(Jared's POV)
FentonWorks lab…
It is daytime and Danny is flying as fast as he can while Tucker tracks him with a speed scanner, Sam takes notes on a clipboard, and I am sitting back, drinking some piña colada bubble tea. The scanner clocks him at 112 mph.
"112 miles per. Lightin' up the speed gun, dude." Tucker said.
Grinning, Danny goes intangible, phasing out through the wall and back in through the ceiling then reappearing.
"Intangibility, check." Sam said, making a note on a clipboard.
Danny goes invisible, and Sam, Tucker, and I look around for him. My ghost sense goes off, knowing that Danny is nearby.
"Danny?" Sam and Tucker asked, at the same time.
"He's here." I said, while Danny dives down toward us, still invisible.
"Invisibility, check." Tucker said, flinching as Danny overshadows him.
"Hi, I'm Tucker! Don't let the PDA, glasses, and lack of muscles fool you. I'm a stud." Danny said, overshadowing Tucker.
Tucker glows green as Danny leaves him.
"I hate when you do that." Tucker said, annoyed.
"Okay, Danny. Let's ramp it up and see if you can beat my high score." I said, pressing a button on a remote, making several rings pop down from the ceilings and dart guns come out of the walls.
Danny flips through the rings then dodges the darts easily. Two board ghosts pop up from the counter and he zaps them with ecto blasts. He skips a popup board of Jazz, then hits a third ghost one. Then he zaps the Jazz one behind his back. Metal barriers pop out of the floor, and he coasts through them intangibly. Going tangible again, Danny gives us friends a thumbs up and immediately slams into the wall, falling to the floor.
"Hi, I'm Danny Fenton! Don't let the concussion and bruises fool you, I need more practice." Tucker said, scoffing.
Scowling, Danny turns a patch of the floor intangible, and Tucker falls through with a yell.
"Wow, it's quiet in here!" Sam said, excitedly.

Fenton Works…
It is still daytime and Maddie is holding a photo of her hugging a much younger Danny.
"Danny and I used to be so close." Maddie said, sitting on the couch, holding the framed picture sadly.
Jack is sitting on the couch next to Maddie, bashing figurines of himself and a ghost together.
"Aha, take that!" Jack yelled, making the Jack figurine punch the ghost figurine. "Nobody makes a meat puppet out of Jack Fenton! Ah! Uh!" He makes the Jack doll offer Maddie a piece of jerky. "Fenton jerky?"
"Gracias." Maddie said, accepting the jerky, sighing. "We shared everything. Secrets, Bunsen burners, soda…"
"Ah, yes. Nothing says bonding like backwash." Jack said.
"Danny's just shooting up so fast." Maddie said, still looking at the picture. "Those special times seem to be slipping away. Oh, I miss them."
Maddie hugs the picture.
"Hey, they all have to grow up sometime." Jack said, speaking as the ghost toy. "Curse you, Jack Fenton! You've defeated me once again! Haha!" The doorbell rings. "I'll get it!"
Jack runs to the door and opens it. It's a long-haired old ghost in a postal uniform, holding an envelope labeled 'INVITE'.
"Thanks, pal." Jack said, accepting the envelope and digging in the pocket of his jumpsuit and tosses the ghost a nickel, which passes through its hand. "Oh, and try to get some sun. You're pale as a ghost." He slams the door and goes back over to Maddie. "Hey Maddie, some kind of invite for you. I can tell because it has the word 'invite' on it."
Jack points to the envelope, which reads, 'Maddie Fenton, we invite you!' Maddie takes the invite and opens it. She reads for a moment, then lights up.
"Yes! Just what the doctor ordered." Maddie said, jumping to her feet.
ntonWorks lab…
Danny is straining so hard he's sweating as Sam, Tucker, and I look on. After a ton of effort, red spots appear on Danny's cheeks and he starts to glow and his head splits into two separate heads. Sam, Tucker gasp, and I gasped.
"Wow! You can eat a Nasty Burger and fries at the same time." Tucker said, happily.
"Yeah. The problem is, I can only split myself this far." Danny head #1 said.
"Vlad Plasmius can turn into like four different Vlads at once. That's what this weekend is about." Danny head #2 said.
"Nonstop drills."
"No homework…"
…no family…"
"…no interruptions." Both Danny heads said, at the same time.
"Hey Danny!" Maddie yelled, nearby.
Looking alarmed, Danny immediately reverts to human mode -- but only has one eye. He shouts out.
