The sound of a clock reverberates in the background.

I stare at the droplet of water levitating in place in front of me.

I bring my hand forward stretch out my index finger and touch the droplet.

It moves back a little, changing its form ever so slightly as if it was jello yet it never falls.

I step out of the shower moving the curtains at an odd angle to see if it would fall, to see if I'm just crazy and yet it stays at that odd angle.

"Unbelievable..." I say.

[And yet it's real.] Says the ethereal voice.

"How?" I ask the voice.

[How not? You already thought there was more about the world that you didn't know. From your "Feelings" to human genetics that doesn't make sense. You are finally confirmed that there is magic and yet you don't believe it?] It asks back.

"I'm sorry I didn't know that when told I'm "The rightful heir of time" and the world suddenly stops around me I'm supposed to just brush it off because I have "Feelings" and human hair and eye color don't have any genetic backing. My fault I'll just not care anymore Mr.mysterious detached voice." I say sarcastically.

'I swear I heard it giggling at me but it's so faint that I'm not entirely sure.'

[You have a point there, Mr.Universe.] It says.

"Who the hell is Mr.Universe? My name is Crystel Qlock." I say.

[I know. I know. You just wouldn't get it.] It says amused.

"Wait... Are you the reason I have this god-awful name?" I ask.

I always hated my name. It's weird and tacky. Like, come on really? Crystel Qlock? At least use the actual words. But with me supposedly being "The rightful heir of time" It would make sense that I have this awful name. Which would mean that it's this voice's fault that I used to be bullied when I was in pre k. I didn't forget and I'm still mad at my parents for it. And then there's when it was the first day in high school and my teacher called me Crystel Qock. Everyone laughed at me for a week until someone tried to bully me and I beat them half to death. I was way less embarrassed there I was more just really annoyed.

[No. I am not the reason you have that name. You were meant to have it.] It says.

"But why? Like I'd literally take any other name. Why was I meant to have that name?" I complain.

[Bobert?] It asks.

"Nevermind, I'd take Crystel Qlock over Bobert." I say.

I start to get serious.

"You said that I'm the heir of time right? Does that mean there are other heirs and are all of them being told that there heirs right now?" I ask with a smirk.

[Yes as there is you, the heir of time, descendent of the god of time, there are more heirs as there were more gods. The god of fire Yanğın, The god of water Su, The god of earth Yer, The god of air Hava, The god of light Işıq, The god of darkness Qaranlıq, The god of space Məkan, and The god of time Zaman. They are the 8 original gods and they are the only gods that have heirs. The other heirs are not being told about being heirs yet because time is frozen right now because of you.]

My smirk widens before it goes back to my normal expression.

'Now's not the time...'

"Ok. First, did you just say that I'm a descendent of a god?" I ask.

[Yes you are.] It says.

"Shouldn't you have said that sooner? Telling me that I'm some sort of demi-god should have been the first thing you said." I say.

[That's the thing. You aren't a demi-god the gods died billions of years ago fighting the demon kings. You are just the only surviving descendant of the god of time.] It says.

"Doesn't that mean I only became this heir by coincidence?" I ask.

[No. Your genes are the strongest. Zaman had a lot of children but most of them or their descendants died. Your line of descendants is the last line of descendants that Zaman has. Your mother is in fact a descendant. Although she doesn't have any magic.] It says.

"Ok. Second, you said that the other heirs don't know their heirs right now because time is stopped and I'm doing it?" I ask.

[Yes.] It says.

"How?" I ask.

[Mana. The first type of energy to exist. I had personally used your mana to use one of the hardest skills that relate to time. Stopping it. So that you would be unable to refuse the fact that you can use magic. You currently have 6 more minutes of time stop before you exhaust your mana. Don't worry the more you use magic the easier it gets and you only have a measly amount of mana so once you gain more you won't just have 10 minutes of this magic.]

"You know what? I'm not even going to say anything about what you just said." I say.

I spent the rest of the 6 minutes asking questions after questions. Trying to find out as much as I can.

The most surprising thing I found out is that magic is all about intent. If you have the right intent then you can do anything. Well, not anything. That doesn't mean some random that wants to create a universe destroying magic can do it. No. You have to have the right mana and the right intent. But that also doesn't mean that if you have enough mana and the right intent you can do whatever you want. Some people just can't do it. If you want fire magic you have to have the intent of something that is hot and chaotic. While water magic would be calm and soothing. Once you've grasped the magic you wanted to make you don't have to bring intent into it anymore but changing the magic needs intent. If you want a slicing magic attack then you have to have the intent of a sharp arched slice.

Another important thing that I learned was that we heirs aren't bound to our set magic. We will always be best with our ancestor's magic but we can also learn other magic to assist. Like the fire heir learning air magic to help make their fire stronger.

I'm becoming more interested in magic the more I learn about it. I just want to sit down and experiment but I know that I don't have enough mana yet.

As mana reserves almost dry up I finally decide to ask the question I've been dreading ever since time stopped.

"So..... What kind of crazy planet-destroying magical monster are we gonna have to defeat to save the world?" I asked dreading the answer.

[There is none.] It says.

"Really?" I ask excitedly.

[Really. This world is now your playground with the only thing able to stop you being the other heirs]

"Thank god- well the gods I guess." I sigh.

Suddenly I feel extremely drained, the shower curtains move back to where they originally were, and the water starts running again.

[It seems you ran out of mana.] The voice says inside my head making me jump.

"DONT do that without any warning." I say.

"You could have warned me that I'd feel this tired." I say.

[I thought that was implied when I said that your mana would exhaust.] It says.

"Stop being a smart ass." I say.

I turn off the water and use a towel to dry myself off.

I walk out of the bathroom naked to tired to put on my clothes.

As I walk through the living room I notice beer cans filling up the garbage.

'Of course, she didn't take out the garbage before she left.'

I walk past the garbage bin into the hallway and then walk into my room paying attention to the smell of alcohol from the other room.

'I'm gonna have to "talk" to her again.'

I walk to my bed and check the clock on my phone.

'6:29 Pm'

I get into bed and almost instantly fall asleep.
