri while he steps back and forth.
"We need to work on your punches since your too slow in the ring" he rolls a punch and I side step.
Dimitri takes off his shirt and his muscles tighten and I avert my eyes
"Pay attention and watch my feet" he instructs me
I side step him and dodge his punches for a few minutes until he starts to sweat. I stop as Dimitri rolls a last punch at me as I spot a figure in the shadows and I hadn't payed attention. Dimitri trips over my foot and I fall back. He lands over me and his fist hits the ring floor and his eyes look red.
"Why are your eyes red?" I ask below him
He frowns "My contacts are red, Marie" he lifts his head up and sits on my legs.
"This is something an enemy could do in the ring and the way you get out of this position---" I elbow his side and he falls to the floor. As he stands up I punch his side and keep punching him. He catches my wrists on the fourth punch and flips me over. I land with a thud on the ring floor. Dimitri stands over me with a smirk "You lost your focus and that's not good"
I sit up and slap him but my hand gets caught between his fingers. His hands are warm and tender close to mine. He lifts me up with the hand an I fall into his chest. I look away from him cause he still has no shirt on.
"You get flustered way too easily" he lets my arms go and grabs his shirt before putting it on
"I get distracted, sir" I lean on the ropes
He stands and looks me up and down "Isn't your birthday tomorrow?"
I nod "And I don't plan on inviting you"
He stares at me and his face turns a red color "I am your mentor so you HAVE to invite me"
He walks out of the ring and leaves me there
I grab my bag and exit the ring but my eye catches sight of a boy on the other side of the wall-fence that separates the sides of town. The boy is punching the fence and I hear grunts like he's mad or in pain.
I tip toe to the fence wall and peek into a crack and I see a boy with tattoos on his neck and a gash done his back that's covered in dry blood. He seems to feel eyes on him and turns to the fence. Just as he leaves my view he peaks into the hole and our eyes meet.
He backs away and speaks "Why are you so nosey?"
I can't tell if he's trying to be nice or be obnoxious so I go on the even side
"I am just curious" I say
"Be curious on your side and stop peaking at me" he walks away and my heart drops
On my way back home I think of a way to see the other side of town. I am lost in thought and run into someone while walking.
"You never pay attention to your surroundings" Dimitri stands over me with a scowl
"It isn't my fault you ran into me without looking!" I shout and stand up
He grabs my wrist and look at my bruises "Let's go get you fixed up" he doesn't wait for me to protest and pulls me to the nearest doctors office on this side of town.
He calls to a nurse on the side and she takes me to a room. Dimitri stands in the corner of the room while the nurse checks my pulse and my vitals and finished with my eyesight check. She smiles "Your good but you have some bruises that's all"
I am about to step off the bed when she puts a hand on my arm "Do you want to go on BC?"
"What's BC?"
She smiles again "At your age teens tend to sleep with guys and I just want to ask if you want to go on Birth Control?"
I can see Dimitri snicker and I get frustrated "What does Birth Control do?"
She frowns "Its so you don't get pregnant"
I stiffen "I'll take it because I can't trust no guy who meets me"
She writes down a prescription and hand's it to me "Have your mentor teach you more like me" she smirks
"Why?"
"A mentor is pretty much the only person who you can trust. My mentor took my virginity when I was 18 and I had a kid accidentally at the time and he had me get an abortion" I flinch hearing those words
"And then he wasn't my mentor after that since we didn't use any protection at the time. Just don't let that happen to you unless you were crazy" she walks out
I look at Dimitri who has been silent the whole time "Don't try anything" I squint
He walks out with me and as we reach my house a few minutes later he stands at the door. My father opens it and smiles wide when he sees Dimitri.
"Young man how's it going with your fiance back in New York?"
"We broke up, sir"
"Well I wanna hear what happened so come on inside and Marie can make us tea" I follow behind them into the living room and I take out some tea from the fridge and warm it up. That's cheapest and fastest way to do it. As I walk into the room I hear their conversation clearer.
"I am glad your her mentor because your so wise even for your young age" my father says
"I kind of like her, sir" I hear Dimitri confess
Father is stiff "Well where did you go today?"