"Let me fix that." I said, slapping Danny upside the head, and he goes back to normal just before Maddie comes running down the stairs, brandishing the invite. "There you go."
"Pack your bags! We're going to a mother-son science symposium in Florida! And we can bring a plus one. Jared, you can come with us. Doesn't that sound fun?" Maddie asked.
Danny slumps.
Fenton Works…
In the living room, Danny is standing with Jazz and I and his suitcases. I have my backpack full of electronics and my luggage placed inside my bigger on the inside sling bag.
"Danny, at least you and Jared are going somewhere. I'm doomed to special family alone time with Dad." Jazz said, looking at the invite. "The DALV group. Never heard of them. Are they legitimate?"
"Legitimately boring, I'm guessing." Danny said, annoyed.
"It sure sounds like Vlad backwards." I said, sadly.
Jack and Maddie are standing over by the stairs.
"Now, just to make sure you're protected from any rogue ghost attacks on the road, sweetcakes, I made you this." Jack said, holding up a flexible metal belt with a round lock on the front. "It's the Fenton Specter Deflector…" He puts it around Maddie's waist. "…guaranteed to repel and weaken any ghost who comes in direct contact with you."
"Ooooh…" Maddie said, admiring it and she turns the lock and it beeps. "Thanks, hon." She kisses Jack. "Oh, and Jack, try not to trash the house while I'm gone…"
Maddie walks to the door.
"Suck the house into a parallel dimension one time, and you just can't let it go, can you?" Jack asked, sighing.
Private jet…
It flies over mountains. Maddie, Danny, and I are the only ones in the cabin, sitting across from each other in plush red seats. Danny is sulking.
"Come on, Mr. Pouty Pants. This weekend is supposed to be about us. Those DALV people sent this private jet just for us. How perfect is that?" Maddie asked, looking at Danny.
"Do you want the truth, or one of those little white lies that doesn't hurt your feelings?" Danny asked.
"Oh, forget it, Danny. Just look out the window at that warm, sunny Florida coastline." Maddie said, sighing.
"Folks, this is your captain speaking. If you look out the window on your left, you'll see the cold, bleak Colorado Rockies." The pilot said, over the PA.
"The Rocky Mountains aren't near Florida at all." I said, sadly.
"The Rockies? That's nowhere near Florida. What gives?" Danny asked, surprised.
"And if you look out the window on your right side, you'll see me bailing out of the plane before it careens out of control and crashes." The pilot said, over the PA.
Alarmed, Danny, Maddie, and I look out the window. Sure enough, we see the pilot jumping out of the plane with a parachute. We exchanged a look then ran for the cockpit, which we found empty. The plane immediately begins to dive, some control beeping.
I jump into the pilot's seat and take the tiller, pulling back on it to no effect.
"Crap. The controls are jammed. Danny, how can we get out of here with your mom?" I asked, sitting on the pilot's seat, with my sling bag on my shoulder.
"I know one way…" Danny said, looking over at me.
Crouching behind Maddie, Danny goes ghost, goes intangible and grasps her shoulders. However, the Specter Deflector zaps him and he falls back against the wall, reverting to a disoriented human form. Looking back, Maddie sees that something is wrong with him.
"Danny, you ok?" Maddie asked, running to check Danny's forehead.
"Yeah, I'm--fine." Danny said, swatting Maddie's arm away in alarm.
"Danny, Jared, parachutes." Maddie said, as there are three parachutes on the floor, labeled with our names. She threw a parachute at Danny and I grabbed the third parachute. "Let's go!"
We see the plane flying away and the three of us jumping out with the parachutes. The pilot floats up to us.
"Folks, at this time I'd like to inform you that you've been the victims of a cruel hoax!" The pilot yelled, transforming into the ghost that originally delivered the invite. "Thank you for flying Air Evil Plot."
The plot flies back up to the plane, laughing.
"Good thing I kept my stuff on me." I said, while we stare after the pilot, then Danny crosses his arms, scowling. "It's not worth losing stuff from next decade on there."
"Oh, come on, Danny. Don't be so glum. Look at the view!" Maddie said, excitedly.
Forest…
Maddie is slicing through the undergrowth with a machete, Danny and I are following her.
"Whew! Good thing I had my Fenton Machete tucked away in my boot, eh, Danny, Jared?" Maddie asked, wiping off her brow.
"You carry a lot of stuff, Mom. More than what Jared usually carries. How about a Fenton Cell Phone so we can call for help?" Danny asked, crossly.
