Chereads / Irene The Lady Who Turned Down Fate / Chapter 8 - The Carnival

Chapter 8 - The Carnival

When The sun God blessed the Solar empire he established 3 buildings here out of which one was the Imperial Palace, the other was The Temple and the last one was The Royal Academy.

Unlike other academies, the royal Academy only selects a few handfuls of students through an exam that happens every 2 years and people from any status either royal, noble or commoner can apply for it, at 0 costs. People might think of it as a charity act but the real story behind this is different.

It is said that when the sun God established these 3 buildings, He also established a little amount of his mana in them which can only be taken by the chosen one. Unlike the Mana present in Temple and Palace which can't be taken as it has already chosen its owner, the mana present in Academy is yet to choose its owner. So if it has the mana won't it be as divine as the palace and temple, it would surely be the best place for Ashton but will he agree to it....because once you are chosen from the Academy you can't return back until you complete your studies which take almost 5 to 6 years.

I looked at Ashton he kept looking downward...Ash...

"I thank her majesty and her highnesses for their suggestion, now if you allow us we would like to excuse ourselves since there is a place we need to go," I said as I rose from my seat, all looked at me with a shocked expression. "Huh, I will if you let me know where do you plan on going." Said her majesty, she must have read my face. I smiled towards her and whispered the contents in her ears. "It's a good idea I wonder if you would allow two more people to join you." The empress said with a smile.

" Sure the more the merrier!!" I said with excitement. "Great then!!" The empress said.

Both the prince and Ashton looked at us with a confused look. "What are you talking about?" The second prince asked.

"Rather than telling you why don't you see it yourself." the empress said as she clapped her hands and in a blink of eyes, our clothes changed into commoners clothes, as excepted of her majesty.

I looked at the Princes and Ash who looked confused by all the sudden change, but they do look good in it, the crown prince was wearing black high waisted shorts with a white shirt and a vest tied around his shoulder a pair of black socks and blacks shoes,

As for the second prince he was wearing blue high waist shorts and a light blue shirt with a baker boy hat, a pair of white socks and blue shoes to complete his overall look,

For Ash He was wearing green High waisted shorts with some white vertical stripes in them, a white shirt with long puffed sleeves a pair of white socks and black shoes to complete his look.

And lastly, for me, I was wearing a white dress that reached my knees with some patterns drawn in the end with short puffed sleeves. and a pair of white stockings with a red vertical line on the sides and black shoes and my hair was tied up in a ponytail.

"Ahem Ahem!!" I said to get their attention toward me, "Sister what's all this?" Ashton said looking worried. "Lady winter is this a trick played by mother." The second prince asked looking around. Whereas the Crown Prince kept looking at me without a single sign of panic.

"Now Now please calm down and listen to me," I said clapping my hands.

They finally listened to me and calmed down.

"First of all from now to the next few hours both his highness, Ash and I are no longer a prince or a noble," I said with a smile.

"What does it mean?" Ash and Second prince asked together.

"Its means, for now, we are just Maven, Bedisa, Azrael and Uziel!" I said as I held Ash's hands and turn around looking at the big entrance which was decorated with colourful lights,

"And welcome to the summer carnival!!" I said as I ran towards the entrance followed by the Princes.

Everything was colourful and bright there, with lots of shops located at the side and lots of fun games around, It was a bit similar to the modern day's amusement park but still, this looked more fun, I looked at the Princes and Ash face and they too looked amazed! Even the crown prince face was brightened up.

"So, do you like it??" I asked them and all they did was nod. I just laughed at them.

After that we went to different stores trying different types of food and desserts, we played a few games around. And the only thing that was left to play was the Giant wheel I know Ash likes it the most, "Will anyone like to try the Giant wheel?" I asked the trio who were eating popsicles. The second prince rose his hand so I gave him a ticket I looked at Ash who was hesitating, "Ash you should do what you like...you are a precious child so don't hesitate for anything." I said to him as I handed him a ticket.

His ears turned red probably he is shy, "Hey Maven, let's go in!!" The second prince said as he held his hand and went inside the giant wheel. Ash looked back towards me and smiled, So I smiled back towards him.

"This child I wish he would do what he likes.." I murmured. "Says the one who doesn't do it herself." The crown prince said as he looked around. "Pardon! What do you mean?" I said as I looked at him. But he didn't reply and instead he held my hand and ran in the other direction. "Crown Prince, what are you doing?" I asked him surprised by his sudden action.

He stopped and turned around to face me, "What I mean is that you don't follow what you say yourself." He said as he came near me, "Pardon?" I asked confused. " I mean this..." saying that he moved aside, After that, I saw a bunch of people dancing around. "His Highness this..." I asked him, "You only said do what you like." Saying that he again held my hand and ran towards the dancing ground.

"His Highness when did you..." He stopped me in between and whispered in my ears, "You forgot one more thing that for now, I am Uziel, not his Highness, so don't call me that okay, Bedisa!" He said with a smile on his face. That was the first time I saw him smiling, and for some reason, my heartfelt warmth. " Okay!" I said as I smiled back. He then held my hand as we started dancing together trying to match our beat in that unknown music.

And that evening under those bright lights and warm music I had my life's first-ever dance.

I wonder if his highness feels the same or not? But for now I am truly happy!

But sadly happy days don't last for long.....
