"Phew!" Yura fanned herself with her hand. "So it's summer already, huh?"
"Yeah. And it's so damn hot!" Remi whined.
"Who's hot?" A familiar voice behind them said.
Remi turned around. "We're talking about the weather you idiot!"
"That's no way to greet your neighbor!" Tatsume protested.
"Says the guy who stalks people." The brunette retorted.
"Wait, wait, wait, wait. Hold the phone you two are neighbors?!" Yura said in surprise.
"Yes." They answered simultaneously.
They glared at each other. "Don't copy me."
"Stop it!"
"No, you stop!"
"Okay, stop! At first it was cute, but it's just creepy now!" Yura said.
"Whatever." Remi said.
"So where are you two going?" Tatsume asked.
"Pool." Yura answered.
"Oh. That's where I was headed." The blackette said.
"Hey, Why don't we invite Chi-chan!" Yura suggested.
After sending her a quick text, he told them her answer. "She said she will meet us there so let's get goin'."
"Yeah, I don't see why not." The blackette removed his phone.
The two girls nodded and they proceeded to the public pool.
. . .
SPLASH!
They were in th cool water swimming happily at this moment. The start of summer was really hot.
As first years, they had learnt a lot. A week before summer break, they were going to Kyoto as a school trip.
"Hey Remi?" Yura called out to her best friend.
"Yeah?" She answered.
"Are you going on the trip to Kyoto?" She asked.
"Yeah, obviously!" The brunette said.
"Um...well, I'm not going!" The purple haired girl announced.
"What? Why?" Remi exclaimed.
"Sorry. It's just some family matters." Yura said sadly.
"I-I see."
"Hm? Why the gloomy mood short stuff?" Tatsume swam to the two girls with Chiyo behind him.
"Yura's not coming to Kyoto."
"That's too bad." The blackette answered.
"I think we should go home." Chiyo said.
"Y-yeah. We've been here long enough." Yura said swimming to the edge to get out of the pool.
The other three followed her lead. After getting out of the pool, each of them took their towels to dry themselves. Then the all got dressed and went back to their various home after getting some ice cream.
. . .
"Roki-roki!" Yura greeted Roki with his nickname.
She walked to him and noticed that he had tied his long hair into a low ponytail.
The shy boy blushed because of their closeness. Tatsume and Remi noticed how close the two were.
"Since when did they get so close?" Tatsume asked.
"I have no idea."
Remi looked at Roki's blushing face as Yura talked to him. She narrowed her eyes in suspicion.
Soon the bell rang and Remi had the chance to talk to him since he was going her way that day.
As they walked it was just silence between them. Soon Remi broke that silence.
"Roki-san. Do you like Yu-chan?" She asked.
"O-of course I-I do. Who wouldn't?" He replied.
"Oh. Not that way. I mean...?"
"Oh. That way."
"I don't know. My feelings are mixed up." Roki said.
"I see."
Then there was silence and it was killing Remi. Finally Roki spoke.
"Do you like someone?" The blonde asked.
This surprised her and her eyes widened. "A-ano, like someone?"
The boy next to her nodded his head.
Suddenly an image of Tatsume came into her mind's eye view. Before she knew it she was blushing profusely. Then she slapped herself which startled her companion.
"Are you okay?!" He asked in a concerned tone.
"Why him?" Remi muttered.
"Who?" Roki asked in confusion.
"WHY HIM?!!" Remi screamed.
"WHO?!!" He screamed back.