"Cell phone? Oh, you can't fight ghosts with a cell phone, silly. Not that we're likely to find any ghosts around here. Besides, who needs help?" Maddie asked, going back to slashing at bushes. "I'm perfectly comfortable with us roughing it in the woods."
Outside Vlad's chalet…
Looking up, Maddie gasps. We've stumbled upon a large, ornate lodge with a V sign on top.
"Or we could just stay at this ritzy mountain chalet. I'm open." Maddie said, happily.
"Yes. Staying at a cabin where my arch enemy lives." I said, and a horn honked. "Just what I needed today."
Vlad Masters pulls up in a golf cart, "Why, Maddie and Danny Fenton. And Jared Shay, the future President of the World."
"Vlad Masters?!" Danny, Maddie, and I exclaimed, at the same time.
"Oh, what an amazing, unexpected, and totally unplanned surprise." Vlad said, pulling out three gift baskets, Maddie's pink, Danny's blue, and mine red, with our names on from under the seat. "Personalized gift baskets?"
Laughing delightedly, Maddie goes over to the golf cart.
"You're up to something…" Danny said, looking at Vlad.
"You sure you aren't after Maddie again?" I asked, clutching the strap of my sling bag. "You were last time."
"Oh, you think?" Vlad asked, looking between Danny and I.
Maddie pops into the seat next to Vlad, taking the three baskets.
"They're here. Kill Jack." Vlad said, speaking into a device on his wrist.
"What was that?" Maddie asked.
"I said...flapjacks. Mm-hmm. Pancakes. I have pancakes." Vlad said, revving the engine of the golf cart, splattering Danny and I with mud and driving off.

Fenton Works…
Jazz is on the phone in the living room.
"Ok, I'll see you later." Jazz said, talking on the phone before hanging up.
"Hey, Jazzerincess, check this out!" Jack said, holding up a short metal rod. "It's my Jack-o'-Nine-Tails. How's about a quick tutorial?"
"How about a quicker no? I'm not interested in ghost fighting, Dad. In fact…" Jazz said, standing. "I'm going out."
"Hey, rope it in, little miss. Be careful. Teenage boys are like wild animals."
Jazz opens the front door. A monstrous, vaguely rabbit-like shadow is cast down on her. A giant ghost rabbit is crammed into the doorway, and leans down to snarl at her. Jazz screams, and is yanked back by Jack just as it goes to take a bite out of her.
"Back off, she's a minor!" Jack said, firing the Jack-o'-Nine-Tails, which wraps up the ghost and blows it up, splattering ectoplasm everywhere.
"Dad, you saved me from that monster!" Jazz yelled, running up to Jack.
"Yep. It's what I do, Princess." Jack said, retracting the Jack-o'-Nine-Tails. "That, and needlepoint, which is artsy and relaxing. Now, come on! I'm putting this house under ghost lockdown!"
Jack triggers the Jack-o'-Nine again, and it flops uselessly onto his head.
(Jared's POV)
Vlad's Colorado chalet…
Danny is sitting crossly in a large chair, I am playing Splatoon 3 on my Nintendo Switch, while Maddie wanders around the room examining things. There are hunting trophies all over the walls, and a large bear rug on the floor with the head still attached and baring its teeth makes Danny jump. Danny glares at Vlad, who's looking at himself in the mirror. In the reflection, Danny can see that the 'VLAD' embroidered on Vlad's housecoat reads 'DALV' backward. Danny and I have a brief visual flash of Vlad Masters as Vlad Plasmius, surrounded by fire.
"So, what brings you three to these parts?" Vlad asked, turning to Maddie, Danny, and I.
"You'll never believe it." Maddie said, holding an open book on ghosts. "We were on our way to this symposium, and our pilot forced us out of the plane right over your house!"
"Without a landing strategy too." I said, while Maddie looked back at the book. "When I was with Team RWBY, landing strategies were there so no one gets hurt."
"No landing strategy is what we needed." Danny said, sarcastically. "Yeah, it's almost like it's some sort of villainous plot." He scowled. "What an incredibly well-planned coincidence."
"That would be an oxymoron, dear boys." Vlad said, walking over to Danny and I. "Oh and speaking of morons, Daniel, how's your old man? And Jared, did you do your last hurrah with the Doctor yet?" Danny and I growled, with Danny's eyes flashing green and my eyes flashed blue. "Ooh, both of you are having scary eyes." He shot ectoblasts at Danny and I with his own eyes, which we dodge just in time for them to blast holes in the back of the chairs as Danny and I topple to the floor. Maddie looks up, but Vlad intercepts her before she notices what's going on. "Maddie, I'm so glad you're here. It gives me the chance to apologize for Jack's behavior at our college reunion."
