The smell of food stirred me from my sleep, opening my eyes I saw Castor puttering around in the kitchen, most likely getting breakfast ready. Amar'e, Lynn, and Dario were all seated around the small coffee table, Marilyn was nowhere insight. She was probably still asleep, the poor girl struggled to sleep well and was extremely tired whenever she woke. " Well, we will be heading back to Roman's this morning," Caster called, gesturing to a letter sprawled across the small table. A summons, it looks like Roman is impatient for our reply. It was at this moment a bushy haired Marilyn came stumbling out of the back rooms. " Is breakfast ready?" She mumbled rubbing her flushed face. " It is now,"Castor said, setting out the food for everyone. After a quick meal, we set off towards Romans. Arriving, the front of his home was free on any carriages, a relief from our last encounter. Hopefully this meant he had no other visitors. Roman awaited us at the same dining table, the damage from our fight cleared away as if it never happened. I leaned against the wall as everyone else took a seat, people made their chairs too small. They should make them in more sizes. " Well given the damage you all caused yesterday, and the fact I know you all are desperate for this piece, although you aren't the first to come to me for it, you are the ones I'm willing to make a deal with." Roman spoke, a smug small gracing the very edges of his lips. " Well, technically your other guest started the fight, but more importantly who else came for the price?" Lynn questioned, sharing a glance with Castor who was deep in thought. " The daggers, obviously, they came some time before you even entered the city. But I digress, you are a much more capable group and one I am more willing to work with." Roman said, sitting back in his chair and gently crossing his legs. " What do you need us to do?" Amar'e asked dryly, his expression bordering bored but his eyes ever intense and focused. I have no idea who the daggers are, I must ask later. " Well to put plainly, I need you to kill my parents and retrieve the deed to the city from them." Roman stated. "Kill them!?!" Marilyn repeated, obviously distressed by the thought,"but they're your parents, you couldn't work something out with them?!?" "Well, I've tried but have had no success. If you think you can get the deed from them peacefully, then by all means go for it." Roman said, waving his hand airily as to indicate his doubt."But if you do chose to kill them, I have some information on how to kill them that would be most helpful, but this information does have an extra price. If you'd like it, I'd need to turn one of you." Roman concluded, his eyes glinting maliciously. " Turn one of us? Why would you need that?" Marilyn questioned, running her hand through her fluff of red hair anxiously. " Yes, to ensure you wouldn't use the information against me of course, think of it as insurance." He stated. This man before me gives me a bad feeling, he makes my stomach turn hard. I feel as though we stand before a cat poses to pounce and we are but mice at his mercy. Truly a deviant being. " Well, if it comes down to it I supposed it'd be me you could turn." Amare said, leaning back in his chair. " What, no, no one's gonna be turned. We can figure something out!" Lynn exclaimed, placing his hands on the table and looking between each of us. " I think we need some time to think your offer over, maybe do some recon and see what this all entails" Castor calmly said, placing a hand on Lynn's shoulder. " Where could we find you parents, just so we can prepare." Castor turned to Roman. " Of course, but it would be very difficult to destroy them without this information." Roman smirked sliding a map from his pocket to Castor's hands. " Alright, thank you Roman, we will heavily consider your offer but we need some time." Castor stated, standing and bowing. Everyone else stood and the scraping of chairs broke the heavy silence that hung. I watched as they filed out before me, I met Romans eyes before leaving. I could discern nothing from his blank expression. Outside and in the streets, we regrouped. " Alright, I need to do some research, the school library should provide some insight." Castor begin turning to face us. " I'll go with, together we should be able to come up with something." Lynn volunteered. "I can go visit the home of the parents, just to see what we are looking at." I said, stepping forward. Castor handed the map over without a word. " I'll go too, in case we need to do some smooth talking." Marilyn chirped, bouncing next to my side. I nodded, I would be able to protect her easily if she followed. " I have some people I can contact, maybe they'll have some info." Amare murmured. " Dario can help too, Dario knows some people in this city." Dario quipped. " Alright, we can meet back up at the inn once to go over what we discovered." Castor said. With that we all dispersed, the pairings going off on our own little quests. " I hope his dad is nice and it's all just been a misunderstanding." Marilyn thought out loud." Mhmm that is best cast scenario." I agreed. With that we followed the map to a grandious, gothic manor nestled into the corner of the city. The lonely Manor had no neighbors and sat by itself. Hopefully it's owners were in a gracious mood today. Approaching the door, the sound of a piano could be heard drifting out from within. I nocked the heavy knocker, shaped to mimic a lions head. But after a while the music continued. " HeLlO!" Marilyn called out, but after another minute the music still continued. I stepped down from the porch and following the home until I reached a window where the music sounded loudest. " Windwalker! What are you doing?" Marilyn called from the porch. " Well he can't hear us so I go were he can. " I stated , seems pretty obvious. " Nooo, you can't do that. That's what the door is for." Marilyn said, a look of panic creeping onto her face as she looked from me to the door. I paused my actions and turned to her. " All I am going to do is get their attention." I stated, raising my hand to the heavily curtained window. All the windows were draped with deep crimson curtains, keeping anyone from peeking in. Marilyn jumped from the step and jogged over to me, she grabbed my arm and attempted to pull me away. I simple lifted my arm, pulling her off the ground. " Hey! That's unfair." She cried, her feet dangling several feet from the ground. " How so." I smiled, swinging her gently. "Your so tall." she chirped back. " Well eat your vegetables and you will grow tall too. " I stated. "I don't think I'll ever be as tall as you." Marilyn said. As I placed her back on the ground, I noticed the music had stopped and before I could react. The curtains had been thrown back, and I dark haired man doing the windows open. His skin was porcelain white, and a clean mustache and goatee struck a sharp contrast with their black color. His deep red eyes flicked between the two of us, even with him being elevated I stood just at chest height for him. " What are you doing here?" he drawled, his voice a deep honey.