"I practiced a bit with her and then she was walking home so I took her to the doctors to get her on Birth control" Dimitri tells him
I walk out from the side and set the teas down but father stands up "I've been busy today so I will be in my study if you guys need me I'll be down there"
He grabs the tea and goes to his study locking it behind him. Dimitri stares at the door before sitting back down on the couch and drinking the tea. I notice an open bottle of wine on the table and a cup that's there. Dimitri notices and he pours a cup and downs it
"Wait, you can get drunk---" but he's already drank 3 cups of it before I can stop him
I plop down on the couch next to him and he wrap his arm around me in a hug and I stiffen
He pulls me closer and leans over to whisper "I like you"
I stand up and his arm drops from my shoulder "I'm going to my room and don't disturb me"
I walk up to my room and close my door behind me
I start my computer up and listen to some music. I feel hands on my neck a few minutes later and jump .
Dimitri is in my room and he's smiling at me "Are you okay all alone?"
Shivers roll down my arms as he caresses my shoulders like he does when he messages them after practice.
He stands me up and messages my shoulder and they feel a lot better and it eases the stress from the day
I sit down on my bed and he stops messaging me.
He pushes me back until I hit my back on the headboard and he leans over my neck. I notice the paper from the doctors is in his pocket and I go to grab it but he holds my arms above my head and he kisses me on my mouth. I feel him touch me in a place that isn't safe and I push him but he doesn't budge,
his chest like a metal weight on me and he grabs my legs before pinning me down.
I feel him take out a pocket knife and he cuts my shirt down the middle. The cold air hits my skin and sends shivers down my spine. He cuts my leggings off and I shiver involuntarily as his hands run down my body I feel weird and that this isn't safe.
I push at his shoulders but as he kisses my neck and rolls against me I feel a gasp escape me and I get frustrated.
He rolls his pants off and I wriggle but he holds me down and he lowers his body onto me and I desperately try to get away but I feel something cold on my thigh and freeze. If I move I am done for but if I stay still it won't help much either.
He slides against me and I groan
"Your mine" he whispers in my ear
I feel a pinch in my abdomen and pain rolls down my stomach and I know something is wrong as a wave of pain rocks me. He pushes against me harder and I scream. I hear a shout from my door and it rattles.
Dimitri covers my mouth "Were practicing fighting we'll be done in a few minutes"
The footstep at my door fade away and Dimitri pushes in and out and it hurts until it stops entirely. He lays on top of me asleep.
I gasp in pain as he's still attached to me and my insides pulse. I tighten my legs but that only squeezes the pain together and I groan. I close my eyes in pain and I have a flashback .
Flashback:
I stand up after hundreds of punches as a girl hits me over and over. I hear a voice by the side of the ring and turn.
Dimitri stands next to a young man and they both are trying to cheer me on but I black out.
I'm sitting on a swing at the border where both the towns intercept. A boy is swinging next to me and he jumps off and I follow but I stop at the red line on the pavement that divided us.
End of Flashback
I open my eyes and feel Dimitri beside me and he's still in me and I scream. Dimitri wakes up and immediately grabs my arm.
"How did I get this way with you?!" he demands in a loud voice
I gasp in pain "You were drunk"
He still doesn't leave me but instead gets mad "Why didn't you stop me from doing this!?"
"I tried but you wouldn't let me go and you forced me!"
He groans when he looks at our joined bodies and he slowly lifts off of me and it hurts. Blood covers beneath me and I cover my mouth with a hand.
He picks me up and lays me on my seat next to my desk and he takes off the bed covers and puts new ones.
"Next week is the national Survival Games and we don't know who the hell is being picked for it so don't do this ever again and clean up you don't want your father to see you"
I nod and head to the shower
As I'm enjoying the water on my skin I think of how last night could have stopped and that he would not be so mad today. I finish in the shower and my legs are sore so I put lotion on my arms and legs. I leave the bathroom and Dimitri isn't in my room.
I grab my bag and see a note left there
Dimitri*
Don't get lost on your way to the border since it's the last time you'll see me ever. Unless your lucky that you don't get chosen. Just know that last night was a mistake because I was drunk and not in my right mind. Take care, Marie