Maddie looks back at the book, a little ghost bookmark popping up out of it.
"Um, correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Dad possessed by some filthy, putrid…" Danny said, getting back up by the still-smoking chair, smiling. "…lonely, single ghost?"
"And wasn't that lonely, single ghost some crazed up fruit loop?" I asked, placing my Nintendo Switch inside my sling bag. "One that couldn't get the love of their life."
Smirking, Vlad shoots ectoblasts at Danny and I behind our backs, knocking us back into something or other with a crash.
Vlad snaps the book Maddie is holding shut and takes it away, "Well, if he hadn't been so weak, perhaps that never would have happened, hm?"
"Now, Vlad…" Maddie said, walking past Vlad to a bookshelf with the subjects
'The Paranormal' and 'Knitting' listed on the shelves and starts looking through the titles. "Jack might be a bumbler, but he means well."
"I know, Maddie." Vlad said, and Maddie opens a book titled 'Paranormal Science'. "And I've forgiven him for many things: causing the accident that ruined my life, stealing you, the backwash incident…"
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, back up. What was that?" Maddie asked, startled and a little shrill.
"Causing the accident that ruined my life?"
"N-no, after that."
"The...backwash incident?"
"No! In. The. Middle!" Maddie yelled, exasperated, gesturing to enunciate her point.
"Oh, the stealing you part?" Vlad asked, approaching Maddie. "Ah, you always could see right through me." He goes down on one knee, Maddie looking rather squicked. "Oh, Maddie, I'm just going to come right out with it. Please dump Jack and stay here. You, Danny, and Jared all can."
"Seriously?" I asked, pulling Danny out of the hole we were blasted through, with the two of us, singed and torn-up looking. "I can't believe this."
"Neither can I." Danny said, while he and I looked incredibly ruffled, and he turns to glare at Vlad.
"What do you say?" Vlad asked.
Maddie has a frozen face, she is stomping furiously out the front door and down the steps into the night, dragging Danny and I behind her.
"Bye Vlad! And as a lonely single man in your 40s, might I suggest internet dating? Or a cat!" Danny said, cheerily.
"See ya, Vlad! Name your cat, Maddie! Or if you develop an artificial intelligence with holographic features, make it Maddie! And have her be obsessed with you!" I said, excitedly.
"Mark my words, Maddie! Nobody says no to Vlad Masters! You will rue the day that you spurned my affection! And I-WILL-NOT-GET-A-CAT! And I-WILL-NOT-DEVELOP-AN-ARTIFICIAL-INTELLIGENCE!" Vlad said, shouting from his doorway.
(Open POV)
Fenton Works…
The entire living room and entryway is covered in ectogoop, and the doors are boarded up. Around the corner, Jack is at the ready with the Jack-o'-Nine and Jazz is huddled behind him.
"You know, in retrospect, perhaps I shouldn't have gutted the FentonWorks Ghost Shield to make your mom's antighost belt." Jack said.
A pair of ghost birds zip through the ceiling, cawing.
"Oh, more ghosts! Get 'em, Daddy!" Jazz said, running away.
The birds dive and Jack readies the Jack-o'-Nine, but they bowl him over before he gets a chance to fire it. Jazz ends up catching the weapon, and (finally) puts her battle face on. Jack gets slammed into the wall, but as the birds go to attack him, Jazz snags them both with the Jack-o'-Nine and slams them into the floor, where they vanish.
"Aye-aye-aye-ya-ya-ya-ya!" Jazz said, retracting the weapon, she smiles and punches it triumphantly into the air. "Yes!"
"Wow! Note to self: Make a Jazz action figure." Jack said, holding up the Jack figure, squeezing it and making it squeak.
(Jared's POV)
Colorado woods…
Maddie is setting up a wooden shelter while Danny and I sit by a campfire. She pulls three small pills out of her utility belt and drops them on the ground. When she squeezes a drop of water onto each, they puff out into sleeping bags. She goes to join Danny and I at the fire, pulling a piece of jerky out of her belt.
"Fenton Jerky?" Maddie asked.
"Pass." Danny said, sadly.
"Maddie, do you have marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers?" I asked, looking over at Maddie.
"I don't. Sorry." Maddie said, dropping her hand and looking downcast. "Danny, this weekend certainly isn't turning out like I planned, but we're spending it together, and that just means the world to me."
Maddie puts her hand on Danny's, but the Specter Deflector zaps Danny again, and he yanks his hand away.
"Yah! Ok! I get it! Stop touching me." Danny said, while Maddie pulled her hand away, surprised and hurt. "Look, I'm gonna sleep over here, ok?"
Danny practically runs away towards me, dragging the sleeping bag away from the fire where Maddie is sitting. I had my sleeping bag where I knew Danny would go, with me lying down inside of it.
"Well, good night, Danny, Jared." Maddie said, frowning.
"Night, Maddie." I said, looking up at the sky.
"I love you, Danny." Maddie said, slumping again.
Maddie pulls her own sleeping bag into the shelter.
"Mm-hmm." Danny said, rolling over to look at me. "Good night."
Maddie sighs and disappears into the shelter. Suddenly, a large, hair ghost leg slams down in between Danny's head and my head.
"Either Mom needs to shave her legs, or this is really bad news." Danny said.
"It's really bad news." I said, looking up at a six-legged bear ghost hulking over us. "Danny, your mom can handle herself."
The ghost dives down on Danny and I.
Vlad's chalet…
Danny and I are being thrown into two of the large chairs back at Vlad's chalet, with a motley assortment of animal ghosts snarling at us. Plasmius lands in front of Danny and I, grinning triumphantly.
"Nice petting zoo, Plasmius." Danny said, standing and he goes ghost. "Where's your lonely-guy cat?"
"And where's your hologram? Oh, wise, Emperor Palpatine." I said, standing and going ghost. "You need a cat or a hologram."
"Ah, there's that teen wit and that fanboy sass again." Vlad said, brandishing a two-pronged device that crackles with ecto-electricity and tases Danny with it, electrocuting him and forcing him back into human form.
"Vlad, don't you do that to Danny." I said, and Vlad tased me with the device, electrocuting me and forcing me back into my human form. "Hey!"
"W-wh-what was that?" Danny asked.
"Oh, I call it the Plasmius Maximus." Vlad said, holding up the device. "It has just short-circuited both of your powers for the next 3 hours. I made it so it can get past your electromagnetism powers, Jared." He looked at the clock, which reads 9:00. "That's midnight." I tell you this because I've seen your grades and I know you're bad at math." The ghost monsters gather around him. "These are my latest experiments. What do you think? Oh, that's right. Who cares what you think? I'll give you five minutes before I send my minions to destroy the both of you. The clock's ticking, Danny, on you, on Jared, and your father. Run."
Screaming, Danny and I run out the door and out toward the woods. Vlad immediately turns to his monsters.
"Get them!" Vlad said, as they all go charging off and Vlad shrugs. "Five minutes, five seconds. Oh, apparently I'm bad at math too."
Colorado woods…
Danny and I are racing through the trees.
"Jared, you could have warned me sooner." Danny said, and we clambered down some rocks and we crossed a stream. "About all this."
"I could have." I said, while Danny paused momentarily to catch his breath. "But your dad and Jazz are dealing with their own thing. And it's boring there."
We see they're gaining on us, but as we start to run again.
"I don't know how boring my home is, Jared." Danny said, tripping on a root, falling on me, and he makes us fall on our faces.
"It totally is." I said, reaching for a branch to pull me and Danny up, with me grabbing Danny's hand, and a camouflaged hand reaches down to grab mine and yanks us up into a tree.
Maddie, covered from head to toe in mud camo and holding a coil of ecto-rope, holds Danny and I up by one arm, "Remind me later how much trouble you two are in for leaving the campsite."
"Danny, just so you know, it doesn't hurt." I said, looking at my wrist where Maddie is holding me. "You'll figure it out later."
"Okay." Danny said, looking over at me.
Setting Danny and I down on the branch, Maddie drops a noose down, capturing the six-legged bear ghost.
"Be right back." Maddie said, simultaneously trussing the bear ghost into the tree and dropping down to the ground, she fastens the rope around the trunk.
As the rest of Vlad's minions charge up, she activates the Specter Deflector, making the mud shatter off of her, and strikes a martial arts pose.
"Come on, dazzle me." Maddie said, kicking some ghost butt.
"Jared, how can she not have a phone in there?" Danny asked, as Maddie pulled out a double strike staff. "And does your phone work here?"
"My superphone?" I asked, taking out my iPhone 15 Pro Max. "It works. But I don't know if it will get to the right version of Jack and Jazz."
"That is true. You said that the TARDIS redirects those calls."
Maddie kicks the rest of the ghost butt, trashing most of Vlad's experiments.
"Boo." Maddie said, looking at the remaining ghosts.
The remaining ghosts scamper, and Maddie immediately turns to scold Danny as we jump down out of the tree.
"Now young man, would you mind telling me what you and Jared thought the both of you were doing?!" Maddie exclaimed, looking at Danny.
"You are awesome!" Danny said, running over to hug Maddie's arm.
"Ohh, honey, thank you!" Maddie said, gasping in surprise.
"I will destroy you!" The tiny gopher ghost yelled, popping out by Maddie's foot.
"But we better start moving in case those ghosts come back." Maddie said, dispatching the tiny gopher ghost with a quick jab of the ecto staff.
"Right." I said, running off with Maddie. "It becomes a hunt out here."
"Uh, wait for us!" Danny said, nervously dashing after Maddie and I. "Jared, why does your phone work like that?"
"It has the ability to call the person I was looking for no matter where in time or space I was." I said, and Danny climbed onto Maddie for her to piggyback him through the woods. "The only problem is that it is locked to my relative time. We can call Jack or Jazz, no problem, but it can be future or past versions of them."
"I hate it when you're right, Jared. Even if I don't get your phone that much. I, uh, think we gave those ghost animals the slip. Uh...shouldn't we figure out a way to call Dad? That doesn't involve Jared using his superphone." Danny said, looking over at Maddie.
"As much as I hate to say this, I think we should go back to Vlad's." Maddie said, sadly.
"But he's my and Jared's archenemy!" Danny yelled, jumping down to the ground. "I mean, he...said all those horrible things about Dad."
"The three of us know he's a creep." Maddie said, scowling. "But he's a creep with a regular phone and transportation." She said more cheerfully. "And pancakes!" Maddie pulled off the Specter Deflector. "Here, put this on." Danny yelps as she puts the Specter Deflector around his waist and locks it. "I know it's girly, but it's for your own protection."
"Great." Danny said, looking down gingerly at the belt. "At midnight, Jared and I get our powers back. At 12:01, the belt zaps me, and at 12:02, Vlad tries to make out with my mom." He cringes. "Those are going to be the worst two minutes of my life."
(Open POV)
FentonWorks…
Jazz is trying on one of Maddie's jumpsuits and examining the result in the mirror. She pulls up the hood, and the camera pans over to show that Maddie evidently owns at least seven more spares.
"Jazz, honey, I…" Jazz said, walking in, holding a coil of glowing rope and a large ectogun. "Maddie! You're home!"
"Dad, it's me, Jazz." Jazz said.
"Jazz?" Jack asked, dropping the weapons. "Why, look at you. You're the spitting image of your mother." He sniffs happily. "I knew this day would come. That's why years ago I had this made for you."
Jack ran to the closet, he pulls out an exact replica of his own, much larger jumpsuit.
"...Nice." Jazz said, sadly.
"Sorry about the size. I thought you'd be swimming in my end of the gene pool--the end that's filled with ranch dressing, melted cheese, and fudge. Lots of fudge." Jack said, happily.
"Look, this is just a sociological experiment. I figure I owe it to myself to experience all this ghost stuff one time so I can hate it in a more informed context." Jazz said, looking at Jack. "No way! I am not like you and Mom. I'm a brilliant, reasonable, sophisticated girl."
"In a blue hazmat suit."
"In a blue--yahh! Quit messing with me! No more talk about ghost fighting, ok?"
Abruptly, several ghost animals stick their heads through the walls.
Jack hurls the ectogun to Jazz, who quickly shoots down several of the ghosts. Jack pulls out the Jack-o'-Nine-Tails, and they exchange a grin before charging in, yelling.
(Jared's POV)
Vlad's chalet…
Maddie, Danny, and I are walking up to the front door. Danny checks his watch and discovers it's 11:50.
"Oh, great. Ten to twelve." Danny said, looking at Maddie. "Mom? Are you sure you want to do this?"
"Maddie, you don't have to confront Vlad. Even after him trying to steal you from Jack." I said, looking down at the ground.
"Danny, Jared, if we're gonna get out of here, we need Vlad's help." Maddie said, while Danny's gaze goes down to the key to the Specter Deflector, hanging from her belt. "I love you, too." She pushes Danny and I away and heads to the door. "Clingy…"
Maddie knocks on the door and Vlad opens it.
"Maddie! Daniel! Jared! You've returned to me." Vlad said, getting down into Danny's scowling face and me looking at the ground, looking at his watch. "Mmm, and not a moment too soon."
"Danny, Jared, go somewhere else while the adults talk." Maddie said.
Vlad looks momentarily startled, then smiles as Maddie smiles coyly at him.
"Sure." Danny said, with fake cheeriness. "You and Vlad get cozy. If you need us, we'll be over there…" He gestures over his shoulder, then turns with the key, scowling again. "...barfing."
A few minutes have passed and Maddie and Vlad are sitting on the couch by the fire, with Maddie looking uncomfortable.
"Maddie, you must be exhausted, carrying the weight of that mistake you made years ago." Vlad said, looking at Maddie.
"We all make mistakes, Vlad." Maddie said, coyly. "Maybe I'll make one now…"
"Oh…" I said, while Maddie grimaces.
Vlad takes a couple puffs of breath freshener and goes in for the score, but Maddie ducks away.
"Uh-bu-bu...I couldn't possibly. I've been in the woods all night. I have to freshen up." Maddie said, grimacing again, she gets up and walks away.
"I shall await with baited breath…" Vlad said.
Maddie pauses by Danny and I, who's waiting outside a doorway with crossed arms.
"Keep old bait-breath entertained until I can find a phone." Maddie said, heading off through the doorway.
"Mom is gone, which means…" Danny said, talking to me, and he removed the Specter Deflector "...time to spend a little quality time with Uncle Vlad."
Vlad pulls out a book titled 'Romance for Rich Creepy Dummies'.
"But first, this." I said, going to the clock, pushing the hands so it looks like it's 15 until 12:00. "Here you go."
"Thanks." Danny said, approaching Vlad who still reading his book. "Hey, um, Uncle Vlad?"
"Oh, please, Daniel, don't try to butter me up. Especially with your powers and Jared's powers shorted out…" Vlad said, glancing at the clock. "…for another fifteen minutes. You two are barely threats to me with them. Without them?" He laughs, then his eyes gleam red. "Well I wouldn't need fifteen seconds, would I?"
"How can you say that?" Danny asked, innocently. "You think my mom made the decision to come back on her own? We're a family. We both talked about it last night, and Jared was the middle ground to help us decide on it, and I want to stay here with you too."
"Really? You don't mean…" Vlad said, brightening, his eyes tearing up.
"Yes, I do. Come on, give me a big hug, new Dad!" Danny cheered.
Vlad goes in for the hug, and Danny locks the Specter Deflector around his waist.
"You little rats!" Vlad said, screaming. "You two tricked me! The both of you know what this will mean for you, don't you?"
"Oh, yeah." Danny said, looking at his watch.
"We do." I said, looking down at my Apple Watch Series 8. "We totally do."
The clock goes to 12:00, and Danny and I transform into ghost mode.
"A much fairer fight!" Danny said, angrily.
Vlad transforms in return, and the belt zaps him, making him cry out and drop to stand on the ground. I immediately tossed a coin into the air and sent a Railgun at Vlad, knocking him through a wall. Maddie is running down a hallway.
"No phone…" Maddie said, opening a random door and finds a pair of cars. "No phone…"
Danny makes a strike at Vlad, who goes intangible so that Danny and I sail right through.
"No phone." Maddie said, looking into a room containing a pair of four-wheelers.
Danny and I flew through the room intangibly, yelling. Back in the main room, Vlad struggles with the belt. We phase up through the floor behind Vlad.
"Buying her time…" I said, as Vlad gets me with an ectoblast, knocking me into the mantle. I collapsed in front of the fireplace. "Shit…"
"Foolish boys! Even with diminished strength, I'm still more powerful than you both." Vlad said, attempting to split into three, but collapses back into a single Vlad with two heads.
"Huh?" Vladhead #1 asked.
"Wha…" Vladhead #2 said.
"I can't duplicate my form!" Both Vladheads said, at the same time.
"Jeez, we don't know which head to hit." Danny said, annoyed.
"We'll have to hit both. Danny, you get the one on the left. I'll get the one on the right." I said, smirking. "This is fun!"
"Yeah!" Danny said, and we launched ourselves into the air and diving. "At 112 miles per hour, I bet this hurts!"
"Blue box...but no phone. And Danny thinks I'm a nut." Maddie said, looking out onto a helipad with the TARDIS sitting on it.
Danny and I are punching Vlad around. Vlad is backing up, still getting fizzed by the belt, with Danny and I following him. Vlad halts and Danny just blows, knocking him over.
"Fine, Danny, Jared." Vlad said, flat on the floor, still getting zapped. "You two have defeated me. But you both have forgotten my pets." He whistles, and several of the animal ghosts materialize through the floor. "Finish them!"
"Finish us? You're joking, right? You guys should be mad at us. You should be mad at Vlad Plasmius. You know, the one that looks like a vampire. We're not the ones that made your melts into wall art." I said, gesturing at the hunting trophies on the wall. "He did."
The monsters immediately turn to Vlad, who's trapped up against the fireplace.
"Don't even think about it, you spectral freaks. I'm still more powerful than you." Vlad said.
I tase Vlad with my electrical shocks, forcing him back to his human form.
"And now you're not. We'll give you a five-minute head start, Plasmius." Danny said, looking at Vlad.
"Really?" Vlad asked.
"Minutes, seconds. You know how bad I can be at math." Danny said, looking at the animal ghosts. "Get him!"
Vlad runs screaming out the door, still wearing the Specter Deflector, with all the ghost monsters chasing after him. Danny and I revert to our human forms, and Maddie comes back into the room.
"What happened to Vlad?" Maddie asked, looking between Danny and I.
"He...ran out for a bite." Danny said, sadly.
"So, Maddie. How are we getting out of here? Was there a helicopter?" I asked, crossing my arms.
"Oh, I don't know. I couldn't find a phone, and there wasn't one in the cars, or the ATVs or in the blue box…" Maddie said, realizing what she's saying and facepalming. "Oh. Jared, that blue box, do you know it?"
"It's the TARDIS!" I said, excitedly. "There's no helicopter for some reason. But the TARDIS is here."
"Maybe we could just take the blue box?" Danny asked.
Maddie smiles.
TARDIS console room…
Maddie, Danny, and I are flying home in the TARDIS.
"God, I am so glad the TARDIS landed there." I said, flicking switches and turning the knobs around the TARDIS console. "Otherwise, it would be much longer."
"Yeah. It would have been a long way home." Danny said, happily.
Maddie is reading a book, and Danny is drinking a soda.
"Now sweetie, while Jared is busy piloting this time machine back home, we're not going to mention any of this to your father, right? He'd be insanely jealous if he found out, so...mum's the word." Maddie said.
"Actually, I think Mom's the word. Sorry I was such a jerk. I really had a good time." Danny said, offering Maddie the soda. "Backwash?"
"Oh, Danny, that is so sweet." Maddie said, smiling.
Fenton Works…
The TARDIS lands in front of Fenton Works with a thud. Jack peers out the window in mild panic.
"Quick, Jazz, they're back! Remember, not a word of what went on here." Jack said.
"My lips are sealed. And as long as the house is ghost-free, they'll never know. Oh and Dad? Thanks." Jazz said, still in the jumpsuit, holding a full trash bag and a broom.
Jack smiles, then jumps over to the couch and picks up his ghost needlepoint. The front door opens and Maddie, Danny, and I walk in. I started to hear the TARDIS take off again, knowing it is probably going back to the Doctor.
"Hey-hey, look who's back! How was your weekend?" Jack asked.
"Uh…" Danny said, sadly.
"Oh, it was boring." I said, frowning.
"Totally dull." Danny said.
"Snore." Maddie said.
"I gotta go call Tucker and Sam." Danny said.
"And I have to call Sayaka Miki." I said, happily. "She's going to love hearing this adventure."
"But, um." Danny said, kissing Maddie's cheek. "You know."
Maddie smiles and walks off.
Danny turns to his father, "So, how was your weekend?"
"Oh, you know, same old." Jack said, looking at Danny.
"Well, I guess everything's back to normal then." Danny said, happily.
"Mostly normal." I said, when Jazz, still in the jumpsuit, comes flying down the stairs and out the door clinging to a ghost monster. "I forgot that was gonna happen."
"Get out of my house, you freak!" Jazz yelled, popping briefly back through the doorway. "Hi Danny! Hi Jared!"
"Hey, wait for me! It's my turn!" Jack said, handing Danny his drink and grabbing the Jack-o'-Nine-Tails, he raced after Jazz.
"Oh, gross! Backwash!" Danny said, after staring for a moment, he takes a sip of the drink then spits it out.
